Lucien’s POV

Alia was dumbfounded, her face tightened then several emotions flickered by as she searched for a retort. I didn’t stop and continued dismantling her act.

"You took drugs to fake the pregnancy symptoms and put on a convincing act for Natalia. I almost laughed when your pregnancy was announced," I continued. "It worked perfectly for you though. You destroyed Lynn’s trust in Raphael without lifting a finger."

"You are lying," she repeated, but her voice was weaker now. There was this sheer desperation that amused .

"As of four pm today," I started with a relaxed expression like I had everything under control which I did, "I bought this hospital. Every doctor here has been investigated. Including the one who handled your fake scan."

I picked up the remote and turned on the television. The screen flickered before settling on a recording.

A doctor sat under harsh lighting, sweat visible on his forehead as he spoke. His voice shook as he confessed everything. The falsified reports, the staged pregnancy and the fabricated miscarriage. Every detail is laid out without room for denial.

Alia stared at the screen, her expression frozen. She never imagined she would be exposed like this.

When the video ended, silence filled the room again. "So what?" she said suddenly, her tone sharp despite the fear in her eyes. "I faked a pregnancy. What does that have to do with you?" she gave a justified look.

I chuckled softly. "You forgot the part where you staged your own kidnapping and assault just to bla just to fake a miscarriage. You thought you could make the scapegoat," I said. "And in the process, soone actually tried to kill ."

My jaw tightened slightly as the mory surfaced, but I pushed it aside. My jaw clenched rembering Alia’s ga had destroyed so much including Lynn’s pregnancy but he wasn’t telling Alia that.

" Didn’t they ever tell you not to ss with the Orlov family? Even the Volkovs are scared of that na yet a nobody from you tried to fra ." My voice turned ice cold. Her body was trembling.

" What do you want?" Alia asked thinking that it could save her.

" You can’t give what I want but I am here to settle scores. I wouldn’t get rid of you imdiately. The likes of you will only be a stubborn stain." I said condescendingly. Death would be too easy for her.

"You don’t get to play gas with ," I added. Her gaze flickered but she couldn’t hold my gaze. "But that’s not all you did, is it?" I continued with a smile. Although I didn’t have evidence for everything, I had enough to destroy her

Her head lifted slightly, cautious now. "Do you rember Sylvia?" I asked and her gaze shifted. She tried to hide it but miserably failed. "The maid you paid for five years to drug Braelyn so she would never conceive and would eventually be diagnosed with PCOS."

Her face went still. "Sylvia has been found," I went on. "She confessed to everything."

I stepped closer, watching her carefully. "You used her well," I said. "Her greed and resentnt. You exploited it perfectly."

Her lips trembled slightly, but she said nothing. "And then there’s Richard," I continued. "The man you used to stage Lynn’s betrayal."

Her breathing hitched. "You made him act as Lynn’s lover," I said. "But the woman he kissed wasn’t Lynn. It was Sylvia. Convenient, considering they share a similar build."

I paused briefly before adding, "She also happens to be related to Lynn’s mother’s family. Avelina’s cousin’s granddaughter."

Her silence confird everything. "You are good at this," I said quietly. "Finding people’s weaknesses and using them."

For a mont, neither of us spoke.

It was a sha that the late Dominic didn’t do a proper investigation while hiring staff. I also found out while investigating Sylvia the truth behind Avelina’s ntal decline. It was triggered by the hallucinogenic drugs a maid gave her. That maid was Sylvia’s mother. The drugs combined with her guilt destroyed her.

The Alderheim family hated Avelina after Dominic seized back Avelina’s inheritance leaving them with nothing. So the maid changed her identity to get into Dominic’s household. She was close and obedient to gain Avelina’s trust all because she hated the fact that Avelina married well and left them in poverty.

The drugs unfortunately, weren’t the only thing. She also perford a voodoo to curse. Avelina. That curse made Nadia’s ghost haunt Avelina completely ruining her...

My jaw ticked with irritation. Just the thought of how my mother’s ghost was trapped for soone’s revenge made my blood boil.

I wouldn’t have found out if Lynn wasn’t suspicious of Sylvia and honestly when I saw the similar fra Sylvia and Lynn had my doubt started to grow. Braelyn wasn’t aware of this yet. This information was extracted from brutal torture that Lynn couldn’t see.

Sylvia confessed to everything. She hated Lynn that’s how Alia got to her. Alia told her that if Raphael leaves Lynn, Braelyn would be destroyed.

My gaze returned to Alia who was paler than before. Lynn never betrayed Raphael. "Lynn never betrayed Raphael," I said finally. "You destroyed their marriage for your own gain. If you want I can also show you Sylvia’s torture clips."

Sothing in her snapped. She let out a sharp, hysterical laugh.

"And what if I did?" she shot back. "Isn’t that a good thing? You wouldn’t have had a chance if they stayed together. Lynn was head over heels for him." There wasn’t a shred of guilt in her tone.

I went quiet for a mont, then exhaled slowly. "I love her," I said, my tone steady. "But if she had been happy with him, I wouldn’t have destroyed that. It would make her hate and unlike you, I can’t bear the one I love to loathe . I wouldn’t destroy her happiness as long as she smiles. I might be ruthless but I am not a monster to destroy my nephew’s marriage"

That struck a chord. Raphael loathes Alia from the start of this ga. She always knew but lived in delusion enjoying how the one who had his heart suffered.

She laughed again, louder this ti. "You are a hypocrite, Lucien," she spat. "You are obsessed. You would have done worse."

I ignored that. Instead, I asked, " Suit yourself but I have a question." I paused to study her face. " How did you know the truth about my mother’s death?"

Her laughter faded.

"How did you know Avelina was involved?" I continued. "Were you the one who tipped off the Orlovs?"
