Braelyn’s POV

Silvia’s sudden resignation felt suspicious and made wary. In the end, there wasn’t much I could do about it. I didn’t have her contact information, since in all she was still a maid, and speaking to Raphael wouldn’t amount to much.

"Dinner is ready," a soft voice inford from the door. I let out a soft sigh then stood up from the bed. I had no idea of what to expect.

Soft chatter could be heard from the table, as expected Raphael was back with Alia. My eyes lingered on her a bit longer, noticing she was seated at the normal spot, usually close to Raphael.

I pursed my lips and did not bother to say much. She could have the seat for all I care, I didn’t want to sit close to Raphael anyway.

They seed lost in their world, or were probably ignoring . The chair creaked against the floor as I took the seat farthest from them, opposite Raphael.

A stiff smile graced my lips once I saw the sa miso soup that triggered my symptoms on the table. Most of the als selected were either unhealthy or items I didn’t like.

Raphael knew I was a picky eater and was aware of my peculiar taste. Was he in on this just to get a reaction? I smirked.

The salmon was cooked with asparagus, which I didn’t like. I called for a maid. "Do you have any other thing in the kitchen?" I asked her,

Before she could reply, Alia, who had been helping Raphael pick out items, chid in.

"I hope you don’t mind the nu changes. You know Raph and I are trying for a baby so I had to be careful with our diet." She shalessly said. I nodded at her then glanced at the maid.

"The kitchen spent all day preparing this al. We don’t have anything else, although I can get the chef to prepare sothing else." I glanced at the table, most of the als took a lot of ti and effort to prepare. It was truly a sha it wasn’t to my taste.

"It’s fine I will just order sothing online." I chid and then gracefully stood up. Raphael’s gaze followed . Alia’s lips twitched.

She still forced a smile and chid. "I’m sorry if none of them are to your liking. I didn’t have any other intentions." Her words were so pretentious that she could bite her tongue

"The chef and Raphael are aware of my taste and it’s fine. Enjoy your al and make sure you work extra hard on that baby. " I gave a curt reply.

" I sure will." She answered then held Raphael’s hand. "I really didn’t an any harm. I had no idea Braelyn didn’t like this al..." She pleaded then glanced at with pleading eyes.

"Please don’t bla the chef I had insisted on the nu out of goodwill." She added.

I snorted at her not ready to waste a second more on her antics. Raphael’s voice spoke behind with a strange tolerance I haven’t heard in a while.

"You should at least try sothing. You have always been a picky eater and hate take-out...." He suggested acting as the diator.

I didn’t reply and walked straight out of the dining area. I later placed an order for pizza which was to be delivered soon then stayed in my room to avoid them

While waiting for the pizza to arrive, I went online to check if the trends were still up. Surprisingly it was gone, all the blogs that had posted it had taken it down and it could only be found on Genny’s account mixed up with a pile of other photos

Everywhere had gone silent like it never happened. I smiled, soone had obviously taken care of that. I suspected that Raphael was usually calm and quiet throughout the entire process.

Having rumours against his wife was going to affect the company’s public image?

(Your delivery has arrived.) My phone buzzed with a notification. I quickly got out of bed to get the pizza.

There wasn’t any sign of Raphael or Alia on the ground floor; they must be busy upstairs. After accepting the pizza delivery I moved to the kitchen to get a plate and a glass of wine to go with it.

My soft hums filled the kitchen while I continued munching on the pizza.

"You are really going to pretend like nothing happened." A deep voice echoed from the doorway. I jolted, and the slice of pizza in my hand fell on the floor, startled by the sudden intrusion.

"Raphael," I gasped surprised by his appearance. I drew in a deep breath. "When did you get there? I almost had a heart attack." I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

He stood leaning against the fra, his eyes were studying like he was trying to read my mind.

"Long enough," he replied. He straightened up his gaze falling on the glass of wine. A weird smirk on his lips.

"What do you want? " I hissed at him trying to ignore him. He didn’t move from where he stood.

"It’s my ho, I don’t rember needing permission to move around...." He explained, my jaw clenched.

"I guess I will have to move out." I snorted knowing that wasn’t going to be easy. Raphael scoffed reading through ..

"We need to talk..." Raphael stated, My skin crawled. I had no intentions of listening to whatever he had to say.

"We don’t have anything to talk about," I said. The wine slid down my throat the slight burning feeling made my nose scrunch up

Raphael clicked his tongue, "First, you start your ga with Lucien and the post-ambiguous pictures online...you know your behaviour would reflect on the company..."

So that’s what this is about. "It’s just a picture, Don’t tell you are jealous." I shrugged. My nonchalance was getting under his skin pretty well.

"It wasn’t just a picture Braelyn." His footsteps rushed towards . Raphael’s presence was very close but I chose to ignore it.

I tilted the glass to my lips to take another sip. Raphael reached for the glass, and I backed away on ti to avoid him.

"What do you want? You asked for an open marriage and I gave that to you. You moved your mistress into the place that is ant to be my sanctuary and I said nothing..." I snapped, there were still a lot of things burning in my chest I wanted to let out.

"I thought you were pretending to be a tough nut." He sneered then added. "I can’t keep Alia in another place. The press might catch up to it, and you know how vital this child is — for both of us...".

I stared at him dumbfounded. It took a while before I could find the words. "Was it really about having a child Raphael? Can you swear on your life you weren’t having an affair with her beforehand?"

My hand was trembling.

"If you always loved her then why did you agree to marry ?"

I needed him to understand why. He knew her before , so why didn’t he choose her?

Raphael was thrown off by my outburst. "It’s complicated, Alia can never be my wife."

The room froze, What!? A sob followed. "What do you an, Raphael?" Alia whimpered from the door.
