Chapter 23: Even Her Brother Is a CP Fan
"Too short."
"Looks ugly."
"Cheap."
She ca up with all sorts of things to say about every person. Qing Yuan deflated. "No more," she protested when he tried to show him sothing else.
"Last one!" he begged. He did so long enough to wear her out. Qian ng looked down reluctantly and raised a brow. "What do you think of this one?" Qing Yuan asked when she didn't reply.
She remained silent. Why did it have to be Mo Qingchen, her mortal enemy?
"Look, it will look good on your hand, isn't short, has excellent pedigree, is expensive and there is nothing like this product on the planet." His eyes looked so hopeful that she hated to dash his dreams.
"This product might be the only one in the world but I can sense its negativity from far away." She glared at the picture before looking away.
"Everyone says it would look good on you," Qing Yuan insisted. He snuggled closer, leaning into her with expectant eyes.
"Don't believe what everyone says. Have your own opinion," she said calmly in reply.
"It is my own opinion," Qing Yuan said lightly. "Should I get this for you?" he asked with a charming smile.
"Can you afford it?" she asked curiously. Her brother seed adamant on getting her together with soone.
Qing Yuan shook his head. "I might not be able to, but you do." With that he sent sothing to her phone. "I compiled so things for you. Go over them in your free ti." He smiled at her coyly.
She opened his ssages quickly and frowned. Was this what people called a CP fan? She looked through the contents and knew there were videos and such. "Are you trying to persuade to get this?" she pointed at the picture of Mo Qingchen.
"Is it working?" he asked hopefully. He blinked, acting innocent. Qian ng burst into a chortle as she shook her head.
"Have you considered that the person in charge won't give it to ?" Not that she wanted it.
"I highly doubt they would say no. Give it a go." He slid away with that, leaving Qian ng short on words. She gulped as she locked her phone and turned the screen downwards. From her side, her father looked up at her. Finally, he said a few words.
"The Bai family will be coming over shortly. Don't make any excuses to leave," Yun Sui Bo said shortly. Qian ng remained calm as she watched him.
He had waited until the last minute to inform her that guests would join. Yun Sui Bo knew that no matter what, Qian ng would remove herself from the scene. He was right.
"I've made it clear that I have an appointnt a little later. I ca by because you asked ," she said firmly.
"I don't care about your appointnt. They're coming to et you for the first ti. You are not leaving."
"You and your controlling tendencies. You've added deception to it, as well," she griped. She stood up imdiately. "I'll et them on another day."
Li Jun had inford her that the files on Bai Ye Qing would be sent over the next day, so she could talk her way out of the marriage then.
"Do you think you are the president of the country to needs an appointnt to et? Sit down," Yun Sui Bo barked. Qian ng scoffed.
"I'm the founder and CEO of my company. People do need to make an appointnt to et . I didn't know your ti was so easy to have, father," she retorted. "You've already decided on our marriage, why do I need to et the family? Just tie up and throw into the water." She shrugged.
"I still have a little respect for you left. If you keep disobeying , I'll really tie you up," he warned.
"Don't say that!" Jing Xin said from the far end of the room. "Qian ng is just hesitant about marriage. She'll co around soon enough. You know how kids are these days. They thing they can live alone. Once they grow older, they'll understand how lonely the world is." She sighed, shaking her head as if she had felt such a thing every day.
"I hear married people feel lonely all the ti. Why do I need to toss my ti away if I am going to feel like shit, anyways." She flipped her hair over her shoulder as she looked at Qing Yuan. He was looking anywhere but at the others, not wanting to take part in the conversation.
It seed that the little brother of hers really lacked courage. As expected.
"Language," her father scolded coldly. "He graduated from Yale. He is good looking and highly educated. He is heading his own company and flourishing. Where did you study? I'm embarrassed to tell people." Yun Sui Bo turned away.
"Let's be honest, you'd be ashad even if I was a scientist at NASA. I have my own company and make billions of dollars a year. He works in his father's company as a manager. He will only take over when his father retires. I think he is the one who should be ashad, father." She bit out the last word.
"Am I your biological father?" he scread. "You live to tornt ."
"I wonder the sa, sotis. I wish I could pledge to such a life goal. I have better things to do." She moved forward, shrugging away everyone's calls and walked out of the house. She heaved a sigh of relief as she waited for the butler to return with her car. As she waited a shiny car parked in front of her. A lady in her late fifties got down from the car, accompanied by the driver.
She looked at the custom-made car and felt a sarcastic smile co upon her lips. The car costed a lot, that was for sure, but from the looks of the owners, it was bought solely to show off their increased status in society. New money, it scread.
