The sterile scent of antiseptic filled the air in the hospital room, an ever-present reminder of the fragile state Lucian was in. Rowan remained seated beside him, his fingers gently intertwined with Lucian's.

Lucian's eyes flickered, barely opening as he fought to regain consciousness. His mind was a ss of distorted mories and fractured tilines. So monts felt real, others twisted and bent in unnatural ways. He was caught in the space between what he rembered and what was happening now—ti, like the rift itself, was warped, fluid, and uncontrollable.

Rowan froze, his breath catching in his throat. He stared, wide-eyed, as Lucian's hand shifted, lifting slightly from the bed. The machinery's hum seed to fade into the background as Rowan's focus narrowed to that single movent. "Lucian?" he whispered, his voice raw with hope.

Lucian's eyes fluttered open, and Rowan's heart stopped. But sothing was... off. The man's gaze was hollow, unfocused, as if he were staring through Rowan rather than at him. His lips parted, but no sound ca out. Instead, his hand reached out, trembling, and grasped Rowan's wrist with a strength that belied his weakened state.

"Lucian, you're awake?" Rowan said, his voice shaking. "I'm here. You're okay."

But Lucian didn't respond. His grip tightened, pulling Rowan closer. Rowan stumbled, catching himself on the edge of the bed. Lucian's other hand rose, fingers clumsily brushing against Rowan's cheek. The touch was cold, almost alien, but there was a desperation in it that made Rowan's chest ache.

"I'm here," Rowan repeated, his voice barely audible. "I'm right here."

Lucian's lips moved again, and this ti, a sound escaped—a broken, guttural noise that sent a shiver down Rowan's spine. "Row... an," he rasped, the na slipping from his lips like a plea.

"Yes," Rowan said, his throat tight. "It's ."

Lucian's hand slid down from Rowan's cheek to the back of his neck, pulling him closer still.

Rowan's breath hitched as their foreheads touched, Lucian's ragged breathing mingling with his own. The man's eyes were still unfocused, but there was sothing in them now—a flicker, a spark that hadn't been there before.

"I need..." Lucian's voice was barely a whisper, his words disjointed. "I need... you."

Lucian's hand tightened on the back of Rowan's neck, and suddenly, his lips were on Rowan's.

The kiss was desperate, almost violent, as if Lucian were trying to consu him. Rowan gasped, his hands instinctively gripping the blanket beneath them, but he didn't pull away. He couldn't. Lucian's touch was cold, but there was a heat in it now, a hunger that Rowan had never felt before.

Lucian's tongue pushed past Rowan's lips, exploring his mouth with a fervor that left Rowan breathless.

His hands moved frantically, tugging at Rowan's shirt, pulling it up and over his head. Rowan didn't resist, his own hands trembling as they reached for Lucian, desperate to feel him, to know that he was really there.

"Lucian," Rowan gasped, his voice muffled against the man's lips.

Lucian didn't respond. His hands were everywhere, mapping Rowan's body with a feverish urgency.

He pulled Rowan onto the bed, flipping his body, placing himself atop Rowan, his weight pressing down on him, his breath hot against Rowan's skin. "Guide ," Lucian murmured, his voice ragged. "I need... I need you."

Rowan's heart clenched. He'd never seen Lucian like this before—so raw, so needy. It was as if the man were drowning, and Rowan was the only thing keeping him afloat. "I'm here," Rowan whispered, his hands sliding down Lucian's back. "I'm here."

Lucian's lips found Rowan's neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin as his hands fumbled with the button on Rowan's pants.

Rowan's breath hitched as Lucian's fingers dipped inside, brushing against his length. He gasped, his hips arching involuntarily.

"Please," Lucian murmured, his voice urgent. "I need... I need more."

Rowan's hands trembled as they reached for Lucian's waistband, helping him shimmy out of his hospital gown.

The man's body was pale and his muscles trembling with the effort of staying upright. Rowan's heart ached at the sight, but there was no ti for gentleness, not with the way Lucian was moving, his hands frantic, his breath ragged.

"I've got you," Rowan whispered, his fingers trembling as they wrapped around Lucian's length.

The man gasped, his hips bucking at the touch. "I've got you."

Lucian's hands moved down, sliding between Rowan's legs, spreading them apart. Rowan's breath caught as Lucian's fingers brushed against his entrance, the touch light but electric.

"Lucian," he gasped, his voice trembling. "Are you sure—?"

But Lucian didn't respond. His fingers pressed inside, and Rowan gasped, his back arching off the bed. The stretch was sharp, but there was a pleasure in it too, a deep, aching need that mirrored the desperation in Lucian's movents.

"Rowan," Lucian murmured, his voice hoarse. "I need..."

"I'm here," Rowan whispered, his hands gripping Lucian's shoulders. "I'm here."

