Rustle rustle—

The wind stirs the grass, and shadows dance through the trees.

Two red lanterns flicker in and out of sight in the dark night; this place is located in Red Grass County, a full six hundred miles from the foot of Zixiao Mountain.

Twenty-eight miles outside the county, that dilapidated temple still hangs red lanterns, shining in the night like the eyes of a wild beast, intensely conspicuous and sending a shiver down the spine just by looking at them.

A young man whose appearance bore a hint of world-weariness strides forward, his eyes brightening especially upon seeing the flickering lights in the dark night.

Though the youth was young, his attire suggested that of a cultivator hidden away in the mountains; his face appeared sowhat unkempt with the passing of ti, but he still looked youthful and handso.

With a longsword strapped to his back, three feet three inches and three milliters in length, sharpened on both sides, but sohow, it looked odd—it was narrower by over an inch compared to a usual sword. It would be more appropriate to call it a stick.

Hmm... a fire-poking stick.

He was about to step onto the staircase when his foot trod on sothing unknown, and with a sudden misstep, he stumbled but regained his balance.

"Master~ you must be careful, if you were to hurt yourself, how could you spoil in the future~"

He felt goosebumps all over.

First, he looked down at what his foot had stepped on, and his expression changed instantly, he hastily retreated, his face showing a trace of apology as he bowed slightly.

"Sorry, buddy, I accidentally stomped a hole in your crotch just now. You won’t mind, right? After all, we’re all brothers. Next life, for sure, you can grow a better one, don’t hold it against ."

"Pfft~ Master, with that stomp, I’m afraid they won’t let you off even as a ghost."

She couldn’t help but chuckle with a snicker.

Her eyes narrowed into slits, and the coquettish voice carried a seductive tone, just listening to it set the heart racing. It was clear that the woman behind him was...

"I an, Sister Lu Luo, you usually claim to be a disciple of Purple Cloud Immortal Palace and insist on calling ’master’ and playing the maid, to avoid shaming the sect, but now you seem to have beco addicted to it, and besides, I’m not old, am I?"

Jiang Feng sighed helplessly.

He had left the mountain about six months ago.

For soone like Jiang Feng, spending every day in the sect with cultivation was like being in prison. His daily life was cyclical: wake up in the morning for a fight with Bai Yu, then head to Spirit Cave for cultivation, go ho, and then get thrashed by his senior sister.

With Elixirs complenting his training, the rate of his cultivation growth could only be described as incredible. After about eight months of the sa routine, and having just achieved a breakthrough in his realm, he went to ask his senior sister whether he could take on so missions at Immortal Pavilion and venture down the mountain for so experience.

His senior sister was straightforward; without another word, she allowed him to... well, leave quickly. But after descending the mountain, Jiang Feng just happened to encounter soone, to be exact, a disciple sent out by the sect on a mission.

However, this person was now listed under Swordmaster Peak.

"What? You’re not happy about it? Hey, when I worked as a courtesan at Ethereal Violet Pavilion, many n spent a fortune just to take ho, all for a chance to hear call them ’master.’ And you, you don’t seem to appreciate it."

She put her hands on her hips,

Glaring defiantly at the young man in front of her. The two had known each other for quite so ti, starting from Qingshui County and have been in touch ever since. It seems they had even spent the night together on more than one occasion.

Although nothing had really happened between them, leaving a particular woman of pleasure rather disappointed, they were both more than happy to see each other afterward.

Due to concerns over reputation, Lu Luo, though loud-mouthed, was actually very thoughtful. She knew strutting up to Swordmaster Peak would invite gossip from people with ulterior motives.

Putting on airs on a regular day was one thing, but Liu Tangxi had been kind to her and her sisters, bringing them back from the distant frontier. Moreover, upon their return, each was rewarded with an Elixir as a token of gratitude for taking care of Jiang Feng during that period.

So after returning, she chose to linger around the Main Peak and the sect, casually visiting Immortal Pavilion, earning so Spirit Stones for cultivation, and then descending the mountain to help complete so sect duties.

This was quite interesting. Although the sect assigned a quota to each person each month, the quota did not necessarily have to be fulfilled by the person themselves. In other words, if other disciples needed to go into seclusion or focus on cultivation,

They could entrust the task to other disciples, as long as the latter were willing. Consequently, it led to Su Yi being responsible for caring for the younger brothers and sisters, as well as the daily needs of the Peak Master on the mountain.

Lu Luo, on the other hand, took on the task of completing the sect quotas for Jiang Feng, Lin Jiangxian, and Su Yi. Even though it sounded strenuous, the rewards were tangible, and with her vivacious nature, staying in the sect for secluded cultivation certainly didn’t suit her.

By the ti Jiang Feng descended the mountain and they encountered each other, half a year had passed in the blink of an eye.

"Alright, alright, you can call however you want. Speaking of which... Sister Lu Luo, can you recite the Rebirth Mantra?"

"Hmm?"

She tilted her head.

Then, very decisively, she dropped two words,

"I can’t." Looking again at the body whose crotch Jiang Feng accidentally shattered, "Even if I could, I wouldn’t do it. Humph, let their ghost chase after you and bite."

"You..."

He rolled his eyes exasperatedly.

He honestly moved the body on the ground to the side, but it was only upon reaching out that Jiang Feng realized the true state of these bodies.

Their faces were as withered as dried bark, their bodies emaciated, hair fallen out—looking every bit like thirty-year-old programrs. Around him, he noticed at least dozens of bodies discarded, each one drained of moisture.

Particularly, none of these bodies wore any clothing, and even more crucially, the lower parts were in complete disarray. The fragile appearance that seed to crumble in the wind made it clear that these were victims of excessive indulgence.
