Chapter 80: 80. My wife brought .

"Now?" I ask, gesturing to the children. "Who will stay here?"

She clicks her tongue, "Oh that’s true." She nods. "Then we will go once the service is over. Oh, but what if he leaves before all the parents co to pick up their kids?" She mumbles worriedly.

It’s sohow funny and cute how she always seriously wants

to see the new handso man in church even when she knows I’m married.

"Oh, what are we gonna do? You know, he even brought two new mbers."

"Did he?"

"Yeah, An elderly man that looks like a butler and another more handso young man!! The new guy is blond and more beautiful than the old new guy."

A guy that looks like a butler and a blonde guy? Why is my head suddenly going to Gio and Alan? Then that would make Janey’s old newcor, Duke?

"Hahaha..." I suddenly laugh out loud.

"What?" Janey asks.

"Nothing, I just thought of sothing funny." I shake my head. Duke has never been here before. What am I thinking? It’s funny indeed. I don’t even think he knows exactly where I worship.

"Oh the blond new guy is so, so, so fine. I think I have a crush on him, Champagne." She says and I laugh.

"Really? What about the other guy?"

"He is fine and I might have had a crush on him but that was before I saw the blonde new guy. The blonde new guy is an eye candy," She squeals and I can’t help but laugh.

"Candy!!" one child shouts. "I like candy!"

"You’ll get candy once you’re done coloring Gerald, so color it beautifully." I tell the boy and he nods with much enthusiasm.

I turn back to Janey and we both begin to laugh.

...

"Miss Champagne, I wanna dwink water." A little girl walks up to

and says.

"Alright Cassie, co and have so."

"No, my mummy is with my water. Can we go get it?" She asks so sweetly that I can’t deny her this simple request even though I can tell she just wants to go to her mummy and the water might as well be a facade.

"Oh sweetie, service is almost over, you’ll go see your mummy soon, why don’t we wait for about ten more minutes, hmm."

"Oh, I don’t want to go to my mummy, I just want to coyyect my water." She says with big brown clear eyes, "Pyease," she drawls while staring at

with intense cuteness!!

Oh God! Her cuteness is blinding!!!

"Oh alright. Let’s go get your water from your mummy." I say and take her hand.

"Are you going to et her mum?" Janey asks.

"She says she wants so water and her water is with her mum." I explain.

"You can just wait it out, they should be giving announcents by now, so service is almost over." She shrugs and she’s right.

"She pleaded so adorably." I say and Janey laughs as I walk away with Cassie.

As we walk to the main church, with Cassie happily singing ’I saw the light’ I can hear the announcents being taken. Janey was right.

"There’ll be a eting of married n after the service, if you’re a married man in the congregation, please wait behind, we promise not to take much of your ti. Thank you." Mary is the one giving the announcent.

We silently walk into the church, find Cassie’s mother and like I already expected, all the child wanted was to escape the children’s church and co to her mom. I quietly hand her over without any stress and walk out while the announcents are still on going.

...

"Ah, what are you mommies and daddies doing? Why aren’t they picking you up?" Janey cries out in frustration. The service officially closed just five minutes ago and she’s already feeling restless because she fears the handso n she wanted to show

would leave again without

seeing them.

"Calm down Janey, it’s only been five minutes." I say as we put away the crayons and pencils we used.

"Those kinds of beautiful n never stay an extra minute after the service is over. They just run ho as if the church is chasing them out, those guys will leave and you won’t get a chance to et them and—"

"Alan!!" I hear the twins suddenly shout and at first I think they are talking about the eight year old kid nad who happens to be Cassie’s older brother.

"Alan? Cassie is already with your mo—" I turn towards the door and my words cut at my throat.

That’s not a small eight year old. That’s a fully grown man, whom I recognize.

The twins instantly run up to him and at the very sa ti, Janey is tapping my arm nonstop without saying a single word!

She’s tapping

with one hand and pointing at the man at the door with another hand, with her mouth opened wide.