Lucian's fingers withdrew, and Rowan felt a montary emptiness before Lucian's length pressed against him.

The man's breath was hot against his neck, his grip tight on Rowan's hips. "Guide ," he murmured, his voice desperate.

Rowan's hands moved to Lucian's hips. The pressure was intense, the stretch almost too much, but then Lucian was inside him, and the world seed to shatter.

Rowan gasped, his nails digging into Lucian's hips as the man began to move, his thrusts frantic, almost incoherent.

"Rowan," Lucian murmured, his voice breaking. "I'm... I'm..."

Lucian's grip tightened, his movents becoming more erratic as he whispered, "Guide ." His voice was low, almost broken, a plea that tore through Rowan like a storm. Before Rowan could respond, Lucian pulled out, his hands gripping Rowan's hips with a desperate strength.

He flipped Rowan over onto his stomach, the sheets tangled beneath them, the air thick with the scent of sweat and need.

Rowan's breath hitched as he felt Lucian's weight press down on him, his body flush against Rowan's back.

The cold hospital room seed to fade away, replaced by the heat of Lucian's skin, the urgency of his touch.

Lucian's hands slid down Rowan's sides, possessive and needy, before settling on his hips again. Lucian murmured, his voice trembling. "Tell ... this is real."

"I'm here," Rowan gasped, his voice muffled by the pillow. "It's real. It's really ."

Lucian didn't wait.

With a low groan, he thrust back in, his body slamming against Rowan's with a force that made Rowan's vision blur.

The sound of flesh eting flesh echoed through the room, loud and raw, a rhythm that was both punishing and intoxicating.

Rowan's fingers clawed at the sheets, his back arching as Lucian's length filled him completely, every thrust driving him deeper into the haze of pleasure and pain.

"Rowan," Lucian moaned, his voice breaking. His hands tightened on Rowan's hips, pulling him back with every thrust, as if he could sohow rge them together.

His movents were wild, almost desperate, his need so palpable it was like a live wire between them. "I can't—I can't lose you again."

Rowan's heart ached at the raw vulnerability in Lucian's voice. He reached back, his fingers tangling in Lucian's hair, pulling him closer. "You won't," Rowan whispered, his voice trembling. "I'm not going anywhere."

Lucian's breath hitched, and for a mont, he stilled, his forehead pressed against Rowan's shoulder.

Then, with a grunt, he began moving again, his thrusts harder, faster, as if he were trying to bury himself in Rowan, to claim him in a way that would leave no doubt.

Rowan's moans were swallowed by the pillow, his body trembling with the force of Lucian's need, the intensity of his own pleasure building with every stroke.

"I need you," Lucian gasped, his voice raw. "I need you so much it's—it's like I'm drowning."

Rowan's eyes fluttered shut, his body responding to Lucian's words, to the ache in his voice. "I'm here," he murmured, his voice barely audible. "I'm guiding you. I've got you."

Lucian's breath was hot against Rowan's neck, his hips rolling in a rhythm that was both relentless and tender.

His hands moved from Rowan's hips, sliding up his sides, tracing the curve of his spine, fingers digging into Rowan's skin as if he were trying to morize every inch of him

Rowan turned his head, his lips brushing against Lucian's arm. "Feel ," he whispered.

Lucian's thrusts beca aggressive, his body trembling with the effort to hold back, to keep control.

His hands gripped Rowan's shoulders, pulling him up, until Rowan was on his knees, Lucian's chest pressed against his back.

Rowan could feel Lucian's heartbeat, fast and frantic, against his skin, the rhythm matching his own.

"I'm close," Lucian gasped, his voice strained. His hands slid down Rowan's chest, his fingers finding Rowan's length, stroking him in ti with his thrusts.

Rowan's breath caught in his throat, his body tightening as Lucian's touch pushed him closer to the edge.

He could feel Lucian's need, his desperation, in every thrust, every stroke, every ragged breath. "Lucian," he moaned, his voice breaking.

Rowan's body shuddered as he ca, his release spilling over Lucian's fingers, his vision going white as pleasure washed over him in waves.

Lucian's thrusts beca harder, more frantic, his breath hot against Rowan's neck as he followed him over the edge. His body stiffened, his grip tightening on Rowan as he moaned, a sound that was both broken and full of relief.

For a mont, they stayed like that, Lucian's chest pressed against Rowan's back, their breaths mingling as they ca down from the high.

Then, slowly, Lucian's grip loosened, his hands sliding down Rowan's sides as he pulled out, his body collapsing onto the bed beside him.

Rowan turned, his fingers brushing against Lucian's cheek. "Are you okay?" he whispered, his voice soft.

Rowan's fingers lingered on Lucian's cheek, tracing the line of his jaw, as though trying to morize the feel of his skin under his fingertips.

