Alice sat nervously in her office as she continuously checked the ti.

It’s been almost six weeks since she last saw Briar and she didn’t know how to face the other. However, just because she didn’t know how to face the other didn’t an that she needed to stay away.

If she didn’t reconcile with Briar, her brother would have her head. They had dragged this matter for a long ti.

Knowing Briar, even with her mories intact, there was no way that she would be willing to et with her. They have been at odds for years, so it would be strange. So, she could only bow down and hope that Briar would give her face.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Thankfully, she didn’t need to wait for a very long ti, as soone started knocking on her door.

Alice cald herself done, assuming that it was her sister-in-law who had arrived. She didn’t dare let Briar, that scheming snake, find her in such a situation.

"Enter!" she calmly called out once she felt that she was ready.

Monts later, the door opened, and a familiar face appeared.

Her assistant walked into the office followed by a face she had been longing to see for a very long ti, and she stood on her feet, a smile plastered on her face.

"President, I have brought her here!" the assistant faithfully reported.

Alice smiled at her capable assistant and waved her hands. "Thank you for the trouble. Can you bring us so snacks and beverages? Make it light," and instructed the other as she walked away from the desk.

The assistant acknowledges the order and makes herself scarce, leaving the two people who caused a bloody scene the last ti that they t.

Briar looked at Alice calmly, her defense walls high, ready to battle it out if she tried anything funny.

"Sister-in-law, please be seated!" however, Alice’s enthusiasm broke down the walls she erected, making her a bit more anticipatory.

Briar nodded in acknowledgent and made way to one of the several chairs to sit.

Alice joined her and sat across from her, forcing the two to look at each other.

Briar didn’t say a single word but simply looked at Alice without backing down.

Just because she frad the other a few tis in one day, that won’t an that she would look apologetic towards the other.

They both repaid their debts in different ways. So why suffer?

The assistant returned with the snacks and beverages. She placed them on the table before leaving once more.

With food on the table, Briar, who didn’t know what to say, reached out for the juice and poured a bit for herself before she gulped it down to quench her thirst.

Once that was done, she felt much more relaxed. She looked at Alice and asked, "Am I here so that you will look at like this?" no longer hiding herself.

When facing soone like Alice, it was pointless to act like so holy saint.

Alice bead when she saw the persona that she was used to. She felt warmhearted, to be honest.

’Briar really sees differently!’ she concluded.

For a snake, like Briar, she was soone who hid her true colors from everyone. For her to show her true colors, didn’t that an that she was special?

Although her sister-in-law’s crazy thods were out of this world, Alice felt fondness towards the other.

"I was just curious if you will have an episode if I look at you more," Alice answered with a shrug, rembering how the other ti when Briar was in the hospital had an episode.

The doctor’s words were still fresh in her mind. Briar should avoid much agitation or excitent. Anything might happen.

When Briar heard that, she rolled her eyes at Alice, wondering if the other was an idiot. Of course, she knew what the doctor said back then. To think that Alice would try to check that, she found the other too stupid.

Wasn’t she afraid of triggering her into an episode and eating a loss?

Didn’t she learn from the last encounter?

Alice, however, bead as she saw the other’s reaction. It was good that she was calm and collected. That ant that she could now see Briar as much as she wanted. She won’t be causing any harm in the future.

"I am not from the zoo. If you have sothing to say, then say it. I still need to go ho and take my dicine," Briar coldly said as she glared at the other.

Alice’s lips curled upwards as she responded, "Sorry about that. I just couldn’t help myself."

Briar let out a hmph before humming in agreent, giving Alice a chance to say more.

"I know that we haven’t been the best of friends since we t and that has caused a lot of distance and misunderstandings between us."

Briar acknowledged this fact. The two of them barely got along from the beginning. It was as if they were born enemies and thanks to that, they both misunderstood each other big ti until they reached the crazy stage.

"Because of my misconception about your background, I automatically found you unpleasant, which was very wrong of . I shouldn’t have judged you like that. If I hadn’t, then maybe we could be friends right now. I let my emotions take over and hated you for no reason when all you ever wanted to do was just work hard."

Briar didn’t know what to think actually as she listened to Alice talking. It was very rare to see this strong-headed missy admitting her faults.

Her ego was so inflated that she always acted as if the world revolved around her and everyone else was ants.

To think that there would be a day she would hear this, her guilt towards the framing started dissipating.

Without doing so, could Alice even act like this today?

So things were ant to be.

That was fate.
