"Everyone... is the backbone of the army!"

Major General Luo Zhenjiang’s voice echoed in the austere eting hall, carrying the weight of steel.

He looked around at the officers about to enter the labyrinth on their mission, his eyes, weathered with experience, stirred with complex emotions hard to describe.

If it weren’t for the tense situation on the western front needing to match the progress on the eastern front and complete the Governor’s Mansion’s "pincer encirclent" tactic.

Luo Zhenjiang would never want to press all the top forces of the western front in just to seek a breakthrough in the labyrinth!

The lieutenant general took a deep breath, a sound that was exceptionally clear in the pin-drop silent eting hall.

Then, he slowly opened his mouth, delivering not just an unmistakable order but also imbued with the solemnity and trust of a veteran:

"Every one of you is the sharpest blade and the toughest shield of our Dongxia western line.

Many among you will have the opportunity to make great achievents in the Battle Group and enter the Dongxia Military Departnt...

But if the labyrinth isn’t broken, Heng Province will be in peril!

If the ’Mother of All Wisdom’ is not eliminated, there will be no day of advancent for the western line!"

Major General Luo Zhenjiang abruptly lifted his right hand, fingers together like a blade, heavily and slowly resting them beside his temple.

This standard military salute, honored with the weight of mountains.

"Your departure is not for personal acclaim nor military rank glory, but for the millions of people in Heng Province!"

His voice suddenly lifted, like the clash of tal and stone, emanating resolute determination and indisputable trust.

"I, Luo Zhenjiang, on behalf of all the people of Heng Province — thank you for your courage! Also thank you for your... sacrifice!"

As soon as the word "thank" was spoken, it was like a heavy hamr striking down, sonorous and powerful.

Luo Zhenjiang maintained the salute position, his head slightly bowed.

This is the greatest gratitude the lieutenant general, as the pillar of the western line, can express to every officer participating in the Breaking Army Operation.

Within the eting hall, the air solidified like lead, a wave of unspoken yet intense emotions surged in everyone’s hearts.

Among them, the three leading field-grade officers stood out, Shi Zhailin abruptly stiffened his back, and spoke solemnly:

"Soldiers serve, defend the borders, protect the holand, it is their duty!"

Others echoed in agreent.

Luo Zhenjiang didn’t conduct much "pre-battle mobilization," lowered the saluting hand, and began announcing the grouping list:

"First Dagger Team, led by Colonel Shi Zhailin, responsible for ’Red Ridge’ incursion point, mbers as follows, Major Zhao Feng, Captain Li Rui, Captain Chen Gang..."

One na after another was read out, the officers called retained a somber look without fear.

Second Dagger Team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Yuan Jiu, responsible for ’Muddy Stream’ incursion point, mbers as follows, Major Lin Zhen, Captain Sun Haitao..."

"Third Dagger Team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Gu Xiaong, responsible for ’Rift Valley’ incursion point, mbers as follows, Major Wang Hui, Qin Shi... Lieutenant."

The list concluded, the atmosphere in the eting hall tightened, like a tautly drawn bow.

Three dagger squads contained the strongest forces the western front could currently mobilize.

The participants, at the very least, were at the peak of Specialized Level Fifth Rank.

They will beco the main force tearing through the labyrinth core!

"That bald guy, is he called Wang Hui?"

Qin Shi noticed, as his na was called, the bald major suddenly turned his head, swiftly locking onto him.

In the other’s eyes, there was a hint of scrutiny and latent rejection, obviously not very friendly.

But that was normal.

Considering the military rank and specialized level rank, he belonged to the "lagging" category.

Coupled with the title of first-class combat hero, it couldn’t be ignored. Resources might have to be dedicated to ensure personal safety.

"Being treated as a front-line celebrity here for the glory."

Qin Shi’s mouth twitched, keenly aware of this.

But he did not offer any explanation; words were powerless, only practical actions could change prejudice and stereotypes.

The military admires the strong, especially on the frontline!

Qin Shi believed, he’d have plenty of chances to "show" in action.

After the grouping ended, Major General Luo Zhenjiang emphasized the peril and determination of the mission once more.

The eting disbanded under heavy, oppressive tension.

The heavy alloy doors slid open, the officers filed out.

Major Wang Hui, bearing the rank of major, intentionally slowed his steps, walking alongside Qin Shi.

"Ah, Lieutenant Qin, truly ’fate’ isn’t it!"

This bald major was extrely tall and burly, like a door panel, making the upright Qin Shi appear slender.

He glanced sideways at the insignia on Qin Shi’s shoulder, seemingly friendly manner:

"You’re lucky to be with Lieutenant Colonel Gu. She always advocates fairness, if it were Colonel Shi, you’d likely be ordered to stay put, avoiding the distribution of strategic resources among the dagger team."

Qin Shi made no response, his steps steady, with no pause or quickening.

The internal situation of Iron Thorn Barrier City was rather complex, resource allocation was the root of conflict.

The team led by Shi Zhailin, along with the second team led by Yuan Jiu had already fought several tough battles and retreated unscathed.

Their force and achievents were indisputable.

Therefore, when it ca to resource acquisition, they could receive preferential treatnt.

But Lieutenant Colonel Gu Xiaong’s recent arrival lacked convincing combat performances, resulting in disadvantage in strategic resource distribution.

Now with an alleged front-line celebrity for glory, naturally, it was adding insult to injury.

Other mbers of Colonel Gu Xiaong’s dagger team heard Wang Hui’s sowhat sarcastic remarks.

Though they did not directly express anything, they did not step out to prevent it either.

"Unexpectedly, as a dignified first-class combat hero, I would encounter ’bullying’ within the military, becoming the disliked one."
