"What do you an by '108th order'?"
The golden eyes of the archer began shrinking, the golden glow reducing itself to more of a golden pupil as the archers breathing normalized and his entire body relaxed, seemingly accepting his fate whatever that may be, and changing his seating position, resulting in the robes falling of and showing that his entire body was covered in a light, brightly glistening, white plated armor and finally sitting cross-legged and looking directly onto Cades, analysing him while exclaiming sothing that would truly confuse Cades.
"I'm of the 108th order, you know, you rank up each ti you kill a certain amount of relatively powerful creatures and grow stronger each ti..."
So he was indeed of a different world, a different world with a different way that magic worked, was he perhaps really of a divine church, did he perhaps really gain the capability of doing that through a god ?
Cades intended to ask further, but first, now that the archer had cald down enough to really interact with him, showing just how interesting he was, and finally Cades asked the question that had been burning on his lips, right besides the bleeding crust that still resided from when he first started talking and ripped them open.
And then he began talking in a leisurely voice, similarly to the archer in front of him, trying to lull him into revealing more and more secrets, or perhaps just hungering for social interaction so much that he was just convincing himself that he was trying to trick him.
"Why did you attack , Manug ?"
Cades pronunciation of the na might've been wrong, but the weird overlaying effect still conveyed the aning perfect, though the horrid pronunciation seed to ever so slightly annoy the archer, well..
It would've been the sa for Cades.
But regardless of that the archer seed to grow tense, but the mouth opened and sothing ca out that Cades had never truly expected, not in this kind of a situation.
"You look as if you'd eat the grilled, stillborn baby of the holy mother, latrira, while covering it in a sauce of the holy father, Mantiu and having a dessert made out of a mixture between the pancreas of the holy mother and the flesh of Mantiu taken from his holy face."
Never in a million years could Cades have expected the archer to say this.
Was he tired of living ?
Was he insane ?
But still, perhaps because Cades was tired of being alone for so.. long.. he still liked it, and began thinking, it didn't take him especially long, perhaps he was ever so slightly talented at talking in this way but he responded in kind, or at least he tried to, his lips moving ever so slightly, twitching from his never-moving frown, barely noticeable under the thin layer of filth covering him.
"I do admit that I must reek like sh#t and sll much, much worse, but I can't exactly do anything against that right now, can I. But now I do have to ask you to explain what you ant by 'order' closer, I co from sowhere else after all."
He utterly failed at the attempt to return his answer in the sa way that the archer had given his answer to him, after all he hadn't talked for a long ti, he was rusty, on the other hand the archer probably hadn't talked to anyone else for a long ti either.
The archer sat still for so ti, his legs tensing up once more, still sitting in a surprisingly feminine position, or at least his body language seed feminine for so reason as he started explaining what he ant by order.
"Well... as I've told you already an order is a asurent and layer of strength where I ca from, the way we grow stronger, the way we hone our constants and actives, the way we grow more and more powerful, sothing that everyone in my world is born with, the way we manage to absorb the golden magic of the mondro stones."
.. well, this just created many more questions than he had had before, what was a constant, what was a active and what was a mondro-stone...
So he began bombarding the tense archer with his questions, his ever so steady gaze now slowly wavering but his hunger still growing greater, neither for flesh nor violence but for knowledge, he desired to know what was going on.
He asked individually to hopefully get more detailed explanations, rather than just a brief overview.
"What are constants ?"
The way that the archer looked at him changed once more, the pupils now rather normal than anything else and starting to relax once more, realizing that it was only a hunger for wisdom, but still tense as he was in great danger, still.
"A constant is an ability many of us gain, an ability we are born with, one we wield as part of our bodies since the very second we are born. It's hard to really explain, it's like asking over a core-function that a entire language is really build around, so I'll just give you a example, my own constant. My constant is the perfect body, my entire self is entrancing to everyone I et, normal people have trouble even jsut looking at .
Another reason for why I'm not scared for my live right now.
You haven't done anything, or at least it doesn't seem like you did.
You didn't rape , you didn't kill , but I take that I should explain actives next, right ?"
After first devouring the information that had just been disclosed to him for a bit Cades nodded, ready to find out about how it worked, about if he would be able to use it to gain his revenge, to gather more power than he already wielded.
And the archer, now more relaxed than before, seeing the eternal burning gaze of his opponent finally move as he nodded and opening his mouth just to answer with the sa overlaying understanding und gurgling voice as before.
"An active is basically a power one can absorb from a mondro-stone, a way to use a spell, sothing like a temporary constant with a greater price, and before you ask, mondro-stones can materialized as constants as well, but only in rare cases."
Well, while that did give Cades a very crude understanding of how the magical system in the archers world worked there was sothing that was bothering him.
Would he be able to use it ?
