anwhile, upstairs, Briar didn’t take any pills at all. She flushed them down the toilet before taking a warm shower and nestled on the bed she loved so much.
Once she was in the blankets, she started playing with her phone and answering her friends’ ssages.
She started with other people before concentrating on the group chat with her and the other CIRCLE friends.
[X: Briar, that trick worked. Kinda used my ans to pass the information about Tiana and Raine took the bait.]
[G: I have been looking into Moses and damn, that bastard is just ... we can nail him down anyti and he can get a life.]
[BB: I don’t care if it’s life in prison. I would rather have soone like that in a psychiatric hospital and diagnosed as insane than let him be a walking ti bomb for Briar any second.]
[X: Oh, that insane thod can work as well. But it would be better if it happens after he exposes Briar. Let everyone know that his words are pure nonsense.]
[G: Let’s wait and see how it goes after they et.]
[X: That’s true. As long as Briar waves her hands, those two can go insane any second.]
[BB: Enough about Moses. What is that Raine b*** planning now, Irene?]
[X: She will make a move this weekend. Don’t worry, I will keep an eye on her.]
[B: That’s good. evening guys.] Briar joined in on the fun after reading the many ssages these three had been sending to each other before she went online.
[BB: And there she is!]
[X: Sleeping already?]
[B: Just relaxing. The kids are at ho. Don’t wanna be looked at like I am an animal in a zoo.]
[G: Hahaha, you also have a day like this?]
[B: Humph~ wait until you have a family of your own. I will see how you can continue to laugh!]
[BB: Stop tornting the young one. Anyway, darling, did you prepare? You know that tomorrow we are attending that banquet, right?]
Briar rolled her eyes when she read that.
[B: You are always reminding day and night. How can I forget?]
[BB: You better not forget. I sent you the clothes and everything. I will co and pick you up.]
Briar smiled when she read that.
[B: Are you taking as soone who would not co? Don’t co over. My hubby will drop off. If he doesn’t do this, then what purpose does he have?] she sent that feeling smug.
There was no way she was going to tell them that Logan already cleared his Saturday to accompany her.
Briar and the other three bantered and teased each other for a while before that was cut short by an incoming call from her brother.
She bade her friends goodnight and returned her brother’s call.
"Brother!" she cheerfully answered, adjusting her sitting posture.
[B, are you doing well?]
"Hehe, what can happen to , brother? And yourself? Is everything going well there?"
[Um, it is fine. I can walk now and all that.]
"That’s good to hear!" her eyes lit up as she said that.
[You are still coming over, right?]
"Yep. I will be arriving there on Tuesday. We can leave together!" she answered.
[Okay, I will be ready. We can communicate anyway.]
"Yes, let’s do that."
[Okay, that’s what I wanted to know. You can rest now.]
Briar smiled, hearing her brother’s concerned voice. If only her other three siblings were good like him. Wouldn’t it be perfect?
Unfortunately, people can’t always get everything that they wish for.
After the call ended, Briar was in a good mood. She rrily played a few gas on her phone until her eyes were heavy.
She checked the ti on the phone and saw that it was late and Logan hadn’t returned yet. She could only give up waiting for him anymore.
So, she peacefully closed her eyes and dozed off.
Thirty minutes after Briar went to sleep, the door of the bedroom was opened and a tired man walked in.
Logan didn’t make any noise upon entering. Briar wasn’t feeling well and if she awakens at such a ti, it would be bad.
While minding his steps, he went to the walk-in closet and changed his clothes.
It’s been a while since Briar helped him, but it couldn’t be helped. The pills she took at night helped with sleep, so they knocked her out very quickly.
Those pills were perfect for her as they cald her down and forced her to not overthink.
Logan’s movents were very swift and quick. In less than twenty minutes, he had taken a shower and was in his pajamas.
He went to bed and joined her without disturbing her. However, once he was in bed, Briar, being the perfect sensor she was even in sleep, moved closer to him, which made him smile, proud of how she was now relying on him and would always seek his warmth every single night.
Logan gently shifted her sleeping posture and once she was sleeping comfortably in his embrace, he sighed with relief.
Logan looked at the young wife he had never thought that one day he would be sharing the bed with.
It’s been weeks, or months, full of ups and downs. So days were funny and others were quite scary, but at the end of the day, what mattered was that she was with him.
Seeing her so sick, being unable to play with the children and failing to wait for his return, Logan felt complicated and angry at himself for not being observative enough.
If only he had guessed Raine’s intentions, he wouldn’t have taken her there, but his ignorance brought Briar harm, and now she was suffering from a second round of amnesia.
When he thought about the bout of pain, she was always suffering from now and then, a murderous glint flickered in his eyes.
It would be wise if Raine leaves the country as soon as possible. Otherwise, he might really forsake their relationship and deal with her.
Thankfully, she hadn’t done anything harmful yet or sought trouble for anyone.
Perhaps she was enlightened.
With that train of thought, he lowered his head to kiss her on the forehead.
"Goodnight, little one!" he whispered as he closed his eyes and the sleeping beauty smiled before snuggling closer to his warmth and the couple called it a night.
