The fourth male slave of Pablo.

He was Bush.

Pablo gave him this na because he had curly hairs that looked like bush. Sothing like the wig people use when they go to watch a sport in a stadium to cheer for their team.

Anyway, his na wasn’t important right now.

Pablo’s other three slaves had yet to have a fight on their hands whereas for this slave, it looked like the fight was just around the corner.

The criminal opposite Bush was bare-chested and Pablo had noticed long ago that all the ten criminals who were dangerous, all of them were bare-chested.

Bush’s opponent was tall, he had no hair on his chest, on his face and on his head.

He was bald and beardless.

Pablo would have called this criminal ordinary looking if not for his eyes falling on the right hand of the man.

On the right hand of the criminal, Pablo saw that the man was missing three fingers. Index, middle and the ring finger.

He only had his thumb and little finger on his right hand.

He must have lost them in one of his fights. Also, now that I see it, why don’t they have any weapons on them? No criminals ca here with any weapons, even after I told them that they could bring anything they wanted. They must have underestimated the soldiers. Or they just rely too much on their Ego.

Pablo thought about so unrelated matters before focusing again on the scene.

The criminal slowly stepped towards Bush and the slave was constantly taking back-steps.

Sweat dripped from his forehead and he did his best to not close his eyes even when the salty water forced him to.

His heart threatened to leap out of his chest as Pablo could hear it clearly and the criminal was leisurely taking his ti to reach the thirteen year old boy.

Also, the criminal had no emotions on his face as if he knew he won’t get any fun by killing this boy. He acted as if he was killing the boy because he wanted to get this over with and go on to killing more dangerous and worthy opponents.

Bush gulped as the non-chalantness of the criminal made him shiver. He didn’t know how long he could take back-steps and he didn’t know how long the criminal would walk slowly towards him.

Nevertheless, he kept his eyes open and watched out for the simplest of the movents the criminal would make.

Mostly, he kept his eyes on the nerves or veins or muscles of his legs and the pattern of the criminal’s breathing.

The criminal was wearing a half pant, or a short with black and white stripes so it was rather easy for Bush to look at the man’s legs.

Pablo also watched everything closely and he sensed sothing would happen very soon.

It could happen at any second.

Heck, it could happen the next second.

Therefore, the Marshal didn’t avert his eyes and not only him, the slave knew all of this very well too.

He also sensed sothing would happen at any mont and the only thing that helped him not to outright faint in fear was the adrenaline running through all over his veins.

Bush’s whole body worked in unison, in unity, in friendship. Hiis whole body had beco one organ.

His eyes focused on the simplest of the movents of the criminal, his ears caught the pattern of his breathing, his hands held the two axes and were ready to strike when the eyes would command.

Bush did all the calculations in his head, he had morized all the patterns where the criminal could move and he also knew one murderously simple thing...

He only had one chance.

One mistake and he would die.

He had survived the streets and market of Quintus, he didn’t face all that just to die during a training like a no-na.

He would give everything he had just to make sure he cos out alive, and if nothing else, then he would like to die after using everything he had.

Soon, Bush reached a point where he forgot where he was.

Everything turned black for him and in front of his eyes, only the criminal with slow leisure steps appeared.

Bush had entered so other dinsion and Pablo sensed sothing he hadn’t expected to sense.

Bush had stopped breathing.

I hadn’t expected things would go this far.

Pablo was genuinely impressed as before he was curious what Bush would do but now, the slave had got the attention of his master.

This is what a human body could achieve when faced with death. Now I can’t wait for the result. I knew that boy was smart but if he pulled this off, I would change my plans for him. Show what you got, kid.

Pablo was completely invested and now he even rooted for Bush to win. Fuck the flashy Egoes, he wanted to see what an Egoless thirteen year boy could do against a killer who didn’t killed for a living, but lived for killing.

The criminal had no idea what Bush faced at the mont as his slow steps carried on. He was still far away from the boy.

But if the criminal had paid so attention to Bush, he would have seen that the boy had stopped moving backwards.

The boy had entirely stopped moving.

He wasn’t running anymore, he was waiting.

The criminal was too deep in his pride as with half closed eyes, he took another step.

But this ti, this another step wasn’t the sa as the earlier slow steps.

This ti, this one step made the criminal vanish from his spot.

Pablo also saw it and he figured what the criminal did.

He made it appear that he would only take slow steps as he don’t give a fuck and in the end, when he half closed his eyes, he made it appear that he really couldn’t care less and would take another slow step, but that turned out wrong as he did the opposite. He vanished from his spot.

I can think of only one thing right now seeing this. He used his Ego which is very likely teleportation. What would you do now, Bush? Show you are worth it. Give a feast.

Pablo saw the criminal vanishing from his spot but there was soone who saw it even before Pablo.

Bush.

His ears sensed a change in the pattern of the man’s breathing and instantly realized that he was going to make his move.

So, the slave gripped the axes and his eyes then noticed the tendons and muscles of the criminal’s legs twitching.

Now he was sure sothing would surely happen and all his being got ready for the showdown.

He only had one shot and it ant death if he missed it.

Therefore, his body and brain allotted Bush everything they could offer and as his focus turned equivalent to a divine monk, he saw it.

He saw the criminal vanishing before his eyes.

Everything beca slow motion for him.

Pablo had yet to see the criminal as he was nowhere around Bush and it had only been one second since he had vanished. But before he could see the criminal, he saw Bush turning around.

There was no one behind him.

No one at all.

He turned around for no reason at all!

... Or that’s what Pablo thought at least.

Because just after Bush turned around, the criminal appeared before the slave.

At that mont, there were three people whose eyes widened just by a re thirteen year old egoless boy.

Pablo, Cupid and the criminal himself gawked at the young boy.

Not even in his dreams the criminal expected to et the eyes of the boy after performing teleportation.

And yet, the boy was looking right in the eyes of the criminal.

At this mont, the criminal felt the one who teleported was the boy.

For the first ti since he started killing, he encountered a killer with no kills, a prey turning predator right in front of his eyes.

He encountered, in simple terms...

His death.
