Chapter 104: 104.Dont be mad at .

Just as I had expected, they had blocked the news of what happened last night from getting out. It was not even in the entertainnt news. However, no matter how much they tried to block it from going out, their influence could only go as far as blocking news articles and news reports but not the entire internet.

Once news like that got onto the internet, there was no easy way to curb it. Not when every person on every social dia platform had made it their main point of discussion, and especially not when about fifty s and stickers has been created using Alicia’s many expressions from last night.

As of now, she’s been tagged, "Slut of the century" and "Gold digger of the highest order." as if those where not bad enough, I saw so calling her "Husband snatcher, Bitch of the family," and many more that I can’t even rember but I know I laughed really hard at every new na I found for her.

While Alicia and aunt Evelyn are continuously receiving hate on the internet, Duke and I on the other hand are being cheered on.

Of course Duke is getting most of the attention.

He’s been tagged, "Husband of the century, Mr No-Nonsense, The impenetrable man, Mr Lover-Lover," he’s been gaining so many nas.

Everyone loves Duke Grand.

They’re drooling over him,

It’s kind of fascinating that the man that the whole internet is drooling over at this mont is sitting with

in the sa office, and has been trying to make

go have lunch with him for almost thirty minutes now.

I feel this sense of pride to know that though so many clearly want this man, he seems to want only . His eyes are only on .

I lift my eyes from my monitor and through my glass lens, I see him staring at

from his own desk. "Duke, what do you want from ?" I ask with a little laugh before returning my gaze to my monitor.

"You already know what I want, let’s have lunch." He casually says while flipping through so docunts.

"But you’re also busy." I remind him.

"No, I’m only pretending to be busy because I’m waiting for you to say yes. I can always do this later." He shrugs.

I let out a little sigh and gently take off my glasses, "What will we be having for lunch?" The smile that appears on his face after I say those words is worth a thousand yeses.

...

"Oh, shoot!" He hisses as we get to the ground floor of the building.

"What?"

"I left my keys. Wait a minute, I’ll quickly go get it." He says and walks back into the elevator. "Wait for ." He says again and I nod. "Seriously, don’t go out there alone. I ordered the security to chase all the reporters but there might still be so lurking around, alright?"

"Yes, daddy. I’ll listen to you and wait for you right here." I say and he chuckles and shakes his head and he allows the doors of the elevator to finally close.

I understand why he would be worried about the reporters, earlier today there were more than twenty reporters with caras and all waiting for us at the company. I was so flustered to see so many reporters trying to get a word out of .

But looking out now, "I don’t think there’s any reporter out there right now." Let’s just wait for Duke patiently.

I walk towards a chair and sit myself down there. I pull out my phone, "Let’s see if Duke Grand is still among the top ten searches of the day."

As I expected, my dearest is still trending. He doesn’t have too many pictures floating on the internet. In fact most of the images that people are posting about him are from last night. He once told

he didn’t like paparazzi.

"How did I marry such a handso man?" I squeal a little too loud and workers going about their business give

a little stare while greeting

at the sa ti. They must think their boss is crazy. Well who can deny I am crazy for Duke.

I an look at how handso he is. Not just that, he has a wonderful personality, well he can be a little rude to others sotis, but he is sweet to , he has a lovely voice, he gave

two lovely children and he loves

like crazy too. How can I not love Duke Grand?

"He looks like her handso bodyguard, standing behind her like that." I read a comnt underneath an image from last night, it’s that ti when aunt Evelyn had signaled her security to move , and Duke ca to join

on stage. He does look scary hovering behind

like that.

I zoom into the picture, staring at his eyes, his nose, his lips, oh he is just so—

My actions are interrupted when my phone rings. Unknown number is what is showing on the screen. Who could it be? A reporter? But Duke told

he had blocked all reporters from contacting . Then I wonder who it could be.

"Hello?" I say as I pick the call. "Hello?" I say again, but there’s no response. "Hello? Is it the network?" I wonder, "Hello? He—"

"Chammy." Ah, that voice is a little different from what I rember. It’s shaking, unstable, hoarse and low... But I still recognize the voice. I hate to admit it, but even in such a shaky state, I recognize the voice.

"Rowan." I say his na.

"L_Like I had expected, you recognized my voice." He’s laughing.

"Why are you calling ?"

"Champagne, my love, I know what I did to you was unforgivable, I know that but do you seriously not love

again? Are you really happy with that bastard?"

"What are you even saying right now? Why don’t you stop running and turn yourself in? The entire nation is looking for you. I think the law will have rcy on you if you co in yourself so why don’t you just stop running now."

"Champagne, my love, do you really want to see

behind bars? You know you don’t want that. You know you still love ."

"You’re just being delusional now. I don’t—" The phone is suddenly yanked out of my hand and I instantly rise to my feet as I realize it’s Duke.

"The next ti you call this number," Duke’s voice, it has changed to that dark tone again. That one that sotis scares . "You will regret choosing the life of a fugitive." He says and instantly ends the call.

Now his eyes are on . Those heated eyes, and I’m a little scared to look at him right now, "I— I didn’t know he was the one calling." I manage to say.

"Let’s go." He grabs my hand and pulls

along with him.

We get to his car, he opens the door for

and sets

in the car seat. He walks around and enters the drivers seat starts the car and I wonder if he’s seriously mad at .

"I’m sorry." I say as the car is about to move. He stops and stares at , "I’m sorry so don’t be mad at . It scares

when you get angry." I confess.

"I_" He pauses then sighs. "I’m not mad at you." His voice has changed. It’s softer again so I lift my lashes and I can see his gaze gas softened too.

"I’m only annoyed that the bastard had the nerve to call you."

"You’re not mad at ?" I ask and he brings his hand to my head and ruffles my hair like he would do to Renny.

"Why would I be mad at you?" He asks and I can’t stop myself from jumping into his arms and hugging him. He holds on to

and I feel a lot better already.

"I’m sorry for scaring you." He says with a kiss on the side of my face.

I lift my head from his shoulder and just gaze into his eyes. "I want to kiss you." I say and I see his eyes dilate.

"Then kiss ." He says.

"I’m afraid it might go beyond kissing." I tell him.

"We are supposed to go and get lunch dearest." He reminds . I really don’t care about lunch. The snack I want is Duke Grand.

"Can’t we shift it to later?" I ask.

"Are you seriously saying you want to do it now?" He bluntly asks with a little shock evident on his face. I give him a nod as a response.

"Seriously, Pagne, you have no idea how crazy you drive ." He says and I smile because even he has no idea how much his expressions and entire deanor affects .

I’m scared of making him sad, scared of making him angry, scared of doing anything that will bring a frown to his face. Yet I love the look of jealousy he sotis has on his face.

I want to see him laugh, I want to see him happy all the ti and I want to do whatever I can to make that happen.

Duke has no idea how much he affects .
