Braelyn’s POV

Lucien’s car stopped at the main entrance of the headquarters building. After whatever happened between us this morning we realised we actually have jobs although I was certain Lucien didn’t want to be near this building his every action says so

I kind of felt sorry for Volkov Apex holdings, for having soone like him as an executive. I wondered if his goal was to run the company into bankruptcy.

"You can go ahead. I will go around to pack the car." Lucien chid, I nodded at him, about to step out of the car. His hand wrapped around my wrist and he pulled closer

My heart leapt startled by the sudden move. Lucien’s lips pressed against my cheek with a soft peck. I imdiately shot him a glare, this was the company. We couldn’t play those gas here

What if soone saw us? Lucien chuckled under my glare. Honestly, it felt like I was having a legit affair.

My thoughts rolled her imaginary eyes at . ’ You literally just gave him a blow job and he fucked you with his gun.’

Yep, this was like a crazy hot affair. My face burned with my glare sharpened. It would take a long ti for to forget what it felt like. My fold clenched at the mont just thinking about it

Lord help ..."Don’t act silly.." I hissed at him, and he smiled carelessly, flashing those perfect dimples.

"At least you didn’t say you hate it." He chid.

"The nerves you have..." I snickered at him, stepping out of the car.

"Make sure to think of and that gun." Lucien’s words faded as I closed the door and he drove off. The hot sun burned against my skin. It was pretty hot for an autumn morning

I made my way through the door. A wave of astonishnt flickered across the main desk secretary’s eyes once she saw walk through the door

"Good morning Mrs Volkov," she greeted.

"Morning," I replied, walking towards the elevator, not missing the look of shock and relief on the other staff mber’s eyes. We exchanged pleasantries. It was as if they didn’t expect to show up today.

I guess it was related to yesterday’s event. I got into the elevator along with other staff. They were all still talking about the bizarre event yesterday.

"I heard the manager’s wife got stuck in the elevator after the power shortage," soone whispered. There were similar stories like that. It has been over a decade since the city was plagued by sudden power issues, and it left so parts in chaos.

Last night was pretty chaotic for everyone including . The lift doors slid open at my floor where I ca across more familiar faces. From the rumours I heard Alia’s launch was a success. I scoffed at that thought as my mind trailed to the strange incident about the photograph.

"Good morning Ma’am," my secretary imdiately got on her feet the mont she saw walk through the door.

"Good morning Juliet..."I chid, "Bring the morning reports to my office." I instructed before closing the door behind .

I imdiately hung my coat on the brass tree. It was weirdly hot for an autumn day and I was regretting even wearing this coat. I made my way to my desk and slouched in the chair. My hands adjusted the shirt, which was a bit short. I didn’t know why I trusted Lucien with picking out an outfit for .

I was pretty late this morning since we both forgot we had jobs, and he had to shop online for so clothes I could wear to get to work. A faint knock echoed on the door before it was pushed open. A blonde ca in carrying a cup of coffee and so files. Juliet was a few years younger than . A Fresh graduate, but that didn’t affect her productivity. She knew how to handle the door.

She gave a soft smile which lit in her brown eyes as she dropped the fresh coffee before . The rich aroma wafted towards my nose

"These are the reports, including the latest collaboration with the Voss group." She said, My eyes darkened. Although I was the one personally handling Alia’s project I still had to supervise it

I grabbed my coffee mug taking a slow sip. "Anything else..." I asked. She stood for a mont as if trying to dig up sothing then her eyes lit.

"The Vice Chairman requested you report to his office with our monthly report, which I have already organised. It is within the stack." She said, My face softened into a smile

She was a lifesaver. "Thank you Juliet. Keep around the clock if anything cos up." She nodded and left the office. I quickly picked out our monthly report to ensure everything was in place. Although I hated this family, I still loved my job, which was a bit twisted.

*****

A few minutes later, I found myself on the executive floor where Raphael’s office was located. I haven’t been in his office for a while

"Good morning Mrs Volkov," his secretary greeted. "Good morning.."

"Are you here to see the vice chairman?" I nodded at her, not sparing another word, and I stepped into the large office, which every inch oozed masculinity.

His office was a dark the with the only vibrant colours being a flower vase I got for him when he started working officially at the company. I thought he had thrown that thing away but who knew he carried it to his new office

The Vice Chairman’s office was pretty cosy. Raphael wasn’t at his desk; I guess he was probably using the restroom. I walked towards his desk to drop the report, and I was about to sit down when sothing popped into my mind.

I anxiously glanced at the restroom door before moving around his desk. There were a couple of files, and I quickly flipped through them trying to find anything that had information about what Ronan was whispering about

The company was facing a potential crisis, and only he and his father knew. Seconds went by quickly my hands shook subtly scared he might catch

I hoped his office didn’t have a cara because what I was doing was careless but I doubt Raphael checks them regularly

There wasn’t any suspicion. I expected this to be the case. He wouldn’t keep such information carelessly..

My eyes swept around the table and fell on his laptop which had the ho screen on. He was using it not too long ago. My eyes lit up, I brushed my fingers on the warm keys and started to try his password

I knew Raphael’s old password; there was no way that jerk hadn’t changed it. I imdiately typed in Alia’s birthday

Wrong password, the red notification blinked

My eyes twitched. With a wishful thought, I tried the old password, which was our wedding anniversary. As expected it didn’t work.

I gritted my teeth. What was this man’s password?

I tried his birthday, typing fast. It also didn’t work. At this ti I was frustrated. At of annoyance I tried another date although I knew this would also fail

After pressing the enter button the screen unexpectedly opened. My eyes went wide. His password was my birthday. What the fuck?

I bent over to investigate, but unfortunately, before I could even do anything. I heard a shuffling noise from behind the restroom door. He was done.

I quickly moved away from his laptop. As I tapped the power off key. Raphael stepped out and his eyes imdiately fell on . I almost died at that spot.

"What are you doing?"
