Valerie didn't like Selner much because of her closeness to Austin. And also how comfortable Austin appeared around her.
However, it was a fact that she was soone who had helped Austin at the ti when he was all alone—fighting the gravest battle of his life.
She helped him in both tilines, allowing him to send his soul fragnts into different worlds so he could prepare for the war better.
Not to talk about, recently, when she brought Austin to the other side, she was ready to sacrifice her powers and status as a Witch if the Demoness tried to harm Austin.
Valerie might be a jealous fool who doesn't like even those won who ogle at her beloved. However, Selner was an exception. She could tolerate him.
"Quite deep in thought you are," Selner spoke as she led Valerie through so passage that was barely lit.
Valerie could tell that she wasn't inside the Council Headquarters but sowhere else.
"I am thinking about you. It's quite suspicious that you are doing all this just to bring peace to this world."
Selner chuckled, genuine laughter from the woman, as she asked, "And from how much I know you, you must have thought my interest in helping you...is related to Austin?"
"Is it not?" Valerie questioned back.
Selner glanced at the girl. Even though they could barely see each other, Selner knew that Valerie was giving her that narrowed-eye stare down.
"I don't know what you think of , Valerie, but I would have only gone for Austin if I had seen even the slightest of affection in his eyes for ."
Valerie's heart skipped a beat, "You didn't see any?"
Selner grinned, "If I had, nothing could have stopped from getting him for myself."
Valerie glared at her.
However, she soon had to squint her eyes as they suddenly entered a space that was brightly illuminated.
It was a room, about the size of a library with a high ceiling. The floor was not made of wood or marble...it was a slightly soft material, which could cushion soone's fall.
Valerie looked to the left and found....weapons. Like every kind of weapon was hanging by the wall. Axe, mace, swords of several kinds, daggers, bows, and arrows...she didn't even know half of the weapon nas.
"This is your ho for the next two months."
Valerie's eyes widened as she snatched her eyes away from the weapons and looked at the woman, "Two months?! The demonic army would arrive in fifteen days." The cause of her panic wasn't the demons at all. Just the thought of not being able to et Austin for two months caused her minor heart attack.
Selner rested her hand on her waist as she scoffed, "You think I could train you within a few days? This is a ti chamber prepared just to train you."
Valerie's expression turned grim as she started to back off, heading towards the passage from where she ca—but,
"Huh?!" She collided against a wall.
She hurriedly turned toward her back....and gone. The exit was gone!
"This is my domain, Princess. I can use my magic freely here." Selner said as she levitated in the air with a smile of amusent never leaving her face.
Drawing closer to Valerie, she said, "You know what's the trick to leaving the place?" Leaning to her ear, she whispered, "You just need to land a hit on m-"
*SHLINK*
Selner had to tilt her body as the spearhead ca towards her neck.
Valerie didn't wait. She twisted her grip and slamd her foot down, lunging with a sharp thrust. The spear shot straight for Selner's chest.
Selner leaned back. Just an inch. The spearhead grazed her coat.
Valerie growled and spun, slashing sideways.
Selner ducked, then weaved past the follow-up jab like wind slipping through cracks.
A flurry of stabs followed—fast, sharp, deadly.
Selner's feet barely touched the ground as she stepped aside, turned, and leaned back. Every strike missed by a breath.
Valerie's eyes burned. She jumped, feinted high, then swept low.
Selner skipped back. Her heel tapped the wall, but she didn't stop. She twirled past the final strike, hair whipping.
Still untouched.
Selner grinned.
"Almost."
"You can't keep away from him!" Valerie growled.
Selner grinned, "Then earn your freedom."

Austin was....feeling listless.
He has so many things to think about, however, with the absence of his advisor and lover beside him, he was feeling helpless.
"Get yourself together, young master. This is for the greater good."
Austin sighed upon hearing Sebastian's words as he slid the letter into an envelope and sealed it.
"Send it through WarpMail." Austin handed the letter to Sebastian.
It was written to his father, letting him know everything that is happening since Austin believes that the Council surely hasn't contacted them yet.
Austin would visit his ho in four days since the capital cos the route to Aderg.
However, since the preparation needs to be done as soon as possible, Austin decided to convey the ssage through the WarpMail.
"What are you going to do now, sir?" Sebastian asked as he took the letter.
Austin didn't have to think to inform him, "For the next four days, I am going to just train, Sebas. I need to prepare myself as well."
He has already bought the next dungeon and Austin would be pushing himself to reach A-rank in these four days, anyhow.
When he asked the system, 'What are the percentages of reaching A-rank in four sessions' the answer was,
[1%]
The system only allows Austin to remain within the dungeon for four hours a day, before forcibly throwing him out.
Initially, it was six hours, but with growing difficulty, the system took this decision.
So, like sixteen hours, he has to finish the two dungeons and break into rank A.
Yes, it sounded almost impossible. However, Austin won't know until he tries it.
'Valerie is working hard there, so I should also give my two hundred percent....'
The war was on the horizon and both sides have started their preparations.
