Maverick paused and turned to look at the smiling old man. His lips curled into a faint smile before saying; "Old Man Wu, you should be resting. Farewell," he turned and left with his n.

After he left, Old Man Wu’s grandson asked with a frown. "Grandfather, what does he an by that? I feel it’s a threat to your life."

"Don’t worry, Lu Ren cannot hurt in the least. If he wanted to, he would have done so when he was here. Besides, the organization is already mad at him for what he had done to so of the mbers. He won’t dare to act rashly for so ti." the old man said.

"Ok. About his son and his wife, what you said, was it the truth?"

"Yes, it is, but it has not been decided by the majority. Elder Five is strongly against killing Jeslyn?... Is that her na?" the old man asked with doubt. He doesn’t care about Jeslyn, so he felt her na isn’t worth taking to heart.

"Yes, grandfather," the young man replied.

"Good. That Elder Five, I wonder why he’s so against killing Jeslyn. He has even threatened to bring the organization down if a hair on Jeslyn’s head goes missing. Now he has been imprisoned in the base."

"That’s strange. Elder Five never cared about anything." the young man said with doubt.

"Yes, but he does now. He has a weakness and in no ti, he’d turn out like his twin brother."

The young man’s eyes lit up when he heard that, so he imdiately asked; "Grandfather, would I get a chance to beco an Elder of Elder Five or is it out of the picture?"

"Ahem," the old man cleared his throat. "Why do you think I’m going all out to offend Lu Ren? A lot of people want to be an Elder."

"Thank you, Grandfather," the young man bead. Just then, disturbing loud sounds shook the building they were in.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

Loud explosions went off one after the other, sending the people in the room into a panic.

"What is going on outside!?" The old man questioned.

"We don’t know, boss!"

"Get the hell out there and find out!" the young man thundered.

"Boom!"

"Go, now!"

A guard ran out after that. So ti later, he barged into the room and reported in fright.

"Master, there’s– there’s trouble!" he said while trying to catch his breath. It was obvious he had been running.

"What the hell is happening?!" the young man abandoned his grandfather’s chair and lurched towards the guard. He grabbed the collar of the guard’s shirt while glaring at him.

"Young Master, there are–"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"There are fighting jets flying around the base and dropping down bom–"

"Boom!"

"F*ck!" the Young Master shoved the guard away in frustration. He tried to think of a way out and ruffled his hair when nothing was coming to mind. With one hand on his waist, he pointed at the door, "Get out there and blow those jets off!"

The guard stayed silent for a while before he responded, "Yes, Young Master!"

After the guard and his n left, Old Man Wu shut his old eyes and took a deep breath. He took out his phone to make a call but discovered there was no signal.

"Call your brother," he instructed his young grandson.

"Yes, grandfather," the Young Master brought out his phone. No signal!

"All of you, bring out your phones. Check if there is a signal," he ordered the guards standing around.

Every single one of them brought out their phones but no signal could be found.

"Shit!!"

"Lu Ren!" The old man called through gritted teeth.

"Grandfather, what should we do?"

"We need to survive first. Let’s go through the tunnel back to the mainland."

"Yes, grandfather."

With everyone in the room leaving through the underground tunnel in the building, the thousands of n in the Wu base were left to die horribly in the devastating assault launched on them by none other than Alpha Chaos!

Inside the tunnel, Old Man Wu and his few n, plus his grandson had gone a long way. After leaving the tunnel, they would arrive at their other base, through there, they could easily go back to the mainland.

To them, they thought the other base was still intact, but unfortunately, they thought less of Maverick’s anger.

By the ti they got there, the base was the remains of a ruined battleground.

"Grandfather," the Young Master called in disbelief.

"Lu Ren!" the Old Man was also lost. This base was their backup. No one except Wu’s family and a few trusted n from his personal guards knew about it. How did Lu Ren know about it?

"Master, the route to the mainland is blocked." A guard from the guards who had gone to look for a surviving soul ran back to report.

The old man held his chest. He was getting a symptom of a heart attack from all the stress.

Old Man Wu isn’t such an easy man to bring down but he was caught unaware by Maverick. Never in his wildest dreams would he have thought that Maverick would go this far.

Jeslyn’s matter wasn’t brought to him. When his son ordered so n to kidnap Jeslyn and send her to his new girlfriend Christine, he took advantage of it. The old man ordered for Jeslyn to be killed. In the end, not his son, nor Maverick would suspect him. If matters were finally exposed, Christine would be the culprit. After all, he hates Christine and her older sister; Emilee.

Who would have known that Maverick would send soone to inform him that his son had beat the drum of war?

Why did he forget that whenever any Young Master offended Maverick, instead of dealing with the person, he goes to the oldest person in the family to settle scores?

How could the old man forget that Maverick believes that a child’s misbehaviour was because the oldest and the most respected person in the family condoned such an attitude?

The old man thought that by calling Maverick over and threatening him, plus making him believe that he knows about Jeslyn’s true identity, Maverick would compromise and let his son go. Unfortunately, he didn’t know Maverick too well.

At the opposite end, a helicopter slowly descended and Maverick got down with a few n trailing behind him.
