"How should we act, how should we act?"

Bai Yuwei’s eyes sparkled. Saying they radiated green light wouldn’t even be an exaggeration.

But she couldn’t be blad; after all, she had contributed significantly to the family—every single ti fighting to turn the tide.

If not for her, this family would have fallen apart!

So this ti, naturally, the most difficult and critical task would fall to her again.

Bai Yuwei clenched her fists: "This is what they call ’bearing heavy responsibilities and a long road ahead’!"

ng Qianqian looked at her excited expression and chuckled knowingly: "Little Sister, well done with the idiom."

"Huh?"

Bai Yuwei froze and turned her face away, "Who wants your praise?"

Tan’er crossed her arms: "What, you won’t even accept complints? You’re so insufferable!"

Bai Yuwei glared at Tan’er: "Mind your own business!"

Tan’er stuck out her tongue and made a funny face: "Bleh!"

Bai Yuwei was montarily speechless. As a noble lady born to Miaojiang, such childish actions were beneath her.

ng Qianqian opened an exquisite brocade box. Inside were disguise tools willingly provided by Luo San—definitely not stolen.

Aside from plenty of human skin masks, there were also all sorts of strange pills and pastes, each with its unique use—for example, roughening one’s voice, altering skin tone, or including fake beards and eyebrows...

ng Qianqian marveled: "Wow, this craftsmanship is quite sothing."

Tan’er curiously rummaged through the brocade box and pulled out two fake mustaches to stick on herself.

Bai Yuwei couldn’t hold back and let out a laugh.

Tan’er, transford into a little old man, looked utterly ridiculous.

ng Qianqian picked out a human skin mask of Luo San and said to Lu Yuan: "Get ready; soon you’ll be Luo San when we head out."

Lu Yuan’s face showed clear refusal.

ng Qianqian coaxed sweetly: "It’s clean! Luo San just made it last night, and no one else has worn it yet."

Though called a human skin mask, it wasn’t made from actual human skin—just resembled it, hence the na.

Bai Yuwei got caught off guard when Tan’er sneak-attacked her, sticking a goatee on her.

She shot Tan’er a glare yet found it amusing. Instead of taking it off right away, she stroked the beard and asked the couple, "You seriously don’t plan to tell anyone else?"

She was referring to the truth about Lu Yuan’s survival and his swapping identities with Luo San.

As for the others she ntioned, they were Nanny Li, Nanny Wan, and Ban Xia.

Upon hearing about Lu Yuan’s demise and secret mission to Miaojiang for survival, these won were devastated—especially Nanny Li and Ban Xia, who sobbed half the night fearing ng Qianqian was destined for widowhood again.

Tan’er sighed sympathetically: "Yeah, Nanny Li and Ban Xia cried their hearts out!"

ng Qianqian shook her head: "Let’s wait for the right ti to tell them."

It couldn’t be helped.

This involved the second uncle and second aunt’s child’s life; fewer people knowing the truth ant greater safety.

Moreover, Nanny Li and the others were ordinary folk—if they couldn’t believe it themselves, it’d be hard to convince others.

Sothing crossed ng Qianqian’s mind, shifting the topic: "Speaking of which, is resurrection through the secret technique really possible?"

Bai Yuwei patted her chest confidently: "Of course it’s real!"

Tan’er asked her: "Have you seen it?"

Bai Yuwei hesitated: "I... I haven’t seen it with my own eyes, but as we Miaojiang people say, the Goddess is a divine ssenger who communicates with the gods and possesses what you Central Plains people call the power of the Daluo Golden Immortal."

ng Qianqian turned to Lu Yuan.

Lu Yuan said: "It’s not that exaggerated. Birth, aging, illness, and death are irreversible. The witchcraft of Miaojiang is sowhat similar to the court’s Astronomical Bureau. It can observe celestial patterns, predict calendars, control seasons and star power, anwhile incorporating Miaojiang’s ancestral farming and Qihuang skills passed down. Every Miao King must undergo rituals and training at Witch Mountain before taking the throne."

ng Qianqian nodded in understanding: "So that’s how it is."

Lu Yuan added: "Naturally, there are other capabilities, but my knowledge is currently limited."

Impressed, ng Qianqian comnted: "She’s like a one-person Astronomical Bureau, Imperial Physician, and Ministry of Agriculture. How astonishing, no wonder she’s a Goddess."

"Xian’er—Xian’er—"

From outside the courtyard ca the Miao King’s shout, "Got my letter? Rember to reply! And don’t stew my eagle—if you must stew it, at least wait till you’ve read it first—"

The Hunting Eagle soared high in the sky, abruptly swerving mid-flight and narrowly avoiding a crash!

Damn it!

You’re such a beast!

Liu Qingyun yawned and went to bed. Performing a scene with Lady Yan had worn him out—ti for so rest.

Inside the main room, the group’s conversation carried on.

ng Qianqian asked: "I just thought of sothing else. We spent so much effort sending the counterfeit version of you out, but the Pri Minister won’t give up easily. If he sends Chen Long again to kill you, this ti he won’t leave you intact—it’ll be decapitation."

Tan’er dramatically fretted: "Chen Long’s martial arts are so powerful! Xiao Bai won’t be able to withstand him!"

Bai Yuwei stomped: "My brother would never lose to him! My brother’s martial arts are unrivaled!"

Tan’er pushed the door open and pointed to the sky: "Xiao Bai, what’s that up there?"

Bai Yuwei looked up: "What?"

Tan’er counted seriously: "One, two, three... all of them are bulls flying up from your nonsense!"

Bai Yuwei: "..."

Lu Yuan remarked: "Based on what I know of him, for a single task, he wouldn’t send the sa person twice."

Just as he finished, Chen Long entered through the window.

The whole room turned to look at him in unison.

Standing on one foot in the stance of a golden rooster, his expression was awkward.

Tan’er tilted her head and asked: "Brother Long, why don’t you use the door?"

Chen Long brought his other foot inside and said sincerely: "Didn’t realize you were all here."

Lu Yuan said coldly: "Sneaking into my room—what are your intentions?"

Chen Long shot him a provocative look: "You’re Luo San now; this isn’t your room."

Lu Yuan: "..."

Bai Yuwei muttered: "Why do I sll strong, sour killing intent?"

Tan’er rested her chin in her palms and cheered: "Fight! Fight!"

ng Qianqian turned to Chen Long, her eyes full of sisterly concern: "The Pri Minister didn’t make things hard for you, did he?"

Chen Long subconsciously softened his tone: "I killed Lu Yuan. Task complete. The Governor Mansion took a corpse to Miaojiang for continuation of life—it’s not my problem."

Lu Yuan snorted coldly.

Chen Long glanced at him and asked: "Why are you still here?"

Lu Yuan retorted frostily: "This is my ho!"

"Not anymore." Chen Long finally found his footing. "Your ho now is the Pri Minister’s Mansion. You should go back."

Lu Yuan huffed coldly: "That’s my business—it’s irrelevant to you. Why haven’t you explained why you’re here?"

Chen Long: "To bring you back to the Pri Minister’s Mansion."

Lu Yuan: "..."

Chen Long pulled a burlap sack from his chest and flicked it open forcefully.

Lu Yuan’s face darkened: "You’re being ridiculous!"

Chen Long grinned maliciously: "Pretending should be done thoroughly. Are you getting in yourself, or should I throw you in?"
