“Good girl!”

After finishing, he also gave one to both Qin Sijue and Qin Feimo.

The elder lady, having finished distributing, imdiately turned her head towards Qin Guozhong, “Old man, it’s your turn!”

Qin Guozhong held the red envelopes in his hand, glancing at the two couples in front of him with pursed lips and a face not too pleased.

He stood up, walked in front of the two couples, first gave one to Qin Feimo and Feng Jinglei, then Qin Sijue, and finally ca to Gu Qiangwei.

“Thank you, Grandfather.” Feng Jinglei said, smiling as she thanked him for the red envelope.

The two n, however, were not good with words and silently took the red envelopes without saying anything.

Qin Guozhong approached Gu Qiangwei, his sharp eyes staring at her, unyieldingly intense, as if trying to bore a large hole through her.

Gu Qiangwei beca increasingly uncomfortable, her palms nearly sweating.

She felt that everyone in the Qin Family was easy to get along with, except Qin Guozhong.

“Grandfather, she’s my wife, please stop staring at her like that, I’ll mind it a lot!”

Just as everyone was watching Qin Guozhong’s movents, Qin Sijue suddenly burst out with this sentence.

Taken aback by his grandson’s words, Qin Guozhong seed a bit slow to respond, but when he did, his brows furrowed and eyes glared at Sijue, “You little rascal, what kind of talk is that!?”

“Human talk!”

“…”

The living room fell silent, until the elder lady let out a burst of laughter that broke the standoff between grandfather and grandson.

“Pfft!”

Qin Guozhong looked at his wife, then at his grandson, and finally pursed his lips, letting out a snort, and handed the red envelope in front of Gu Qiangwei, “Take it.”

The simple two words made Gu Qiangwei surprisingly flustered, uncertain whether to accept or not.

“What, is it too little for you?”

Gu Qiangwei hesitated, then quickly extended her hand and eagerly thanked him, “Thank you—Mr. Qin, Old Master Qin.”

“…” Old Master Qin?

Qin Guozhong frowned, unable to pinpoint why, but upon hearing Gu Qiangwei’s address, he felt slightly displeased.

Why call his wife ‘Grandma’ but refer to him as ‘Old Master Qin’?

“Impolite!”

He muttered quietly, but did not say anything more, instead he sat back down on the sofa with a stern face.

Gu Qiangwei stood still, looking at Qin Guozhong, unsure what his ‘impolite’ comnt was supposed to an.

Should she not have addressed him in that way?

Oh right, she rembered hearing that outsiders usually address him as ‘Commander’! So perhaps he didn’t like being called Old Master Qin.

That was the only explanation Gu Qiangwei could think of.

“Co here.”

A while later, Qin Sijue suddenly pulled her hand and headed towards the back of the yard.

Gu Qiangwei was puzzled, just letting him lead her along.

It was very cold outside, and she didn’t know why he was taking her to the backyard.

Only after coming out did Gu Qiangwei realize how large the Commander Residence’s backyard was, lush and verdant even in winter.

“What are we doing outside?”

Standing on the back door steps, Gu Qiangwei turned around, looking at Qin Sijue.

Qin Sijue also turned his head, his handso face losing its previous casualness, becoming sowhat more serious and restrained.

He pulled her along to the very back of the yard.

Gu Qiangwei didn’t know what he intended to show her until they walked along a winding path and a collection of gravestones appeared before her eyes.

Looking at the gravestones arranged in two rows, Gu Qiangwei’s face held a blank expression until her gaze landed on the nas on the gravestones.

Qin Chengyan and An Zhiya?

Suddenly realizing sothing, she turned her head to look at Qin Sijue.

They must be his parents.
