Unfortunately, while hesitating, Catina had already packed up and left the dormitory.

When she still couldn’t help sending a ssage to Catina, she knew she had lost, and lost thoroughly.

Although Catina was not soone who was vain, as a girl, it was impossible for her to not feel sowhat exhilarated inside.

Thinking back to the first day she saw Li Ang at his ho, Catina couldn’t have imagined that he would grow so quickly, from an ordinary high school student into a champion of various competitions, reaching a dazzlingly high stature.

Only she had witnessed all of Li Ang’s efforts; nearly every ti she was by his side, Li Ang was training himself in various ways, otherwise he would be watching videos online to learn or reading books.

While his achievents were astonishing, they weren’t without explanation.

In the upcoming elite cycling event, the Tour de France, even though he would face various world-class cyclists, she still had full confidence in Li Ang.

...

At the Solo Team base, in the manager’s office, Loren Hansen was instructing his assistant to fetch him a blanket.

Since the last defeat in the Tour of California, his health had been poor, often feeling chest tightness and shortness of breath, insomnia with restless dreams, and any slight emotional excitent would leave him feeling extrely uncomfortable.

The assistant considerately draped the blanket over him and poured him a cup of hot coffee, reminding him that it was ti for the eting.

In the conference room, several team mbers were discussing this Tour de France team, and eventually, the conversation turned to the competition’s slots.

"I think our team was set to win, but who knew they would recruit such a monster."

"Yeah, just Li Ang’s value alone, I guess, is higher than their entire team."

"I wonder what kind of performance Li Ang will achieve in the Tour de France. Even for him, it wouldn’t be so easy to take the first place in the competition filled with so many top competitors, right?"

"Alright, stop talking. The manager will be here soon, and right now, he can’t stand hearing that na. Who knows how upset he would get if he found out."

No sooner had these words been uttered than a loud "bang" ca from outside the eting room.

Loren Hansen indeed got sowhat excited upon hearing the na Li Ang, but what broke the cal’s back was the additional jab from his own team mbers.

It seems like everyone knows I can’t stand hearing this news, I guess I still haven’t moved on from that defeat...

This last thought flashed through Loren Hansen’s mind before his vision went dark, and he collapsed to the floor.

"Damn, the manager really fainted because of your words."

"Nonsense, I didn’t even ntion that na; it was you guys."

"Ambulance! Call an ambulance quickly!"

...

On the other side, as soon as Li Ang’s flight landed and he turned on his network, he received the latest ssages from several of his teammates.

Loren Hansen, manager of the Solo Team, had suffered a stroke and was now paralyzed in bed. Without any surprises, it would be very difficult for him to get out of bed for the rest of his life.

Li had almost forgotten about it and was about to think it was because his skills weren’t up to par. After receiving the ssages, he finally felt at ease.

Dealing with others who are straightforward, he never fears anyone; engage in underhanded tactics, and he’ll play the ga, with thods even more sinister than theirs.

For such a self-aware manager, depriving him of all his abilities, to the point that he couldn’t even urinate on his own, was the greatest punishnt.

"What are you smiling about?"

Catina, seeing Li Ang looking at his phone with a smirk, asked curiously.

"Do you rember the ti we were frad by airport security? And the car accident after leaving the hotel?"

Catina nodded. "Of course, it’s just a pity we had no evidence, or else no matter how much it cost, we would’ve taken him to court."

"He’s had a stroke and is paralyzed."

"Then that’s definitely worth a smile."

Catina also revealed a smile similar to Li Ang’s.

The group walked out of the airport and realized that the entire Macs Team was already waiting outside to welco them.

They had arrived many days early to acclimatize and train, with only Li Ang having the capriciousness to arrive right on ti.

"We were just waiting for you."

The team manager, Olsad, gave Li Ang a big hug as he approached.

Despite everyone having trained intensely, they all knew that the team’s true core, the one who could make a key difference in the race, was none other than Li Ang.

If Li Ang didn’t co, it didn’t matter how well they trained.

What they sought in their training was to be able not to hold him back in the actual Tour de France.

anwhile, several staff mbers behind Li Ang were stunned.

They had wondered why their boss wasn’t in a hurry when the competition was so near. Weren’t they afraid of leadership criticism from the team?

At this mont, they finally understood what ’team status’ really ant.

In fact, Li Ang could have co even later. The reason he still arrived a few days early was for the opportunity to enjoy a few days in France.

Whether it was the culture or the romance, the cuisine, all of it was sothing the forr Li Ang had yearned for deeply.

After the team t up, they first found an authentic French restaurant for a good al.

Needless to say, in terms of food, French cuisine indeed lives up to its reputation, claiming it holds up half the sky of Western cuisine isn’t an exaggeration at all.

It was just that the post-al activities were sowhat less satisfying.
