The hunting eagle flapped its wings, spiraling down through the moonlight, landing on ng Qianqian’s wrist, which was adorned with silver thread gloves.

ng Qianqian fed it a piece of jerky. "Go find the ancestral grandmother."

With a swift motion of her arm, the hunting eagle screeched away.

Among the towering mountains, even a trained hunting eagle finds it extrely hard to trace a person’s path.

Fortunately, heaven rewards the diligent.

About half an hour later, the hunting eagle let out a piercing screech, swooping into a grove of pine trees.

"Young Madam! Look quickly! It’s the Old Madam!"

Cui Hu raised his hand, pointing at a large tree ahead.

The Old Madam was leaning against the tree trunk, sitting on a branch, her eyes tightly shut, resembling a sleeping figure, vulnerable to a fall if not careful.

At her age, even if her body is still robust, a fall like that could be disastrous.

ng Qianqian frowned, "Ancestral grandmother!"

The Old Madam showed no reaction.

Cui Hu remarked, "Looks like she’s been drugged unconscious. It’s vile—who could be so malicious as to target even an elderly woman!"

At this point, not just ng Qianqian, but even he was filled with righteous anger, feeling the burning fury!

"Was it the Loulan barbarians who did this? Damn them! They’re a hundred tis more vicious than the Thousand chanism Pavilion! Young Madam, wait here, I’ll go and check, be wary of booby traps!"

ng Qianqian acknowledged with a nod.

Cui Hu clamped a dagger between his teeth, picking up a broken branch in each hand, cautiously probing the path ahead step by step.

His prediction was spot on, as he hadn’t gone more than three steps before he detected a beast trap, its sharp snap easily breaking the dead branch, resounding with a crisp noise.

"Hmph, lucky I was prepared."

He continued onward.

Either stepping into a net trap or triggering a venomous arrow.

Fortunately, it remained thrilling yet safe.

Just as Cui Hu was about to stand under the tree, ng Qianqian suddenly stopped him, "Wait!"

"What’s wrong, Young Madam?"

Cui Hu turned his head, asking in confusion.

ng Qianqian’s eyes glinted sharply, flicking her sleeve to release a silver needle.

Cui Hu felt a sudden chill above his head, looking up to see a venomous snake, spitting out its tongue, plumting from the sky, shot down by ng Qianqian’s silver needle, writhing madly before being pinned to the ground.

Cui Hu gasped in shock!

He had been so focused on disarming traps that he had forgotten such dangerous creatures lurked within the forest.

"It’s a five-step snake! A single bite from it and I’m done for!"

Disregarding whether it was an accident or intentional, he hastily jumped aside.

He arrived beneath the big tree.

"This ti, surely there won’t be any more traps."

Despite his words, he still cautiously probed around with a dead branch.

He wasn’t worried for his own safety, but feared injuring the Old Madam.

"Young Madam, no more traps here, I’ll bring the Old Madam down now."

ng Qianqian nodded, stepping towards the big tree.

Cui Hu gingerly carried the Old Madam down, letting her lean against the tree, checking her breath: "Young Madam, she’s still breathing."

ng Qianqian gave a nod, crouched down, and checked the Old Madam’s pulse.

The night was dark.

Cui Hu stepped aside, worried he might block the already scarce moonlight.

But just as he shifted, a cold gleam of a sword flickered across his eyes, causing him to blink.

A terrifying killing intent rushed at him.

His face changed, shouting loudly, "Young Madam! Watch out!"

Unfortunately, he spoke too late.

The unconscious Old Madam suddenly gripped the dagger hidden in her sleeve, fiercely thrusting it towards ng Qianqian’s belly.

At that instant, Cui Hu was struck, frozen in shock.

The Young Madam is pregnant!

With this stabbing, both the Young Madam and the young heir—

"Young Madam! Young—"

He hurried forward, bending to pull the knife, though he knew it was already too late.

Yet, just as his words and actions were halfway, they abruptly halted.

Scalding fresh blood splattered over his face, the thick scent of blood causing him to shiver.

The injured wasn’t ng Qianqian.

ng Qianqian had snapped the opponent’s blade tip, reversed the grip, and slit the throat in one swift motion!

Cui Hu’s whole body slackened, breaking out in a cold sweat, inadvertently slipping into Tan’er’s dialect, "Scared to death—"

ng Qianqian removed the human skin mask from the opponent’s face, revealing a young, pale face.

Cui Hu, still shaken, stamred, "A fake... Young Madam, when did you realize it?"

ng Qianqian calmly stood, "I noticed from the start. Her hand was smooth."

Cui Hu focused his gaze, realizing it was indeed true.

He couldn’t help but admire ng Qianqian’s ticulousness even more.

Although he had so background as a scout, when emotions were in turmoil, he still made mistakes.

The Young Madam’s composure was unmatched.

ng Qianqian summoned the hunting eagle, letting it sniff the scent on the opponent’s body.

Though an eagle’s sense of sll is not as keen as a dog’s, she was certain the ancestral grandmother was nearby, at such a distance, the eagle’s scent detection would suffice.
