"Your first wife is a bitch."

Pablo said it.

Flashy wanted to say that for a long ti but Pablo was the one who said it just in the first eting with his father.

And the aftermath of saying that?

Well, Flora snapped.

"This is just too much, dear. I can't handle such disrespect. Punish this man right at this mont."

"Yes. Yes. As you say. I will punish him. But I can't personally hit him. He is a Marshal. I will call the King. He will do sothing about this man."

'Hmm? He agreed to his wife too easily. That's not how I imagined Flashy's father.'

"Sure. Call the King. Put it on speaker too." Pablo gave permission. Not that Gerald asked for it.

Gerald took out the Receiver from his pocket and dialed the King's number right away.

"Heh." Flora scoffed. "My husband has the personal number of the King. He is on good terms with his highness. Just you wait."

Pablo smiled. "Sure. Your husband is a big shot. Having the King's number and all."

"Of course he is. You will pay for your sins."

"I get that a lot."

"Hmph."

Flora ignored Pablo and the call went through.

"Hello." The King spoke from the other side.

It was on speaker so Pablo and Flashy both could hear.

"It's , your highness. Gerald."

"Oh. What is it, Gerald?"

Flora smirked. Her smirk said 'See that? The king knows my husband too. You are dead at.'

Pablo paid it no mind and Gerald carried on the conversation.

"I have a complaint to make about soone, your highness. He is very disrespectful towards and my wife just because he is in a high position."

"I see. Who dared to do that to you? Tell the na and I will make sure he doesn't see tomorrow's sun no matter how high his job is."

Flora grinned.

She took the receiver from Gerald's hand and held it herself.

Then why looking at Pablo, she shared the na to the King:

"He is a Marshal of Abyssal Butchers. His na… Pablo Castillo."

THUD!

Sothing fell on the other side.

Pablo figured it was the king's chair.

The King stood up so fast, his chair fell down.

Gerald and Flora frowned.

"What happened, your highness?" She asked.

"You fucking idiots!"

Flora's eyes widened.

"What are you saying?"

"Shut up. Is Pablo there? Put it on speaker." The King ordered.

"It's already on the speaker." Gerald replied.

"Shit. Pablo, I got nothing to do with them. I have no hand in their bullshit. Do whatever you want. Just don't think I am connected to these two."

The King's voice was filled with dread.

Pablo didn't reply.

Gerald and Flora jerked their heads at Pablo.

"Are you there, Pablo? Did you hear what I said?"

"Yeah. I heard everything. You said you won't let see tomorrow's sun. I am so afraid, king."

"Oh. No. No. I never said that. You must have misheard."

"I misheard?"

"No. No. This Receiver is faulty here. It makes non existent words. You can't misheard things. Haha."

The King did all kinds of nervous laughs and Pablo could only smile.

Flora and Gerald stared at Pablo with blinking horror while Flashy knew it would be sothing like this with the King.

Nevertheless, Flora tried again.

"What are you talking about, your highness? This man made fun of and my husband, the noble, aristocrat, Gerald Harlow. The one responsible for the guards stationed inside the Ego Reserve. Because of him they could stay inside that mirror filled place. He took their shadows. You can't do this to him, your highness. You have to make justice to such an important man of your kingdom."

The King sighed.

"Listen, Flora and Gerald."

The couple paid attention and the King continued.

"The man standing in front of you is the one who saved this entire kingdom by killing a full fledged Demon. Then he went on to find a serial killer in the military. Now he is the second Marshal of the Abyssal Butchers division.

You are a Noble because your ancestors managed to earn money and reputation over the years. But the man in front of you, he accomplished everything single handedly. No nobles co close to his stature. So it's best if you let him do whatever the hell he wants unless…"

The King paused, moved the receiver close to his face, and then his voice ca loud and clear.

"You both want to die like a lamb on the side of the street."

BEEP!

The King cut the call.

Gerald took the Receiver from Flora and stored it back inside his pocket.

Pablo remained smiling in front of the couple and Flora cursed under her breath.

Gerald sighed.

"Well, there we have it."

Pablo nodded.

"Now let's talk about the main thing. Why did you call Flashy here?"

"Let's talk about it inside?" Gerald suggested.

"You won't do anything funny?" Pablo asked.

"Of course not. I enjoy being a human more than a lamb."

"Let's go inside then."

Pablo agreed.

Gerald nodded and with Flora went inside his mansion.

Pablo and Flashy followed them and eventually, they sat in the main hall of the mansion.

Gerald and Flora sat in front of them on a dium sized sofa.

"What would you like to have? Breakfast? Or sothing lighter?"

'He is offering the murderer of his children breakfast? What are his plans?' Pablo surely wondered about Gerald's intentions.

"That's basic courtesy. That's how guests are treated." Cupid said her mind.

'As usual, you are an idiot.'

"What?"

'No one in their right mind would greet the murderer of his children for a coffee. They would think fuck the courtesy. If Gerald really loved his children as Flashy said he does, then offering breakfast to isn't appropriate.'

"You think too much."

'Shut up.'

Cupid shut her trap and Pablo focused on Gerald again.

"I am not here for breakfast. Just tell what are you intentions and your first wife shall answer so of Flashy's questions."

"Alright then." Gerald patted his knees.

He leaned forward.

"I called Flashy here knowing full well that you will co with him as well."

"So?" Pablo asked.

Gerald smiled.

And out of all the things, Pablo could have assu, the old man said :

"I want to adopt you as my son."
