The fluffy and soft osmanthus cake bounced gently against the teeth as it entered the mouth.
The eyes of the girls who tasted the osmanthus cake shone brightly.
It was a sweet sensation! The taste was really good!
Neither of them expected such a small piece of osmanthus cake to taste so good. This sweetness wasn’t overpowering, but it lingered on the palate.
Who would have thought that osmanthus cake sold by these two NPCs would be so delicious?
Boss Jiang’s food truck was right beside the Paramount, not at all out of place on the antiqued street but seemingly blending in as one. Both Jiang Feng and Sun Zhuangfei were dressed in long robes, in Republic of China fashion, which matched the scenery perfectly.
"Boss, give us two more osmanthus cakes," said the girls after they finished their cakes.
"Sure," replied Jiang Feng. He picked out two osmanthus cakes according to their preferred flavors, handing them over.
Seeing their look of admiration, Jiang Feng found it quite amusing.
Soon, more groups of tourists ca wandering by. The aroma of the osmanthus cakes was fragrant and wafting. Passersby were attracted by the scent when they passed by.
Several more girls approached, and one of them suddenly exclaid, "There’s a fragrance in the air, like flowers. Do you sll it?"
"There is a pleasant scent!"
"It slls really nice!"
"It’s from that food truck over there."
"Ah, so they were selling osmanthus cakes."
"Let’s go buy so."
A few people gathered around the food truck and bought several pieces of osmanthus cake. They found the two n in long robes on the food truck quite interesting. Especially Jiang Feng, who, despite wearing sunglasses, had a remarkable aura. He had the bearing of a handso young man from the era of the Republic of China.
"Boss, can we take a photo with you?"
"Your outfit really matches the backdrop," a girl mustered the courage to ask.
"No problem," Jiang Feng answered. Always generous, he didn’t mind such requests and stepped down from the food truck. After all, being part of the scenery wasn’t a novel experience for him.
Sun Zhuangfei watched silently from the side. He wondered why no one asked him for a photo even though he was also wearing a long robe. Who could he even complain to about this?
Jiang Feng stood at the entrance of the Paramount. The girls thought he had a great presence and took turns taking individual photos with him. Everyone was delighted.
After the photo session, they bought so more osmanthus cakes. The taste of the osmanthus cakes was surprisingly aromatic, leaving a refreshing feeling after eating. Only then did they happily depart.
"The osmanthus cake is so good, is it a specialty here?"
"It’s very refreshing and sweet."
"I love the vanilla flavored one; it’s really well made."
"I want to buy so more."
The girls chatted as they walked.
"That boss just now was so handso, and he had a familiar vibe, like a celebrity."
"I also felt he looked like so star, but I can’t rember who right now!"
"With those sunglasses on, it’s hard to see what he really looks like."
"But he does have a nice aura about him."
They continued their journey to other districts, taking photos and checking in.
By noon, when they found a place to rest, they began to busy themselves with editing photos on their phones and then posted a series of pictures on their social dia. Almost all of them posted their photos with Jiang Feng.
Soon, their friends were all liking the photos.
At that mont, one comnt caught a girl’s attention.
"That looks like Boss Jiang."
After seeing the comnt, the girl suddenly realized. "That boss selling the osmanthus cake, it’s Jiang Feng!" she exclaid excitedly to the others.
"Jiang Feng? Boss Jiang?"
"It’s him!"
"It really does look like him!"
"I knew he looked familiar!"
"Let’s go back and have another look!"
Only then did the group co to their senses and realize that the man they had taken photos with was Jiang Feng. With that realization, they agreed to head back towards the food truck.
At this point, Jiang Feng had nothing to do. Selling osmanthus cakes didn’t require on-the-spot cooking; they were all pre-made. Once sold out, the day’s work was done. This process only needed one person to handle it.
"I’m going to take a walk; I’ll be back in a bit," Jiang Feng told Sun Zhuangfei.
"Okay, boss," Sun Zhuangfei quickly agreed.
After speaking, Jiang Feng left the food truck and went to explore the scenic streets of the film city. Dressed in an understated long robe and wearing sunglasses, he looked like a well-off loafer from the Republic of China era. He walked along the Shanghai-style streets of the Republic of China, moving forward. At this mont, he indeed resembled an NPC, perfectly blending in with the surroundings.
But walking past this street and a little further on, the scenery changed to a palace complex styled in ancient imperial architecture. The palace here exuded the aura of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The palace was not large, but it had a main hall and several smaller ones.
