’It’s good to be back!’ Briar closed her eyes with satisfaction as she looked at the familiar mansion she had missed greatly.

Although her return wasn’t exactly what she thought of when she left over a week ago. It was nonetheless still good to be back.

"Welco back, madam!"

"We are glad to see that you are well!"

Especially when hearing that title, madam, without the word second anywhere near it.

She still rembered how she was called the second madam. Living in the shadows of Selena even after getting the man she had loved for years.

And yet in just a week, everything had changed. Did that an that from now on she won’t have to live in anyone’s shadows?

If that was the case, what exactly did her husband find out when she was unconscious?

Just what exactly did he want her to forget that he was willing to have that shock therapy procedure on her?

She couldn’t help but be curious.

Briar bead at Uncle Marcus as well as the staff and responded, "Thank you, everyone. I am feeling better than before," her tone a bit weaker than how they used to know her.

Seeing her like that, pity and sympathy were unintentionally evoked from the staff mbers.

"It’s good that you are feeling better. For now, just make sure to recuperate well and rest as much as possible," Uncle Marcus relievedly said before adding a few more words of concern.

Briar gratefully looked at the man who had been managing the household for as long as she could rember and smiled at him.

Having the support of the butler was a good thing for her. Although this man was just another staff of the household, she knew that it wasn’t the case.

Uncle Marcus was more than what he seed to portray. It would be in her favor in the future to have him by her side.

With the staff’s blessings, Briar was brought into the mansion. Thankfully, there was an elevator in the mansion, so she just got wheeled towards it.

Honestly, she wanted to stand and walk on her own, but Logan was against that idea. So, she could only be obedient and sit down there.

There was no loss in getting spoiled for a while. She had worked too hard for more than a decade. She would consider this her vacation.

"Logan!" she called out to him as they entered the master bedroom.

"Um. Do you want anything?" in a gentle voice he asked her.

A smile blossod on her face as that gentleness touched her places and answered, "This.... Um, I am not causing any trouble for you, right?" she asked, a bit worried about the current situation.

The wheelchair ca to a stop, and Logan turned the wheelchair so that she was facing him.

Logan crouched down so that they were looking at each other on the sa level, a smile on his face, making Briar feel that it wasn’t as bad as she imagined it to be.

Logan raised his hand and stretched it towards her. She didn’t evade but looked forward to that hand touching her. Her heart was racing wildly in anticipation.

Logan’s finger tapped lightly on her nose before flicking her forehead playfully as he said, "You are my wife and as my wife, how can you make trouble for ?" his tone was very gentle, it made Briar think that she was just overthinking and wanting so drama.

A smile broke out on her face as she let out a relieved sigh and said, "That’s good, then. I would regret it if I caused any harm," her tone tinged with worry.

Logan understood what she was thinking without her saying much. He didn’t want her to continue worrying over the sa matter repeatedly. He hoped that from now on she would live her life happily and not be stressed too much.

"Briar, I will not talk about this ever again. So, I will say this once and I hope that you listen to carefully. Can you do that for ?" suddenly he turned serious as he talked to her.

Badum. Badum. Badum.

Her heart started beating loudly, taken by surprise by the sudden declaration from Logan. What did he want to talk about?

Curious and nervous about the topic, she involuntarily nodded, accenting whatever he wanted to say.

He was the husband, and she was the wife. If she didn’t listen to him on the surface, then who else would she listen to?

Seeing her being agreeable, Logan continued with what he wanted to say.

"Briar, you are my wife. The woman I picked among all the many won out there. In my eyes and heart, you are important and suitable. No matter what other people say out there, just rember that they don’t represent my thoughts.

, my family and the kids, we all care for you and love you. Don’t let anyone or anything make you feel like you don’t deserve this title. You are the perfect holder of such a title. So, move with your head held. It doesn’t matter what education level you reached or what your background is.

I know why I picked you and I know best who is good for and for my family. So, if there is ever anything that stresses you and makes you feel pressured or worried, then talk to . If you can’t do that, my mother is there and so are my sisters.

Talk to them about it and we will solve it together. Don’t keep everything bottled inside of you. Things might have worked out like that before, but you are no longer a nanny, Briar, but my wife.

Do you understand what your husband is saying?" his voice was very soft, without any overbearingness in it and it made her lt as his gaze was cast upon her.

Whatever he was saying, all sounded pretty good, and she loved it so much.

So how could she not understand it?

At this mont, all she knew was that he looked so handso and when looking at those lips she had been dreaming of having a taste of for years, she just wanted to kiss him.

"I want to kiss him!" that’s all she could think about, but when she saw the smile on his face as he looked at her, especially her lips, she froze.

’Did I just think out loud?’
