The mont had reached the second intermission, and calculating everyone’s scores was a straightforward task.
Steel Axe paired with Rocket Head, scoring 4 points.
Lin An paired with Iron Hand, scoring 4 points.
Gao Xin paired with Viper, scoring 4 points.
Swamp Crocodile didn’t pair with anyone, scoring 2 points.
Ling Sha had the lowest number, losing 1 point; Black Knight was eliminated, losing another 5 points.
By now, there were six players with 4 points, one player with 2 points, and two players with negative scores.
Among them, Gao Xin, adding his harvest from the first round, had a total of 26 points, the highest in the room, and was far ahead of everyone else.
Swamp Crocodile was stunned; how had he beco the only player with minor points?
And the players with negative points had increased by one.
If he had known this would happen, he would have paired with Black Knight; that way, he would have scored 4 points too.
But there are no what-ifs in life.
Gao Xin had played a trick; he had already co to an agreent with Viper, but upon exit, he still let Viper maintain doubts as if they hadn’t reached an agreent.
After that, it was ti for him to tornt Black Knight, which was also part of the initial plan.
After all, having Black Knight without a pair, losing the minimum 1 point, was in everyone’s best interest.
As for Swamp Crocodile, he cooperated fully, totally ignoring Black Knight and showing that he was ’not a 9’.
At the last mont, Gao Xin suddenly agreed to pair with Black Knight.
To this, the others were indifferent, because even if he paired with Black Knight, it was J who would lose points.
Unexpectedly, his ultimate goal was to pair with Viper at the last mont.
Ling Sha thought Viper would pair with her, and Black Knight thought Gao Xin would pair with him, both powerless to stop it.
By the ti Viper paired with Gao Xin, only two seconds remained.
Black Knight could only pair with J, and Ling Sha could only resort to force to stop them, yet she was blocked by Gao Xin.
By then, the situation was settled.
"Viper, you actually believed he was number 6?" Ling Sha furrowed her brows.
She didn’t have an outburst; one negative point was sothing she could afford.
Ling Sha and Lin An were players with staunch allies who could betray their own ranks.
She just couldn’t understand why Viper would cooperate with Gao Xin to such an extent?
Cooperation was one thing; after all, as a 4-6 pair, they were supposed to be a match this round.
But how could Viper be so sure that Gao Xin was number 6?
"Haha, Ling Sha, Tai Sui saw through all your moves," Viper sneered. "I genuinely couldn’t distinguish between you two at first and didn’t want to trust Tai Sui."
"But he told that you would definitely threaten with zero points."
"So I ca out and purposefully acted uncertain, not pairing with you."
"Yet, you said, ’Doesn’t matter, let’s all score zero together.’"
"That... is not the attitude of a number 6 player, but that of a number 5."
Ling Sha spoke in a solemn voice, "Again with the attitude? Are there really such mystical attitudes?"
"Just because I didn’t care about scoring zero, you concluded I was number 5?"
"Does being number 6 necessarily an I have to beg to pair with you?"
"You wouldn’t pair with anyway, so what’s wrong with us both getting zero? That’s just my nature; is it not normal?"
Viper laughed, wearing an expression of ’you’re still thinking that way,’ ready to explain.
But Gao Xin waved his hand, "Enough, if she hasn’t caught on yet, then there’s no need to tell her."
"She never considered herself as number 6 in her heart, so slipping up was inevitable."
Ling Sha couldn’t help biting her lip – what was it? Where had she slipped up?
Damn it, Gao Xin wouldn’t tell her.
Three tis now, this guy had grasped her ntality and guessed her intentions.
The first ti he guessed she was 10, the second ti he predicted her desire to draw; those were traceable, one could say Gao Xin was clever.
But this third ti, Gao Xin managed to make Viper realize she was number 5, implying that she definitely had a slip, a mistake on her part.
Where had she failed to consider?
Biting through her lip without finding the answer, she licked the blood.
She challenged Viper, "You just trusted that he was 6 based on that one sentence?"
"What kind of nonsense attitude is that? Are you saying there was no guesswork involved? Aren’t you afraid of falling into Tai Sui’s trap and betting wrong?"
Viper burst into laughter, "Let’s just say I was betting, even if I bet wrong, I don’t lose anything, haha."
"At that ti, one of you was definitely number 5, and the other number 6. In any case, both were players I, number 4, could match with."
"Just didn’t expect that such a little trick would expose you... ha ha ha."
"Seems like what Tai Sui said was right, you aren’t as in control as you seem, it’s all just your wishful thinking."
This remark made Ling Sha extrely uncomfortable.
Her playstyle was always flamboyant, controlling the ga, manipulating everyone.
Yet Gao Xin could casually help soone else see through her ntality, identify her lies.
Suddenly, her invincible, confident facade was shattered.
"Tch... So Viper...are you going to team up with Tai Sui now?" Ling Sha stopped obsessing and directly questioned coldly.
Viper moved next to Rocket Head, "Of course not, it’s nothing more than sharing points."
"Now...the cooperation is over, Tai Sui, it’s your turn to die!"
Gao Xin calmly responded, "Oh? Are you few going to split my money then?"
Viper scanned Steel Axe, Iron Hand, Rocket Head, and finally, his gaze rested on Lin An.
He quickly clarified the interests of their rankings, anxious that anyone was still confused about how to cooperate.
The scores had already divided the players into teams.
Only players with the sa scores could collaborate; lower-scoring players that forced themselves in were akin to handing over the prize pool.
"Of course, it’s the five of us with 4 points, Lin An, what do you say!"
