The rules of the national war had been fully explained, and several players who clearly had experience with similar gas began discussing.
Black Pearl said, "Huh? The rewards are so generous."
"Before, it was just fixed redemption coupons for different combat cards, but this ti it’s doubled by a coefficient?"
"Doesn’t that an that if Lone Wolf is the last one surviving, he could theoretically reach ninety million redemption coupons?"
The ntion of this number shook everyone present.
Even the top brass of major forces couldn’t overlook this amount, as it could buy several S grade items.
Lester frowned and said, "What are you thinking? In a golden setup, do you still expect everyone to be killed? It’ll be good enough if only one or two die, and more than three would be a sensational event."
"None of you ca here to kill, right? Competing to the death in the ga isn’t that aningful."
Many nodded in agreent, as their ntalities were quite stable at this level.
Moreover, they weren’t really lacking anything; when you have too much money, it just becos a number. Although the hefty redemption coupons could be used to strengthen their own organizations, losing themselves over it would be more loss than gain.
Therefore, their primary goal in this ga was to survive.
The second goal was to ally with Tai Sui, and the third was to collect as many redemption coupons as possible.
"Heh, nobody’s still thinking about earning the killing rewards, right? We should just collect Easter eggs..." said a young man with a lazy deanor as he lit a cigar.
Next to him was a bald man with astonishingly structured bones, his skin stretched taut over them.
The man appeared as a non-human creature wearing human skin, with prominent features and colossal collarbones like fans, as if he had dual-turbine at cannons on his shoulders.
"Phoenix, what’s the fun in smoking that? Want to try this?"
With those words, he pulled out an odd crystal, crushed it, and inhaled the glistening, misty vapor that was released.
Instantly, he looked revitalized, his eyes gleaming brightly as if he had ascended to immortality; his hair, like aty tendrils, flew about joyfully and steam was rising from his body.
"Whoa! Ka-ka-ka!"
He shook his head and made strange noises, then exclaid excitedly, "Everyone must play with all your hearts, for I, Mandala, am in till the end."
Sivina clamored, "I don’t care about any of that, I just want to know who my hunk is."
She glanced at Yak and then at Gao Xin.
At that mont, a thick-browed, big-eyed man with a majestic beard approached Gao Xin, "You must be Tai Sui, right? To think I’d actually et you here. Let introduce myself, I’m Li Fengqing from Tangren City, you can call Pervert."
"..." Gao Xin was almost unable to hold back.
A thick-browed, upright-looking guy coming over and calling himself Pervert was just too hard to contain.
Seeing his silence, Black Pearl, holding her head high, laughed, "Your disguise is indeed impressive, but you’ve t your match."
She pointed to Yak, "This has to be the real Yak, because he didn’t even look at the rules!"
"Pfft..." Gao Xin finally couldn’t hold it in any longer and laughed aloud.
"I am Tai Sui, I might as well be honest about it."
He and Yak being in the sa ga, there was really no need to continue the pretense.
There was no point anymore.
Besides, Yak was amazing, not even glancing at the rules when they were announced.
Though by listening one could understand—they all had good mories, and the scanning of the environnt was available—but Angel Envoy Beelzebub, exalted and radiant, even projected the rules text-wise and graphically describing the division of each area and the thod of summoning combat cards. A normal person would at least sneak a peek, right?
But Yak, he did not even lift his head.
Gao Xin looked up to check out this Angel Envoy’s appearance when Lester called out his na, then he carefully read the rules.
The contrast with the real Yak was clear, and everyone there was sharp enough to see through it.
Well, except for Sivina.
She paused, then pointed at Gao Xin, "I said it was you! You still wouldn’t admit it!"
"I entered the ga voluntarily to protect you, co give a kiss!"
She jumped over and wrapped herself around Gao Xin’s neck, hanging onto him.
Since Gao Xin was now very tall, nine ters, making him the tallest person there.
Gao Xin smirked and said, "Alright, I’ll give you a kiss, but you have to listen to during the ga."
"Okay! But I want kisses for the whole ga!" Sivina, overjoyed, planted a hard kiss on Gao Xin.
Then, feeling how hard the exoskeleton was, she suddenly put force into it and tore off Gao Xin’s faceplate!
She pressed a fierce kiss on Gao Xin’s face, with such force that it actually fractured his cheekbone!
"...Is your affection always this lethal?" Gao Xin gritted.
Sivina laughed loudly, "I only broke two of your bones, you can kiss back!"
With that, she moved her face close to Gao Xin’s.
"Hunk, don’t be shy."
Gao Xin sighed deeply and said, "The ga is about to start, and if I break your bones with a kiss, I have to eliminate myself."
No sooner had he spoken than the Angel Envoy announced the official start of the ga.
The ga now entered a peace phase, during which players could not harm any player, or they would be eliminated on the spot.
The Angel Envoy had already sent each player’s identity directly to their nanochips.
Indeed, everyone present had nanochips.
However, the function to login to the virtual world in the ga was disabled.
With a thought, Gao Xin saw his innate identity—a black card with a sentence on it.
"You are naturally a mber of the Black Empire."
Whether it was the identity card or subsequent combat cards, they all followed this format, visible only to the individual.
Gao Xin asked Sivina, "Have you seen your identity?"
"Are you ’Hai Ma’ or ’Wan Kai,’ or perhaps neither?"
Sivina hesitated for a mont, then said, "Of course it’s you, hunk!"
