"Did he leave?" Austin asked as he saw Valerie walking inside the infirmary with a serious frown on her face.

Hearing his voice, her distress turned into concern as she said, "Yes…it seems he was in a rush to return to the Capital."

Austin chuckled as he invited her to sit on the stool near the bed before he told his fiancée,

"You think I will be sad because my brother doesn't care about or any of my family mbers didn't even contact even after hearing about my situation?"

His tone already suggested that he didn't. However, Valerie felt quite sad seeing the indifference from her Lord. She has seen how close he has always been to his parents in the past.

Austin was the most loved and spoiled child of the family, even though he had two younger sisters. Everyone used to adore him until his elder brother appeared out of nowhere.

Only Valerie knows how lonely Austin had beco when his parents started ignoring his existence in the na of giving their elder one the ti and affection he was devoid of.

And the gap between Austin and his family has turned so wide that having no one to look out for him does no longer affect her Lord.

Valerie didn't know how to feel about it…

"Val, I already told you that, except for you, I care about no one. I just want your attention and love." He kissed the back of her hand as he softly muttered.

He could barely open his eyes; his body was still covered in bandages…yet the affection in his eyes had not subdued even a bit.

Valerie couldn't stop herself from smiling as she brought his hand, pressed it against her cheek, and said, "You will always have —until the end and beyond that…I will never leave your side."

Sebastian was currently moving toward the infirmary, when suddenly he heard a voice, "Wait a mont."

Turning towards the source of the voice, Sebastian lowered his head, "What can I do for you, Young Lady?"

Valerie appeared from the shadows while holding a long bag in her hand.

She handed the bag to Sebastian, urging the older one to look inside.

His eyes widened as he saw there was a steel pipe inside the bag, which was damaged slightly and had severe blood marks on it.

Sebastian looked at the lady and found her arms crossed and eyes narrowed as she said, "I won't ask why, but in the future, for whatever reason, if you dare hurt my Lord, I won't hesitate to kill you."

Sebastian regained his calm before muttering, "And you know that even death cannot stop from listening to the young master's command."

Valerie's expression turned sour, as she got the confirmation.

She already guessed that Her Lord had planned everything the mont she studied his injuries, and inspected his room during the investigation.

She turned around and was about to walk away when suddenly the older one said,

"He did it for you…wanted to keep you safe."

Valerie paused, and without looking at the butler, she said, "Don't misunderstand , Sebastian. I am not displeased about this…far from it. After all, I was about to get rid of that snake by myself sooner than later."

With her fist clenched she added, "I just can never feel happy about sothing that caused him pain."

Sebastian was once again reminded of how much the young lady adored his young master—and that made him smile.

As she resud walking she told him, "Don't tell him that I know…"

There was a severe frown on his face as the man who had similar blond hair as Austin, read the letter.

The King of the Eryndor—Cedric Eryndor, read the report he received from the headmaster through an ethereal courier.

"What happened, dear?" His wife, Sophie asked as she saw her husband frowning while reading the letter.

Cedric turned towards his wife before saying, "It's about Austin…it seems he is injured severely-" Before he could continue his wife interrupted,

"Must have fought with soone. Let the headmaster handle it and stop worrying about it." Saying so she went back to sleep.

Cedric heaved a sigh; it wasn't the first ti he had seen such negligence from his wife.

She no longer takes anything about Austin seriously; brushing it off like he is nothing but a mischievous child. However, here, the matter was serious—Austin was kidnapped and nearly killed.

And his wife…she doesn't even want to hear about it.

'Because of Aiden, she has completely forgotten about Austin…' He doesn't bla the eldest one for that since Aiden never asked them to ignore Austin.

However, the guilt Cedric and Sophie felt towards Aiden, made them completely ignorant towards Austin.

But not this ti—this was a very grave matter. His son, the second Prince of the nation was kidnapped.

Cedric cannot take this lightly or others would continue to tornt Austin while considering that his family no longer cares about him.

Changing his clothes, he was about to leave when suddenly his wife asked,"Where are you going all of a sudden?" There was displeasure in her voice. After all, it was the first ti in years that they got this opportunity to spend ti in peace, given Aiden was there to take care of things.

Cedric didn't turn to look at his wife before saying, "Going to do what a father must do for his child."

Sophie frowned….just because of so school fight her husband was leaving her like this.

'Austin…why didn't you turn out to be like your elder brother?' Sophie couldn't help but complain in her heart.
