Not long after she fell asleep, a tall and burly man with a full beard, built like an ox, stepped into the alley with slow strides and an ominous aura, wielding a massive axe.

As he passed by the houses of the white-haired man in black and ng Qianqian, his bloodshot eyes glanced at both residences.

His heavy breathing carried a chilling undertone, like a Fierce Ghost claiming souls in the night.

"Soone’s here..."

He raised the giant axe in his hand and swung it heavily toward the ng Family’s courtyard gate.

Unexpectedly, just as the axe was about to co down, a flying piece of bone blocked its trajectory.

He stared at the bone that had landed on the ground and asked in a deep voice, "Mada Feng?"

A hoarse and aged voice ca from the old lady’s residence: "No touching this family."

The bearded man was a bit surprised. "Mada Feng, weren’t you the one who loves killing the most? Since when did you start protecting people?"

The old lady didn’t reply.

The bearded man said, "Got it. But they’d better not cause trouble. I like peace and quiet — too much noise, and I won’t be polite."

With that, he pointed his giant axe at the house next door. "And this house? You’re not planning to protect it too, are you?"

The old lady replied, "Do as you wish."

Inside the main residence, the white-haired man in black stared at his strikingly charming face in the copper mirror, overwheld with excitent: "My handso face is finally back!"

Last ti, the matriarch had slamd him with a door panel and made him look like a pig, leaving him too embarrassed to go outside.

But now, things were looking up — he could challenge Little Yin Hu to a duel!

Little Yin Hu wouldn’t survive his moves and would be killed for sure!

"Muahaha, muahahahaha!"

Boom!

Suddenly, his door was smashed open, with fragnts of the broken door swirling toward him amidst a gust of violent Inner Strength.

His gaze turned cold: "Again? I already got slamd by a door once. You think I can be squashed a second ti?"

With a single palm strike, he shattered the door pieces flying toward him.

Only after he struck did he sense sothing amiss.

"That’s my door!"

Fury rising in his heart, he instantly dashed to the veranda and stared at the unwelco brute with the giant axe standing in the courtyard.

The massive beast-like physique of the intruder surprised him.

But soon, a trace of disdain flickered in his eyes: "Who’s there? State your na — I, the Commander Guard, do not kill nobodies."

The intruder swung his axe directly at him.

The white-haired man in black raised his arm to block his wrist and struck a palm against the brute’s chest, causing him to retreat three steps.

Yes, only three steps!

He was utterly shocked — who was this person? Such strength!

If it had been any other expert, his palm strike would have sent them flying, with their organs ruptured at best or instant death at worst — the intruder in black from last ti ended up in the latter category.

The bearded man was also taken aback.

To withstand his axe and force him back — this white-haired kid had so real skill.

Behind the curtain, ng Qianqian suddenly opened her eyes wide.

"Sister."

Tan’er crawled in through the window, lifted the corner of her curtain, shook her arm, and whispered, "There’s a fight going on. Want to check it out?"

ng Qianqian nodded.

This commotion didn’t seem like an ordinary scuffle.

The two of them leaped onto their own rooftop and crouched behind the eaves to observe the battle next door.

Tan’er’s gaze landed on the bearded man, her cheeks resting on her small fists as she exclaid excitedly, "So tall and mighty! Riding on his shoulders must feel... so commanding!"

ng Qianqian, however, focused on the other combatant.

Clad in black with white hair, his moves were agile and dashing — with one part killing intent and three parts charisma.

This man is...

"Ji Li."

She unconsciously uttered the na.

"Chicken Mud?" Tan’er followed ng Qianqian’s gaze to the white-haired man in black. "That’s the penniless Chicken Young Master who keeps borrowing rice from Nanny Wan? Chicken Young Master? What a weird na! Where’s he from?"

ng Qianqian replied softly, "The Twelve Guards. Rooster. Ji Li."

Tan’er stood with her hands on her hips, her eyes wide open: "He seriously is a chicken!"

ng Qianqian was deep in thought.

Why would Ji Li be here? And living next door, no less? Did he co for her?

Tan’er giggled: "Sister, since he’s one of the Twelve Guards too, should we say hello?"

ng Qianqian shook her head.

With a traitor among the Twelve Guards, she didn’t want to get too close to anyone until she figured out who it was.

Tan’er asked, "Sister, do you think he’ll be killed?"

ng Qianqian glanced at the fierce exchange between the two and said, "No, Ji Li’s martial arts are ranked in the top three among the Twelve Guards. This man is no match for him."

However, to be able to fight Ji Li to a draw — this axe-wielding man was terrifyingly strong.

This alley was truly rife with danger.

Tan’er’s eyes glead with excitent: "Sister, I really... like this place!"

The two exchanged hundreds of moves without a clear victor, and the axe-wielding man eventually walked away with his axe.

Ji Li snapped his fan open, gently waved it, and said aningfully, "Little Yin Hu, you’ve been watching the show for quite a while. Isn’t it ti to show yourself?"

ng Qianqian froze.

Tan’er covered her mouth: "We’ve been discovered."

Tan’er blinked: "Huh? Where is he?"

"Here."

Ji Li’s voice suddenly appeared behind them.

Tan’er turned around in utter shock: "So fast! Mom always said, if a man is too fast..."

Before she could finish, Ji Li sealed her pressure point with two fingers and tossed her off the roof.

"Little girl, this doesn’t concern you. Stay quietly on the swing."

Tan’er sat on the swing, unable to move except for her eyeballs.

Ji Li looked down at ng Qianqian sitting on the rooftop, his deanor refined as he said, "Let introduce myself. My na is Ji Li, the Rooster among the Twelve Guards. Don’t get too excited; I might be here to kill and claim your token."

ng Qianqian tilted her head up to et his murderous gaze and blinked: "I think you might want to put your pants on first before we continue this conversation."

Ji Li looked down at himself and then glanced toward his own courtyard.

He was up here, but his pants were down there!

No wonder that guy had walked away so easily — apparently, he’d split Ji Li’s pants with his axe!

ng Qianqian gave a harmless look and twisted the knife further: "Are you sure you want to claim the token while baring your bottom?"

Ji Li: "...!!"