Jiang Feng entered with the intention of simply enjoying the scenery. At this mont, he noticed a group of about a dozen people engrossed in watching sothing, and his curiosity led him to take a look as well.
It turned out to be a crew shooting a short drama on location. Interested, he walked over and found a spot to observe the filming process. It had to be said, seeing a man from the Republican era within the palace grounds was quite an unusual sight.
Jiang Feng saw the short drama featured three actors: an emperor in golden robes, a clean and neat little eunuch, and a woman dressed as a consort.
Jiang Feng was curious about what they were filming when he heard the consort, with a mix of sadness and anger, pointing at the little eunuch and accusing, "Your Majesty, what kind of enchanting drug has this little eunuch given you that you are so bewitched by him? Before he entered the palace, he had a childhood sweetheart, and now they are still secretly continuing their affair—unbeknownst to you!"
Hearing this, the emperor’s face changed, and he burst into fury, "Silence! I won’t allow you to slander him like that. I know in my heart what kind of person Xiao Yunzi is!"
Witnessing this scene, Jiang Feng’s face was a palpable question mark, his brain montarily short-circuited. What, are short dramas all this wild nowadays? Watching the scene, it seed like the consort was jealous of a eunuch? Good heavens, what kind of risqué plot was this? Still, he had to admit, he was quite tempted to continue watching.
Jiang Feng stood by, unable to resist watching for a while. The little eunuch’s acting was rather good, managing to be pitiable yet sly. After the emperor left, there was a scene between the eunuch and consort that seed almost flirtatious.
Jiang Feng was even more baffled. This plot was cringeworthy.
At that ti, he overheard so people talking and learned that the short drama was about a protagonist who ti-traveled into the body of a eunuch but hadn’t been castrated, and then beca a dominant figure in the harem.
After watching for a bit, Jiang Feng left straight away.
There was also an old-style Hong Kong street nearby, where so Hong Kong movies were fild. Seeing the signs on the street, Jiang Feng was quite interested in the food culture of Hong Kong. The food culture there was similar to Guangdong’s but had significant differences. He would check it out when the ti ca.
As Jiang Feng strolled around, several girls had already arrived at the food truck.
"Where’s Boss Jiang?"
"Where is he?"
The girls asked Sun Zhuangfei.
"The boss left, and I don’t know where he went," Sun Zhuangfei responded truthfully, without disclosing Jiang Feng’s exact location.
"He really is Boss Jiang! I can’t believe we actually t him!" one girl was visibly excited.
"Let’s wait for a bit."
"I want to take a photo with him without his sunglasses!"
"We can check in at his food truck!"
The few chatted idly.
At that ti, three more girls arrived; they had initially co to buy osmanthus cakes. But girls are naturally gossipy. Hearing the other girls chat about the food truck being Jiang Feng’s, their interest was piqued. They ca to this place mainly to check in and take photos. But taking more photos of the streets or thed pictures was nothing compared to a series of photos with Jiang Feng. Moreover, it would be particularly morable.
Jiang Feng was currently the hottest street vendor, with a massive following.
As a result, more and more people started to arrive. Through word of mouth, many learned about Jiang Feng’s food truck and were waiting for him.
Seeing the situation, Sun Zhuangfei quietly sent Jiang Feng a ssage on his phone: "Boss, there’s a crowd here waiting for you, better not co back."
However, his ssage was too late.
After making his rounds, Jiang Feng, finding nothing else to do, leisurely walked back. Upon his return, he saw a large crowd gathered around the food truck.
Jiang Feng thought to himself. Business seems pretty good. This is great; I can knock off early!
"Boss Jiang is here!"
"He’s back, it really is him!"
At that mont, soone spotted him and imdiately approached him.
"Hello there," Jiang Feng greeted everyone amiably.
As he walked forward, several people followed along beside him. Two girls even took each arm, but Jiang Feng gently extricated himself. It wasn’t that serious.
Many were clamoring for a photo together.
Jiang Feng replied, "Sure, no problem, line up and we’ll take turns." After all, there weren’t that many people, and taking photos was no big deal. His experience in the film city was turning out to be quite interesting.
Next, he virtually beca Paramount’s attraction, standing at the entrance, posing with tourists for photos. If each photo were charged at five yuan, he could easily make two or three hundred.
The scene was quite relaxed.
Sun Zhuangfei was busy selling osmanthus cakes from the food truck. The cakes were selling well. Their quantity visibly dwindled. So people were buying ten pieces at a ti. At this rate, they would be able to close up shop early today.