Lucian's eyes were closed, his breathing uneven. The warmth of their connection still lingered in the air, but Rowan could feel the subtle tension in Lucian's body—the way his muscles twitched, the way his breath hitched, as if sothing was still pulling at him, trying to unravel him.

"I'm here," Lucian murmured again, his voice a soft rasp, but it was clear the words ant sothing more. He was still lost sowhere inside his mind, teetering on the edge between reality and the fractured remnants of his shattered consciousness.

Rowan's heart clenched at the vulnerability in Lucian's voice.

His gaze drifted down to the man beside him, his once confident, powerful form now fragile and disoriented. He gently cupped Lucian's cheek, his thumb brushing against the warmth of his skin. "You don't have to fight alone," Rowan whispered, though a knot of uncertainty tightened in his chest.

Lucian's eyes fluttered open, but they were clouded with confusion.

His pupils were dilated, his focus wavering as if the rift's corruption still had a hold on him. "It's... too much," Lucian muttered, the words barely audible.

His voice was thick with strain. "I can't... can't... rember."

Rowan's heart ached. He could see it—the internal battle raging inside Lucian's mind, the way he was struggling to stay tethered to the present.

Every ti Lucian tried to reach for clarity, the corruption seed to pull him further away, dragging him deeper into the labyrinth of his broken mories.

Just then, a sudden, sharp beep from the nearby dical monitor broke the fragile silence.

Rowan's eyes snapped to the display, his stomach tightening. The lines representing Lucian's vitals were fluctuating again—erratic, unstable.

Lucian's body twitched, his hand clenching around Rowan's, fingers digging into his skin as his breathing beca shallow. Rowan's heart raced as he looked at the monitor—Lucian's heart rate was spiking, his vitals fluctuating in an almost unnatural rhythm.

"Lucian?" Rowan's voice was tight with panic. He leaned forward, placing his hand on Lucian's chest, pouring out guidance, trying to steady him. "Stay with ."

But Lucian wasn't responding.

His eyes were wide now, the confusion deepening, his breath coming in sharp gasps. The corruption bloom was reawakening, triggering another ntal fracture, pushing him further into a state of instability.

As if on cue, the system notification blared, its cold, clinical tone filling the room:

[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: Corruption Bloom detected. Stabilization required. Initiating process.]

The words flashed across the screen, too clinical, too cold, in stark contrast to the raw chaos Lucian was experiencing.

Rowan's grip on Lucian's hand tightened, his heart racing as he tried to make sense of the situation.

The system was trying to intervene, but its thods were impersonal.

Lucian's mind was too fragile for the system to control; it was slipping through its fingers, much like Lucian was slipping from his.

Rowan could feel it—the subtle, but undeniable pull of the corruption bloom inside Lucian, spreading through his thoughts like a virus, slowly consuming him from the inside out.

Lucian's mind was caught between the rift's influence and his own mories, unable to reconcile the two.

"Lucian, focus," Rowan pleaded, his voice more urgent now.

He leaned in closer, brushing his lips over Lucian's forehead.

Rowan's guiding presence was the only thing that could stabilize him now. But the strain of maintaining that tether was taking a toll on him as well. His heart ached with every tremble of Lucian's body, every flicker of confusion in his eyes.

Rowan kissed him softly on the forehead, trying to anchor him.

He wasn't sure if Lucian could even feel the touch, but it was the only thing he could do.

Lucian's body shuddered against him, the energy from the rift lashing through his mind like a storm.

The corruption bloom continued to surge, becoming more aggressive.

Lucian's body jerked, his fingers twitching as if trying to break free of sothing invisible.

His breath ca faster, harsher.

Rowan's own heartbeat was syncing with Lucian's, their resonance tied together in a fragile web of mutual dependence.

His hand moved to Lucian's chest again, feeling the erratic beats, trying to calm him.

And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the world around them seed to still.

Lucian's vitals stabilized, the erratic fluctuations slowing down, but still far from normal. His breathing beca slower, more even, though his eyes were still glazed over.

Rowan's presence had managed to calm the storm, but Lucian wasn't fully out of the woods yet.

The room was still, save for the faint beeping of the heart monitor.

Rowan stayed close, his hand on Lucian's chest, his heart still pounding in his chest.

He took a deep breath, his own emotions threatening to overwhelm him.

Lucian's lips parted slightly, and he let out a soft breath. "Rowan," he whispered, his voice hoarse.

His gaze flickered, like he was seeing sothing—or soone—far away. The connection between them was still fragile, but Rowan could feel the faint pulse of sothing more.

"I'm right here," Rowan said softly, his voice filled with emotion. He reached for Lucian's hand again, threading their fingers together. "I'm not leaving you."

Lucian's eyes flickered briefly, and then he whispered, "I... I can't let go."

Rowan's breath caught in his throat. He leaned down, kissing Lucian's forehead once again. "You don't have to," he murmured. "I've got you."
