Chapter 418: Chapter 419: Could She Be Your Mother?
She looked up, t his aningful eyes, and finally lowered her head, muttering softly, “I’m not a sow…”
“Pfft!”
He chuckled and held her even tighter.
“Who says that having many children makes one a sow? Even if that were the case, it wouldn’t be a big deal… I’ll just be your boar,” he said as he looked down at her slightly discontented face.
Gu Qiangwei glanced at him but didn’t say anything more.
She also knew that the child was gone and that even if she killed Nangong Feifei, her child would not co back.
“Did you cripple Nangong Feifei’s leg?”
“Mmm.”
He wrapped his arms around her, lounging in the wooden chair, seemingly admiring the clear, cloudless sky, yet actually appearing to be deep in thought.
Gu Qiangwei didn’t speak again; perhaps her life was just that worthless, worth no more than one of Nangong Feifei’s legs.
Turning her head, she leaned weakly into his embrace, her seemingly distant gaze filled with contemplation.
“By the way, are you close to Tang Yuyan?” he suddenly looked down at her and asked.
Gu Qiangwei paused, made no move, and continued to lean on him. “We’re not particularly close, but…” Her words reached her lips, and then she hesitated.
There hadn’t been much interaction with Tang Yuyan, but their relationship seed to have naturally ward, as if they hadn’t just t recently but had known each other for a very long ti.
But she had no mory of soone nad Tang Yuyan, and Tang Yuyan had clearly stated that she didn’t know her.
“But what?”
He looked down at her thoughtful face.
“I just feel a certain inexplicable closeness to Tang Yuyan.”
“Could it be that she is your mother, who has been missing for many years?”
His sudden remark startled Gu Qiangwei, making her jump up from his embrace, wide-eyed and speechless, “What… are you saying?”
“As far as I know, both Nangong Mingchuan and Tang Yuyan possess Demon’s Blood.”
Gu Qiangwei stared at him, dumbfounded.
But after a mont, she ca back to her senses. “What does that prove?”
“Didn’t you say you felt an unexplainable closeness with her?”
He looked at her, the idea actually having occurred to him on the spur of the mont because he thought she bore a slight resemblance to Tang Yuyan.
However, there are many people in the world who look alike; so even to the point of being indistinguishable. So, this alone certainly couldn’t be conclusive proof.
The reason he blurted it out was simply because he was going along with what she had just said.
Gu Qiangwei sighed, “That may be true, but it’s impossible.”
“Why do you conclude that it’s impossible?”
“Because the first ti I t her, I asked if we had t sowhere before, and she asserted that she had not t ,” Gu Qiangwei said, feeling a strange sense of loss in her heart.
Staring at her, Qin Sijue said nothing.
“Besides, she’s Mrs. Nangong, how could she possibly be my mother who’s been missing for so long? If she really was, she couldn’t have forgotten about her own daughter, could she?”
She looked up, feeling that the idea was naive and ridiculous.
If Tang Yuyan really were her mother, then wouldn’t Nangong Mingchuan be her father? And if that were the case, what would Nangong Feifei be? Her sister?
Heh…
Thinking of this lodramatic scenario, Gu Qiangwei couldn’t believe it herself.
“Indeed.”
Qin Sijue also found it incredible, after all, Tang Yuyan was a mber of the Nangong family, which was an indisputable fact.
