Lady Yan is unexpectedly an elder of the Thousand chanism Pavilion—this was beyond ng Qianqian’s expectations.

The Thousand chanism Pavilion actually planted one of their elders as an undercover operative under Pri Minister Xun. What a bold move.

But upon further thought, if it weren’t for Lady Yan’s highly unusual status, Pri Minister Xun wouldn’t trust her this much.

"Elder Yan, are you here to rescue us and take us back to the Thousand chanism Pavilion?"

Shang Wuyou asked.

Lady Yan, having cald her inner shock, replied steadily and unhurriedly, "Young Master, I ca to the Governor Mansion at Madam Lu’s invitation."

After saying this, she turned to ng Qianqian, "I wonder why Madam Lu summoned here?"

Shang Wuyou frowned, "You know each other?"

ng Qianqian stared directly at Lady Yan and said, "We’re rely acquaintances, not close."

Shang Wuyou couldn’t grasp the hidden undertones in their exchange, as the two hardly seed like strangers by any asure.

Besides, Elder Yan was infamous within the Thousand chanism Pavilion for her independent ways—her fellow disciples often couldn’t even persuade her.

ng Qianqian pointed to the bed where Shang Changle lay, "Changle is ill. Wuyou doesn’t trust , so I had no choice but to seek your help as an elder of the Thousand chanism Pavilion to treat her."

Lady Yan approached the bed and looked at Shang Wuyou standing defensively in her way, "Young Master, could you step aside? I need to check Miss Changle’s pulse."

Shang Wuyou asked warily, "What exactly is your relationship with the Governor Mansion?"

Lady Yan responded calmly, "The patient’s condition is urgent; so matters can’t be explained in a few words. Let treat Miss Changle first, then I’ll answer your questions, Young Master."

Shang Wuyou glanced at Lady Yan, then at his increasingly weak sister. After hesitating for a while, he finally stepped aside.

ng Qianqian didn’t disclose her diagnosis to Lady Yan.

Lady Yan also began with the pulse check, followed by examining the eyes and tongue.

This was hardly unusual—other doctors would likely follow a similar procedure. However, Shang Wuyou keenly noticed so details that were strangely identical between the two won.

For instance, pressing three tis to find the pulse, or using a silver scoop to examine the tongue.

Ultimately, even the act of tucking in the corners of the quilt was exactly the sa.

It was as though... they shared the sa teacher.

ng Qianqian instructed Ban Xia to leave, leaving only the four of them in the room.

Shang Wuyou cast a wary glance at ng Qianqian and asked Lady Yan, "Elder Yan, how is my sister?"

Lady Yan was about to reply when the Miao King entered the room.

He sensed the tense atmosphere and, eyes darting around, asked ng Qianqian, "Granddaughter-in-law, have I co at a bad ti?"

ng Qianqian looked towards Lady Yan.

Lady Yan said, "I have no objections."

Shang Wuyou said, "I do..."

"You have shit objections!"

The Miao King swaggered over to ng Qianqian and, hands on his hips, glared at Shang Wuyou, exuding an air of "if you dare disrespect my granddaughter-in-law, I’ll bust your head open."

Shang Wuyou turned away with a resentful expression.

Lady Yan was slightly astonished at Wuyou’s reaction.

She had practically watched the siblings grow up and knew the brother’s personality well—more stubborn than his sister, more arrogant too. He was the type who’d rather die than submit, and only a rare few could put him in his place.

"Lady Yan, what’s wrong with the girl Changle?"

The Miao King asked.

Lady Yan sighed, "Her condition is rather complicated."

"Then take your ti to explain."

The Miao King pulled over two chairs—one for himself, one for his granddaughter-in-law. The other two could sort themselves out!

Lady Yan also found a stool to sit on.

Shang Wuyou was practically suspecting they were all family.

Lady Yan addressed ng Qianqian, "Earlier, you used the Ghost Gate Thirteen Needles to reduce her fever, didn’t you?"

ng Qianqian nodded.

Shang Wuyou’s brows furrowed upon hearing this, "Ghost Gate Thirteen Needles? That’s a long-lost needle technique of the Thousand chanism Pavilion—even Elder Yan has only mastered half of it... Where did you steal it from?"

ng Qianqian replied indifferently, "Take a guess."

Shang Wuyou: "..."

Lady Yan noticed Shang Wuyou’s hostility toward ng Qianqian. She paused and decided to directly ask ng Qianqian, "Was it you who had these siblings brought back from the Thousand chanism Pavilion?"

She specifically used "brought back," not "abducted."

Shang Wuyou’s brows furrowed even deeper.

ng Qianqian admitted candidly, "Yes."

Lady Yan said coldly, "You’ve surprised . I warned you to guard against being found by the Thousand chanism Pavilion, yet you went knocking on their door yourself—and even brought their Young Master and Miss away with you. Are you afraid the Pavilion doesn’t know of your existence?"

ng Qianqian replied calmly, "I told you there’s no need for them to look for . I will find them."

Shang Wuyou listened with growing confusion. This woman nad ng Qianqian seed to have grievances with the Thousand chanism Pavilion, yet Elder Yan wasn’t siding with the Pavilion either.

He stared icily at ng Qianqian, "Who are you really?"