"Words, Janey, use your words." I say as her tapping is becoming very painful. I’m certain that part of my arm will be red.

"The_the_the," she finally finds her voice, albeit in a stuttering ss. "Th_that’s the handso blond guy I was telling you about!" She finally uses her words.

No way!

I an, it can’t be.

Does that an that my dumb hunch was right?

If Alan is the very handso blond guy that Janey was talking about, that would an that—

"Hah, I’m always glad to hear about my aesthetics." He laughs and winks at Janey!! And I can see the young girl going faint.

Oh my gosh! Is that really Alan?! This is a side of him I’ve never seen!

He ruffles the hair of the twins with both his hands as he walks into the class. "I’m Alan by the way." He says with a hand stretched out to Janey.

Isn’t this the very sa man who is hostile towards people he doesn’t know?! What’s happening right now? And more importantly, how and why is he here?!

Janey lifts her hand to take his own but her hands are trembling like jelly, so she just holds back her hand instead and smiles foolishly at him.

"Alan, what are you doing here?" I finally ask the question that is bugging .

"Why, I’m here to pick up my nephew and niece." He says, then adds, "And my sister-in-law."

WHAT???!!!

Sister-in-law?!! Since when has he addressed

like that?!

"S_s_Sister-in-law?!! HUH!!!" Janey gasps as she stares at

with big wide opened eyes.

She will not believe

if I tell her right now that I am as shocked as he is. Maybe even more shocked.

Wait a minute, does that an that—

"Are you by any chance with—"

"Oh, are you asking about Duke?! Your husband?!!" Why is he suddenly talking very loudly? As though he wants the whole world to hear.

"He’s in a eting right now." He says and I let out a sigh. So he didn’t co here. I was just worried and excited for nothing. Thank God.

"For a lazy person like him, I wonder why he’ll be holding work etings on a Sunday." I mumble.

"Oh I didn’t say work eting." Alan says and it’s crazy how those words are able to make my brain cells super active and now I’m shaking my head in a no as that worry and excitent washes over

again, "He’s in a church eting for married n."

You have got to be kidding !

...

Leaving Janey to wait for the rest of the parents to co pick up their children and the twins with Alan, I walk slash run towards the main church, half answering any greeting that was thrown my way.

"Signora Grand, it was a fine service." I hear Gio’s voice and Jane’s words rang in my head, ’One that looks like a butler’ I turn around to find Giovanni standing next to a car I recognize as one of Duke’s cars and he’s waving at .

Janey wasn’t lying at all.

If the one that looks like a butler is actually Gio, and the handso and blond one is actually Alan that would only an that truly, really—

"Let’s all welco brother Duke to our midst. It’s the first ti he’d be joining us in such a eting." I hear soone saying as I reach the door to the church.

I enter the church and I can see the n clapping their hands and exchanging handshakes with the new fella.

"Brother Duke, are you here alone?" I hear soone ask as I slowly walk past people heading out of the church and now I can see them clearly.

"Did you not co with your wife?" They are asking the brother who is seated on a wooden chair that is facing my direction.

"Actually—" Seated in that oh so proud and charismatic manner, with one long leg crossed over the other, and his hand folded on his chest, he opens his mouth to speak and that’s when he finally lifts his eyes and our gazes are interlocked.

A slow delicate smile curls up the corner of his lips as his lashes sweep over his eyes, breaking the eye contact we shared.

"Actually my wife brought

here." He says. Oh dear God...

"Really? Does that an your wife is a mber of our church?" Soone asks.

He nods, "Yes." He says and lifts his lashes again, his eyes are on mine once more, my heart is pounding in my chest like a thousand bongo drums are being played inside

"Is she soone we know?" Soone asks.

He shrugs "Maybe."

His smile grows wider the longer he stares and I can feel heat rush up and down my body, rising up to my neck and face as all heads turn around to stare at what he’s smiling at.

Oh God, I hate this man!!!

I just love him so damn much to an unhealthy point.
