A few minutes passed. The n around Lyrian and the fatty continued to give them so tips on how to survive in the Dark Lands.

Afterward, the other n dispersed as Jeol led Lyrian and the fat young man to a place of lodging.

They went past a wall consisting of the back walls of a few tents and tin houses that had a passage in the middle.

On doing so, they entered what seed to be a small courtyard surrounded by various small tents and tin houses in a square shape.

"Since you guys are new, you can stay at my place for a few weeks until you get accustod to living out here..." Jeol said with a slight sigh.

From the look on his face, it seed he didn’t want these two idiots in his house, but he was too kind to do anything else.

The fatty quickly thanked him, "T-thank you, sir!" He bowed his head deeply.

Jeol looked at Lyrian, who nodded his head slightly to show gratitude.

Jeol left before showing them anything inside. As he walked away he said, "Don’t ss anything up. You two will be sleeping on the floor. Also, if you make it to the First Layer of Genesis, you can move on to the Servant Sect. There’s a basic technique on top of the table... try it if you want. It didn’t work for , but maybe it will for you. It’s not illegal to cultivate here."

Both Lyrian and the fat guy entered Jeol’s house, which was a small box made of tin that was also connected to another tent in the back, making for 2 rooms barely enough for one person each.

The rooms both were about 2 ters by 2 ters. Enough for a bed and a table and nothing else.

As soon as they entered, the fatty sat down on the ground and suddenly broke out into a flurry of tears.

He put his palms into his face as he cried away.

Lyrian instead started to look around the place with his hands on his hips, seemingly ignoring the fatty.

"Look... I know you’re young and I’m far older so I should be the one not crying and you the one balling your eyes out, but you have to understand... I had my whole life ahead of ."

The fatty sniffed and snorted.

"Why do you say ’had’?" Lyrian spoke at that mont, still inspecting the house.

"Huh?" The fatty looked up at Lyrian.

"You heard what Jeol said. We can get out of this place as long as we can cultivate and go to the Servant Sect. Get cultivating."

"B-but... I don’t know how to cultivate."

"Use the technique." Lyrian picked up the book that was on top of Jeol’s table and handed it to the fatty.

"Thanks..." The fatty grabbed it. "My na is Fam, by the way. Fam Ha."

"Lyrian Theageld."

"Right..."

Fam was slightly thrown off by how seemingly cold the young boy was.

However, the kid was speaking facts. Fam quickly got to reading. He had nothing left to lose at that point.

Lyrian went to the tent area to inspect it. There was nothing in there except for so clothing on the floor and also another bed.

’Two beds? Hm.’

He stepped back out into the main tin room and sat down across the room from Fam.

Lyrian decided firstly that he would spend ti cultivating. He wanted to test out the cultivation speed in this realm.

In a ditation position, he quickly began to cultivate away. Cerberus expanded and began to capture mana, as the two Daemons that he had powered the beast.

[Mana retrieval amount has doubled in comparison to before]

’Oh... is that so? Well, I suppose it makes sense. I doubt many people are cultivating down here, so spare mana is left pri for the taking. That’s good news then.’

Sol decided he was going to cultivate away the rest of this day which was already coming to an end.

Soon, nightti ca when most people returned to their hos.

So, however, were still slaving away, whether it be for punishnts or just simply wanting to earn more food.

Jeol hadn’t returned either when Lyrian and Fam decided to go to sleep.

But Lyrian valued sleep far more than that, so he dozed off quite easily.

Out of nowhere in the middle of the night, Lyrian was abruptly awoken by a loud screaming noise.

He sat up, ’Nova?’ He mused in confusion. ’No. He didn’t co into this realm with . Then... what is that? It sounded like a person’s yell.’

Just then, more of the noises began to co.

"No! No no no! I don’t want to do this!"

’Fam?’ Lyrian thought to himself on hearing this voice from the tent room.

"Don’t want to do this!? How else do you think you’re going to live here you fat little cupcake!"

’That’s Jeol...’ Almost instantly, Lyrian knew what was going on.

"Please! I’d rather die than have this happen to !"

"You think I’d let a fresh one like you go to waste? Co here!"

Rustling sounded from the tent as if Joel lunged forward and Fam avoided him, rolling away.

Lyrian slowly stood up and stretched out his arms, ’I guess I have no other choice but to help.’

He mused, as he suddenly sensed the presence of a few people outside.

’Guards? I guess this entire sector is used to Jeol doing this to the new guys. Probably why they were so quiet when he spoke back then... this explains quite a bit.’

Sol turned around, heading for the tent. At that mont, Fam yelled,

"What about that kid!? Will you traumatize him like this!?"

Jeol quickly retorted with a smile on his face, still attempting to grab the fatty.

"That one? He will be delicious."

Fam’s face turned as pale as a ghost,

"H-him too? You’d do this to a kid?" He stopped in place.

At that mont, the tent door flap flew open. Lyrian stepped inside, cracking his fists.

"What the fuck did you say about ?"

At that mont Lyrian didn’t hesitate to unleash the bloodlust of his creatures directly towards Jeol.
