Chapter 843: Chapter 844: The Belated Wedding (4)

"Qiangwei!"

The door to the resting suite was pushed open, and Huo Yishan, acting as the bridesmaid, walked in.

When she saw Gu Qiangwei, stunning in her bridal attire, she was completely stunned; she had never seen such a beautiful bride.

"Dear, you truly are the most beautiful bride in the whole world..."

Being so complinted by her best friend, Gu Qiangwei felt a bit embarrassed and joked back, "When you wear a wedding dress soday, you’ll be just as beautiful."

Huo Yishan pouted, "I don’t want to get married at all!"

"Not get married, so you plan to grow old alone?"

But Huo Yishan raised an eyebrow, "Who said I’m going to be alone? Don’t I still have my two godsons?"

"Pfft..." Gu Qiangwei couldn’t help but laugh at her response.

However, upon reflection, she was a bit worried about the friend before her.

"Yishan," she asked softly, "do you and Li Yuan really plan to just let it be?"

At her soft query, Huo Yishan’s figure stiffened slightly, but she quickly regained composure and looked up at Gu Qiangwei.

"What do you an let it be? There was never anything between Li Sao and ."

Upon hearing her answer, Gu Qiangwei’s face turned sowhat somber. Then, her gaze shifted to the figure entering from the doorway, and her expression abruptly changed.

Seeing where her gaze was fixed, Huo Yishan instinctively turned her head and saw Li Yuan walk in dressed as a groomsman.

When her eyes t his clear, cold black pupils, Huo Yishan’s heart suddenly tightened a bit.

But quickly, she concealed that emotion beneath a smile.

She walked towards Li Yuan with a smile and playfully patted his chest, "Not bad, looking sharp!"

After patting him, not even waiting for Li Yuan to speak, she turned and left with the words, "Ah, I’m going to check on my two godsons!"

With her words falling, she walked towards the inner rest area.

Li Yuan’s gaze lingered on her retreating back, while Gu Qiangwei clearly caught the fleeting sorrow on his stoic face.

She didn’t understand when these two were going to stop hiding their feelings from each other. Were they really planning to wait until it was too late, perhaps when he was married and she was with soone else, to speak up?

Gu Qiangwei sighed softly, truly anxious for both of them.

Unfortunately, with matters of the heart, outsiders simply couldn’t intervene.

After a while, Li Yuan finally shifted his gaze from Huo Yishan’s back and turned towards Gu Qiangwei, equally captivated by her beauty.

"Qiangwei, you are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen."

With a smile, Gu Qiangwei was about to say ’thank you’, but then on second thought, she changed her mind and said instead, "You and Yishan really are in sync."

Li Yuan’s smile widened slightly, "How so?"

"Because she said the sa thing to

when she walked in."

She truly hoped that Li Yuan would soon realize that Yishan actually liked him, but she had just been too stubborn to acknowledge her feelings ever since she found out about his engagent to another woman.

Looking at her, Li Yuan paused briefly then simply smiled lightly, "Is that so."

Gu Qiangwei felt a pang of disappointnt, and involuntarily sighed to herself.

"By the way, after your wedding, I might go back to Country A."

This unexpected statent made Gu Qiangwei’s face abruptly change, "Back to Country A?"

"Yes."

"What does that an? Are you not coming back?" If it was just a simple trip to Country A, Li Yuan probably wouldn’t have made a point of telling her.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Li Yuan smiled and said with a slight smirk, "Yes, I need to go back and manage the family business. I’ve had enough fun; it’s ti to get serious."
