Eamon consoled himself once he had left Damon.
The sky had started to darken as Damon left the gardens to find his father.
At this specific ti of the day, an hour or two before dinner, his father was usually in his study, attending to various accounts that needed his signature.
He knocked at the door and the scene that welcod him once he was invited into the room caught his surprise.
His father was seated behind his large oak desk and before him were his sisters.
The twins did not look so happy and they only briefly glanced at Damon as he approached.
"Good evening." He greeted everyone and they all replied as his father ushered him to sit beside his sisters.
"What’s wrong with them?" Damon asked his father as he briefly looked at his sisters.
"The usual. They don’t want to get married and I am trying to be patient with them but the pressure from society is quite overwhelming. People want to see them get married and set an example for their own daughters that are starting to get rebellious." The king explained.
"But father..." Daphne started to complain and the king shot her a sharp look that rendered her silent.
"What did we agree on before you two walked into this room?" He asked, his voice calm and Daphne’s shoulders dropped.
"That we were going to have a strictly professional interaction. You said you could view our concerns as the king and not our father." Daphne grumbled.
"Good, I want you girls to view this from my perspective and that of the kingdom. Your actions are starting to cause trouble and as your father, I am on your side but as the king, I have to try and do what’s best for the kingdom. Promise that you will make an effort to pay your miserable suitors so attention?" He ended with a request and the twins sighed.
"Okay father." Davina agreed and Daphne repeated the sa words.
King Sebastian remained looking at them, his gaze probing.
They had forgotten to say sothing.
"We promise." They both blurted out and he smiled faintly since he had their word.
"Good, that’s sorted." He concluded and they both stood up and left, their facial expressions still grumpy.
"So, what brings you here, son?" The king asked once the door was shut.
Damon told him of Eamon’s plan, watching with growing interest as his father’s eyes widened in surprise.
"Are you really sure they are mates? It’s quite rare for a dragon male take a male mate." The king noted once he was done.
"Eamon confird it." Damon replied and the king was thoughtfully silent.
"What do you think of all this. Is it truly worth the risk? Should we let one of our most strategic and useful army generals go?" His father asked, thinking like the king he was.
"It could serve a greater good if it all works out. I trust Eamon with this." Damon admitted.
"Okay then, it’s settled. Your friend will leave with the dragon. I am hoping there won’t be causalities." His father concluded, not really liking the idea of having the castle that was still undergoing repairs further damaged with dragon flas.
"The escape will be executed with caution." Damon assured and the king offered him an understanding smile, his eyes brimming with pride.
He had raised his son well.
After having dinner with his family, Damon headed to Alexander’s room.
"Have you eaten?" He asked once the door was securely shut behind him.
Alexander was seated in bed, reading a book that he closed once his eyes landed on Damon, giving him his full attention.
"Yes." He replied, touched by this man’s concern.
Damon climbed into the bed and lay facing him. A short comfortable silence filled the room as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
"I like your eyes." Damon randomly confessed what was on his mind and Alexander blushed slightly, surprised.
"Thank you. I happen to really like yours too. They are the most remarkable shade of blue I have ever laid eyes on."Alexander replied truthfully once he had recovered.
Damon smiled as he inched closer to him.
"I am going to sleep with you tonight." He told Alexander who smiled as he closed the distance between them and wrapped his arms around him.
"You seem to like sleeping in my bed, Damon." Alexander noted as his fingers found their way into Damon’s hair and caressed it gently.
Damon looked up at him, leaning in and placing a soft kiss on his cheek.
Alexander shivered slightly from the tingling sensation that swept through his body at the action.
"I do and I intend to sleep by your side every night." Damon shalessly admitted and Alexander’s lips curled into a smile, pleased as he tugged him closer to his chest.
"I can see a future of sleepless nights." Alexander teased and Damon blushed, the underlying aning in his words getting to him.
When had Alexander beco so naughty?
"For that to happen, you have to heal very fast." Damon pointed out and Alexander smirked.
"There are...other things we could do." He whispered, his voice deep and seductive.
Damon felt his body heat up as he brought his hand up to feel Alexander’s forehead.
His temperature was normal.
Damon had always thought he was the shaless one in this relationship yet here was Alexander, surprising and impressing him all at once.
"We should sleep." Damon blurted out, suddenly flustered as he hid his face in Alexander’s chest.
A sensually deep and appealing chuckle filled the room as Alexander laughed.
"Now you have an idea of how I feel when you continuously tease every day." Alexander said and Damon slowly looked up at him, inching closer before he placed a brief kiss on his lips.
"Good night." He murmured once his eyes t Alexander’s that were suddenly a few shades darker from desire.
He hid his face again, feeling a little shy and the display made Alexander smirk.
This was a side of Damon he was seeing for the first ti and he loved it.
"I want a better good night kiss, Damon." Alexander whispered seductively, his hand that was in Damon hair, trailing lower to his nape.
