Tiana, seeing that expression on her second mother’s face, didn’t bother to sit down but hurried on her two legs and held onto Briar with pitiful eyes. It made those looking at her feel like giving in.
"Second mother ... you .... You are joking, right?" Tiana’s voice trembled as she asked that. The thought of second mother leaving for a very long ti made her feel dread.
The last ti she went ho, despite being a week, it was a very long ti for her. When she was hospitalized, it felt like forever. If she leaves for ho and doesn’t return because of her, wouldn’t that be bad?
Briar looked at Tiana blankly and responded, "If I can’t even make you listen, then why bother living here?"
Tiana panicked when she heard that. She looked unblinkingly at Briar, her eyes red and tears threatening to fall any second. Briar, seeing that, smiled inwardly, finding Tiana easy to fool.
Who made her play gas with her?
Lyra, seeing Tiana about to cry, knew that she couldn’t continue to watch the drama anymore. As the biggest sister, she had to intervene.
"Tiana, dear. Say sorry to second mother and be a good girl!" she said to Tiana, her tone coaxing.
Tiana, upon hearing that, choked as she looked at Lyra and then at Cade, who was urging her to do the sa thing.
Tiana looked at Briar and said in a pitiful voice, "I am sorry, Mother. I didn’t an it. I just wanted to play," very genuine about her actions.
It wasn’t like she wanted to be difficult. The last ti she caused trouble, it didn’t end well for her. She wouldn’t dare do sothing like that again.
Briar smiled helplessly when she saw how Tiana was on the verge of crying.
She raised her hand and the girls watching held their hearts in their hands, thinking to themselves, ’Is she about to be beaten?’
However, both Lyra and Cade were at ease. Tiana didn’t even flinch or step backwards in fear but smiled shyly when she saw that puzzlingly the girls whose thoughts had strayed far.
Briar put her hand on top of the little girl’s head and ruffled her hair playfully, saying, "That’s my good girl. I know that you want to play, but let’s wait until I am recovered. I will play with you until you are fed up. Is that okay?"
Tiana’s eyes bead when she heard that. She nodded her head like a chicken pecking on rice, dumbfounding the girls, who weren’t expecting it to end that way.
Lyra, seeing her friends’ confused expressions, whispered to them, "You will get used to seeing this kind of drama. Those two always act like that," a hint of laughter in her tone.
It was only then that the girls understood that there was nothing to worry about.
Tiana, after getting her second mother’s forgiveness, sat back on her chair, a smile on her face. It was as if the drama didn’t happen at all.
Briar, seeing everyone at the table, didn’t bother to explain her actions. These kids weren’t her elders, and they didn’t deserve any explanations from her at all.
"We have prepared a healthy al. I hope that you will enjoy it!" she said rrily to them, her voice very soft and pleasing to listen to.
The girls smiled in return as they looked at her in wonder.
Lyra smiled at her friends, looking forward to their reactions.
"Thank you, Auntie."
Briar bead at them before nodding at the chefs who received the order.
Monts later, serving dishes were placed on the table and the familiar scent of dicine wafted in the air.
The girls looked at Lyra, who was smiling, and they all knew one thing: ’The popular dicinal al was here!’
Lyra was soone who loved sharing the good and bad things with her friends. And since they were friends, she sotis shared with them her dicinal lunchbox, so they knew it pretty well.
Just that when it’s a lunchbox, it would be little, but now, everything was dicated. For people like them who weren’t used to having such kinds of als, it seed that the al was going to be one of a kind.
At the table, there was no such thing as serving another person. So once the serving dishes were at the table, Briar took the empty plate in front of her and started serving the dishes she wanted to eat.
As a sick person, the chef prepared a small pot of porridge for her, and the side dishes were shared with everyone.
Since she was sick, she couldn’t personally cook but directed the chefs on how she wanted the dishes cooked. They were dicinal dishes, after all.
Tiana, seeing Briar serving porridge, the little girl beca greedy and looked at her with her cute and big eyes and shalessly asked, "Mother, can I have the porridge as well?"
She had been seeing her eating porridge even at night and the way she ate it made the little girl imagine a thousand scenarios.
Briar, hearing the girl asking for that, didn’t mind. After all, she was fed up with eating porridge, but with the doctor’s orders that she needed to eat light food, she could only fill her belly with it.
Having soone share the sa burden with her, how could she object?
"Sure. But only serve that you can finish!"
Tiana nodded and hurriedly served a few spoons before leaving porridge enough for one serving.
Lyra, feeling greedy, took the remaining serving and the girls watched that with confusion on their faces.
’Since when did porridge beco popular for dinner?’
However, that answer was right in front of them. The three yer ladies served porridge, so vegetables and at before they were ready to dig in.
The girls didn’t touch any porridge but opted for other dishes, though they couldn’t escape the dicinal dishes in the process.
Everyone had their plates full and started eating in peace without too much chattering. At so point, Cade opened his mouth and suddenly said, "Second Mother, can I have so porridge?" shocking everyone at the table.
