ng Qianqian: The Pri Minister’s skill at manipulating people is truly masterful. This Luo San is completely impervious to provocations and sches.
Lu Yuan chuckled, "Did you know I sent another ssage back to the Capital City?"
Luo San was entirely indifferent.
Lu Yuan stared directly at Luo San, "I told your master that Xun Yu’s demise was caused by you."
Luo San’s expression finally showed a fleeting change.
ng Qianqian rubbed her chin suspiciously, "Oh, a reaction? So it does get to him."
Luo San clenched his fists, "I have no reason to harm Xun Yu. He won’t believe it."
ng Qianqian questioned playfully, "But why do you seem so afraid that he might believe it?"
Luo San roared furiously, "I didn’t! He won’t believe!"
ng Qianqian widened her eyes, "Such a big reaction?"
Lu Yuan’s eyes narrowed slightly, "Luo San."
Luo San interrupted Lu Yuan sharply, "Don’t you dare make things up!"
Lu Yuan curled his lips into a sly smile, "I was just going to remind you—your killers have arrived."
ng Qianqian swiftly raised her arm, shielding Lu Yuan behind her. She then drew the Brocade Spring Saber and stood guard at the cave entrance.
Lu Yuan released Chang Kuan from his acupoint immobilization and woke him up, "Assassins are coming for us. If you don’t want the Princess to die, take her and leave imdiately."
Chang Kuan drew his blade, pointing it at Lu Yuan before turning to look at ng Qianqian at the cave entrance, "Lu Young Madam..."
ng Qianqian spoke sternly, "He’s right. Take the Princess and go first!"
Chang Kuan’s mission was to protect the Princess; the safety of others always ca second to hers.
"My apologies, Lu Young Madam."
Chang Kuan carried the still-sleeping Princess Wanping and quickly exited the cave.
Monts later, two assassins clad in Imperial Guard uniforms arrived at the cave entrance.
ng Qianqian charged forward and engaged the two in intense combat.
Though the two wore heavy armor and helts that obscured their faces, Luo San, having spent years at the Pri Minister’s Mansion, could recognize their fighting styles instantly.
One was Xun Liu, the other Shangguan Ling.
Lu Yuan commanded, "Use the Gu on them!"
"Oh, right! I almost forgot—I have the Gu!"
ng Qianqian reached into her waist pouch, pulled out two Poison Bottles, and hurled them toward the two assassins.
The duo exchanged glances and swiftly evaded the Poison Bottles.
"You may dodge now, but you can’t dodge forever! I’ve got more where those ca from!"
ng Qianqian pulled out two more Poison Bottles, "Husband, you all leave first! I’ll hold them off!"
Lu Yuan nodded, grabbing the tightly bound Luo San, then slashed through his ropes with a saber, "Let’s go."
Luo San followed Lu Yuan out of the cave.
As soon as the two left, the three stopped fighting.
"Shangguan Ling" removed his helt, "It’s so hot."
It was Yu Zichuan.
"Xun Liu" also took off his helt—it was Ji Li.
While everyone assud Ji Li acted impulsively when confronting Xun Liu and Shangguan Ling, in reality, he was carefully observing their martial arts techniques.
Yu Zichuan understood Shangguan Ling well, so Ji Li took to impersonating Xun Liu.
Ji Li flipped open his folding fan and fanned himself, "Little Yin Hu, how was my performance as the Commander Guard?"
ng Qianqian pointed a finger, "Just so-so. Worth two copper coins."
Ji Li exploded, "Seriously? After all the effort I put into acting, just two copper coins? Aren’t you being way too stingy?!"
ng Qianqian withdrew one finger, "One."
Ji Li protested, "Fine! Two it is! No takebacks!"
-
Lu Yuan and Luo San only stopped after escaping two li into the distance.
Luo San leaned against a tree trunk, panting heavily.
Lu Yuan raised a brow, "Now will you believe it?"
Luo San collapsed to the ground, resting against the tree, "Lu Yuan, I’ll admit your plan is clever, but did you forget what I do? Trying to disguise yourself in front of is like teaching a carpenter how to saw wood."
Lu Yuan frowned, "ng Xiaojiu."
The stealthily trailing ng Qianqian erged innocently from behind another tree, blinking, "Uh, I didn’t use enough sedative—he’s too clear-headed."
"Hahahaha... hahaha... hahahahaha..."
Luo San threw his head back and laughed heartily, "I knew it... He wouldn’t send anyone to kill ... He would never abandon ... Lu Yuan, you’ve lost!"
Just as he finished speaking, a terrifying murderous aura suddenly arose from the eastern woods.
The moon hung dark, the wind howled coldly, shadows of trees swayed ominously.
The Miao King exaggeratedly swung his arms and dashed forward, making "whoosh, whoosh, whoosh" noises.
"Co on! Catch if you can!"
Behind him was a massive group of Hidden Guards from the Capital City who had chased him all the way here from the Pri Minister’s Mansion.
ng Qianqian only caught a fleeting glimpse of a figure zipping past her.
The Miao King ran right by but then curiously paused, "Hmm?" He zipped backward, "Granddaughter-in-law! It’s you?"
ng Qianqian stared in shock, "Grandfather?"
The Miao King hollered, "Ah! Murderers! Granddaughter-in-law, let’s run together!"
ng Qianqian glanced behind him to see a dark, surging tide of Hidden Guards, resembling a nacing flood.
She shivered, and as she ran alongside him, she asked nervously:
"Grandfather, what did you do to attract so many killers? Did you dig up soone’s ancestral grave?"
The Miao King answered nonchalantly, "Oh yes, I dug up Xun the Old Scoundrel’s ancestral grave!"
