"Good morning, second mother!" *3

Briar bead at the three and returned the greetings cheerfully.

"How was your night?"

"It was great!"

"We slept very well!"

"That’s good. Let it be like that always in the future. Did you eat breakfast, already?" Briar asked as she made her way to the dining room.

"Yep. We ate a while ago but Dad didn’t. He just left hurriedly," Lyra answered her gaze on the tablet in hand.

Briar nodded, and said, "Okay. Let eat mine then. I will be leaving at any ti from now on!"

"Can we go with you?" suddenly Tiana asked pleadingly, blinking her big eyes at Briar.

Upon hearing that, both Lyra and Cade looked at Briar with sparkling eyes.

Briar felt tempted seeing those three pairs of eyes looking at her like that, but when she thought of the impending danger, she might face later if things really worked out the way it was, she gritted her teeth and resolutely rejected, "No! We will go together another ti. Besides, today I won’t be doing any fittings. Just having asurents taken and the like," and elaborated on what she would be doing.

When the three heard that, their expressions dulled, and Briar sighed with relief. Indeed, nothing was interesting about what she was going to do. If she was going to fit on dresses, then perhaps the kids would have sothing interesting to see. But that wasn’t the case.

"I guess we will join you when you go and fit then!" Tiana gave up after learning what her second mother would be doing.

And the thought of going through that alongside, grandma, Tiana would rather watch cartoons at ho than torture herself.

What she was thinking was exactly what the other two were thinking.

Seeing them quitting in ti, Briar smiled at them and comforted them. "Don’t worry, kids. Next weekend, I won’t be going anywhere. We can go out and have fun. Besides, the holiday is upon us. We will have a lot of fun when the ti cos. Don’t you think so?"

When they heard that, their eyes lit up, getting rejuvenated once again. "Um, there is a lot of ti."

"You promised! Don’t go back on your words!"

Briar chuckled guiltily when she heard that, but still answered shalessly, "I won’t go back on my words. Have you ever seen doing so unless there is an unavoidable situation?"

Through small bantering, Briar had a great ti that morning as she ate her breakfast. As soon as she was done, the butler ca to inform her that the car had arrived.

Briar acknowledged the butler before rushing upstairs to freshen a bit since she had just eaten. Once she was done, she returned downstairs, where the kids hung on her like koalas and Briar just let them be.

They sent her to the awaiting car where the door was opened by the driver who ca. Before Briar entered the car, she looked at the children who were expecting her to return ho safe to her. A glint of guilt flickered in her eyes as she thought of what she received from Irene earlier.

She took a deep breath and forced a smile on her face, thinking to herself, ’I will never hurt them again after this!’ before opening her arms.

Without saying a word, Tiana rushed into her arms first and Briar hugged the little girl and kissed the top of her head, making Tiana giggle.

After hugging Tiana, Briar hugged Cade, who was too shy to hug others but still loved it. Lastly, she hugged Lyra and rubbed the other’s head for a while, earning a dissatisfied grin from her.

With the three children hugged, Briar brought all three of them into her embrace one last ti and said in a soft tone which sounded a bit too emotional to the kids, "You know that I love you, right?"

This sudden confession dumbfounded the kids, but nonetheless still responded, "Um and we love you as well!"

"I know, and I am eternally grateful! I just wanted you to know that I love you. You might not be my real kids, but from the day you were handed to , I saw you as my children.

I love you and will always love you. No matter what happens in the future, no matter what other people say, just rember that" Briar choked as she poured her heart into the children.

It’s been ages since she said that to them and on such a day, she wanted them to know her heart. She knew that she was a ruthless person and wouldn’t change that quickly, but her love was not a joke.

She wanted them to know about it lest she end up in a bad situation before the day ended. If the day passes safely, then consider it as her just reminding them of her love for them.

The kids were touched by their stepmother’s words, they repeatedly told her about how much they loved her, which in return made Briar’s mood to be uplifted.

Once she was smiling, Briar reluctantly bade the kids farewell before getting in the car.

The three children watched the car driving away and waved excitedly at the car. Once it could no longer be seen, the three children returned to the house.

Once they were back in their seats, Cade looked at his sister and said, "Sis, do you think that soone is whispering nonsense in second mother’s ears again?"

Lyra looked at her brother and frowned, recalling what their second mother had said earlier. She connected the pieces and once she connected that with what Cade had said, her frown deepened and responded, "We know her the best. We just need to continue to make her feel that she is loved, no matter what!"

Cade nodded his head when he heard that and added, "Even if she has children, they will still be our siblings. It’s not like she is an evil stepmother and would mistreat us just because of that!"

Lyra smiled at the thought of having more siblings. Others might worry about that, but who were they?

She couldn’t help but look at Cade and nodded her head at him. Cade smiled at his sister, before picking up his tablet, and if Briar was here, she would be so shocked if she saw the graphs on the screen.

Cade was a financial genius. Why should he fear other children when he could start his own empire at a young age?

Besides, if he could still accept Tiana after learning the truth about her, which unfortunately, Tiana still didn’t know, how could he be repulsed by the second mother’s children?
