25, Selling Pouches (2nd Update)

For this reason, Xie Zhinuan even made a point to take a sniff, detecting no scent whatsoever.

“Can’t the young lady sll it?”

Xie Zhinuan shook her head.

She didn’t pay much attention to it, as long as it wasn’t a foul sll, it was fine.

Seeing that it was still early, she arranged with Azhu to go out to the street to have a look. She intended to sell the embroidered Lotus Bag she made; the fabric had been provided by the old Ni family. After selling the pouches, she would have to buy so fabric, exchange the silver note for Silver, and she also wanted to buy two puppies to raise. Once the house was fixed, they would be big dogs, ready to guard the ho when they moved in.

Since they were going out, Azhu had to report to Madam Yuan first, who then instructed Donghua to follow. Donghua would be there to carry things and also to keep an eye on Xie Zhinuan.

Yuanji’s store was located on a busy street, and stepping outside brought them imdiately to various shops, with a cloth store being particularly close. Xie Zhinuan, carrying her bundle, entered.

The shopkeeper, recognizing Donghua, called out “Young Master Dong.”

He then asked Xie Zhinuan, “Is the young lady here to buy fabric?”

“I’ll sell sothing first, then buy fabric!” said Xie Zhinuan as she opened the bundle.

She handed over a pouch to the shopkeeper. “Shopkeeper, how much do you think this pouch is worth?”

“…”

The shopkeeper was initially sowhat casual, but upon seeing the embroidery pattern of the Lotus Bag Hill clearly, he imdiately beca serious.

With the pattern, the color matching, and the embroidery skills, this pouch, if taken to the capital, could sell for at least a tael of silver.

“How much does the young lady plan to sell each for?” the shopkeeper inquired.

Carefully hiding the shock in his heart.

Provided that Xie Zhinuan’s asking price was not outrageous, he would purchase them.

“This is my first ti selling pouches, and you, shopkeeper, do this business all year round. Please make an offer; if it’s reasonable, I’ll sell these pouches to you!” Xie Zhinuan said earnestly.

She also did not know the market price for the pouches, nor did she know anything about this world; she had to feel her way through everything.

The amount was not what she cared about; getting familiar with this world was what mattered.

After hesitating for a mont, the shopkeeper spoke in a soft voice, “Two hundred wen each, how does that sound to the young lady?”

Upon hearing two hundred wen, Azhu’s eyes widened.

Incredulous, she looked at Xie Zhinuan.

She only earned five wen for making one pouch…

“Good!” Xie Zhinuan promptly agreed.

Such pouches, she could easily make two in one day; four hundred wen could buy quite a few stead buns and stuffed buns, more than enough for her to live comfortably for a day.

And she only had eight pouches on hand; the amount of money was not really a big concern.

Eight pouches, totaling one thousand six hundred wen, Xie Zhinuan used it all to buy fabric.

She chose several colors of fine cotton fabric, all in light shades, and she also purchased plenty of embroidery threads, scissors, large and small needles, and finally decided to buy a few yards of silk to make pouches for sale. It might not earn much, but at least it was inco.

During leisure ti, it would also pass the ti.

Upon calculating the cost, it added up to nearly ten taels of silver. Xie Zhinuan handed over a fifty-tael silver note; the shopkeeper, looking sowhat surprised yet keeping a calm deanor, accepted the silver note and went to get the change for Xie Zhinuan.

Three ten-tael notes, ten one-tael notes, sixteen one-hundred-wen notes, and five fifty-wen notes-all placed in a plain-colored pouch.

Inside the pouch now lay all of her assets!

After buying fabric, Xie Zhinuan didn’t have much else to purchase.

Pots, pans, and the like could wait to be bought after the house was fixed up.

“Let’s head back!”

Azhu felt a bit disappointed upon hearing this, thinking she could wander around outside a bit more.

After returning to Yuanji’s backyard, Xie Zhinuan found so pure white cotton fabric and began asuring and cutting out patterns to make two sets of undergarnts.

When it ca to undergarnts, she had her reservations; it was better to wear those made by herself.