Gao Xin nodded his head, thinking to himself that it had to be blue.
His previous question was about Hai Ma representing white and Wan Kai representing black.
As he and Sivina had been together shortly before they ca here, with Hai Ma and Wan Kai also present, one without clothes, showing fair skin, the other in full black robe.
If Sivina were white, she would answer Hai Ma, black would be answered by Wan Kai, and blue would an neither.
A simple Zen riddle.
Since he and Sivina had just seen the two n, the first impression that ca to mind was a contrast of black and white outlines, making the two colors quite stark.
As for the others who heard these two nas, they didn’t have the sa impression.
In their minds, the two n were definitely not the ones from today. Wan Kai might not represent black, and Hai Ma could also symbolize the blue sea.
"Then, I choose blue for my soul elent," he declared.
Opening a minute still needed selection of soul elents.
After learning Sivina’s elent, Gao Xin imdiately set their peaceful phase "soul elent" to blue.
Since he had resolved to team up with her, it was best to have at least one elent in common.
Souls are hard to change; either beco a traitor or go through starting a war, ceasing it, and only after turning full circle back to the peace phase could you change it again.
But this ga, the first national war might end it all.
This ga, starting a war is easy, but achieving peace is hard; first, all players from the three empires have to agree to cease fighting, then the terms must be negotiated thoroughly.
The likelihood of fighting to the bitter end is very high.
It’s possible to continuously toggle between stopping and starting wars.
Having chosen his soul elent, Gao Xin could see one more identity card, which stated, "You sincerely wish you were a mber of the Green Empire."
Then Gao Xin said to Sivina, "You made it a bit too obvious, use your brain next ti."
Sivina only needed to say it was neither, but instead, she said it was Gao Xin.
That was quite revealing because, unless intentionally changed, Gao Xin’s skin was normally deep blue, sothing everyone probably knew.
"Let’s go to the White Empire," Gao Xin directly headed for the white door representing the White Empire.
Behind the door was the main city hall, and each side had a White Empire stronghold.
The left wing of the White Empire was adjacent to the right wing of the Black Emperor, and the right wing of the White Empire was next to the left wing of the Green Empire.
All nine strongholds were behind the walls, connected in a circular chain, encircling the entire central wilderness.
Everyone was familiar with these terrains, which were actually not much different from the faction layouts on Cri Prison Island in reality.
As he passed by the crowd, except for Yak, everyone greeted him and introduced themselves.
Phoenix undoubtedly belonged to Milan, Pervert Li Fengqing was from Tangren City, also part of the Milan Order.
Mandala was from Evil Dragon Castle, Big White Shark and Sivina from Sea King Port, both under the Evil Dragon Dominion.
Lester belonged to the Crusader Army, Black Pearl was from Lion Hunting Valley, Yak from Eden Garden, and all three were part of Eden Heaven.
Adding Gao Xin, who belonged to no specific force, the backgrounds of the nine were all clearly understood.
Except for Gao Xin initially, no one hid their identity!
However, Gao Xin found it strange, as he had expected it to be like the historical tripartite division, one of three.
It turned out the Milan Order had only two players.
While Gao Xin could theoretically be considered part of the Evil Dragon Dominion, so technically, the Evil Dragon Dominion had four mbers!
Including that two people from Sea King Port had co at the sa ti.
"This match, did they completely disregard balance among real-life factions, or is it..."
As Gao Xin and Sivina walked towards the White Empire, Big White Shark followed them too.
Sivina imdiately shouted, "Don’t co over here, Big White Shark, go play in so other empire!"
"This is my man, I’ve got him covered!"
Big White Shark spread his hands innocently, "Miss, I am a mber of the White Empire."
"And you, you’re naturally from the Green Empire, aren’t you?"
Gao Xin raised an eyebrow, indeed, Sivina had been too blunt; she said her elent was him, Gao Xin, so everyone probably guessed it was blue.
Sarcasm for the sake of being cryptic.
Sivina tilted her head, "You mind your own business, you get out of here, or I’ll beat you up."
Big White Shark was unfazed and followed persistently, "If Miss wants to beat up, I’ll just have to take it, no complaints from ."
Sivina gave him a cold look, naturally not actually going to hit him because that would an insta-kill.
"What do you an by this? He’s from Sea King Port too, even if the identities are temporarily different, we can still collaborate, right?" Gao Xin frowned.
Sivina leaned in close and whispered in his ear, "It’s hard to explain to you, in short, this guy might be sent by my second brother to kill you, his purpose is to try every ans to make you die in this ga!"
Gao Xin was startled, Sea King Port sending the Quasi-Dragon King to woo him on the one hand and people into the ga to kill him on the other? And Sivina coming in to protect him?
"So you guys internally are not unified in your attitude towards ? Heh," Gao Xin suddenly understood.
His heart sank imdiately; he had already planned to side with Sea King Port, as Hai Ma really seed sincere.
But now, it looked ominous; the upper echelons within Sea King Port held differing attitudes towards him, so wanting him dead.
While he could see Hai Ma’s sincerity, what about the malice from Tiger Whale?
If true, then Gao Xin could no longer trust Sea King Port.
Simply put, while the upside potential of Sea King Port was promising, the downside was too great!
Gao Xin was a man who always focused on the worst outcos.
If the worst outco was sothing he couldn’t accept, then no matter how promising the prospects, they were but castles in the air.
If they send soone into a ga to kill him, how could he not always be on guard against these people stabbing him in the back in the future?
