Chapter 284: Chapter 284: It’s That Sister From Last Ti!
Yet, just as he was stepping out, the phone in his arms suddenly rang.
His pace halted, and he stood still, pulling out his phone.
It was his cousin Qin Feimo calling.
Because in three days it would be the eightieth birthday of the Qin family’s old madam, he was specially summoned to Qin Mansion tonight to discuss how to arrange the birthday banquet.
He and Qin Feimo were both only children, their parents having died when they were young, and this filial piety naturally fell only to the two of them, as grandsons, to fulfill.
“Have you arrived?”
As soon as he answered the phone, without saying anything, Qin Feimo’s voice naturally ca from the other end.
The call was partly to use this opportunity to have him co back for a visit, so that the grandparents would be at ease. As for the birthday banquet, having his cousin there was secondary.
“Mm, I’ll be there in a while,” Qin Sijue spoke in a sowhat low voice. After hanging up the phone, he glanced at the familiar alleyway not far away, then turned and got back into the black sedan.
On the other side.
Steaming hot century egg and pork congee was served, the long-missed flavor made her nostalgic.
Scooping up a spoonful, the thick congee was fragrant and overflowing with scent. Just as Gu Qiangwei was about to eat, a sowhat familiar voice suddenly pierced her ears.
“Mommy, it’s that sister from last ti!”
At the sound, Gu Qiangwei instinctively looked up and t a pair of round, wide eyes.
At the entrance of the porridge shop, Tang Yuyan, holding her son’s hand, also paused slightly in surprise upon seeing Gu Qiangwei there.
Seeing Tang Yuyan, Gu Qiangwei’s action of eating porridge stopped montarily, as she just stared fixedly at the mother and son standing there.
It wasn’t long before Tang Yuyan, still holding her son, approached her.
Still with that air of graceful composure and being above worldly concerns.
“Miss Gu.”
Knowing she was Nangong Feifei’s mother, Gu Qiangwei couldn’t help but feel a sense of distance in her heart.
She did not want to beco friends with Nangong Feifei’s mother and brother, but strangely, she couldn’t bring herself to dislike the middle-aged woman before her.
“Lady Nangong.”
She spoke in a calm tone, which seed much cooler than the last ti.
“Sister, did you co for porridge too?”
Nangong Xi looked at Gu Qiangwei. Normally, not prone to smiling, he smiled upon seeing Gu Qiangwei.
Facing the little boy, Gu Qiangwei couldn’t remain indifferent and smiled back, “Mm.”
“The century egg and pork congee here is especially delicious, isn’t it? I super love it too!” the little boy exclaid excitedly.
Looking at Nangong Xi, Gu Qiangwei didn’t know what to say for a mont, and besides, the mother and son were still standing.
Noticing that her table was still half empty, she spoke calmly, “Would you like to join ?”
“Sure.” Tang Yuyan smiled elegantly and, holding her son’s hand, sat down at the seat opposite her.
After ordering two servings of porridge, Nangong Xi ate with relish while Gu Qiangwei seed to have lost her appetite.
She was sowhat puzzled. She had been looking forward to this taste, but after just two spoonfuls, she found the food tasteless.
“May I call you Qiangwei?”
Across from her, Tang Yuyan suddenly spoke.
Gu Qiangwei looked up, sowhat taken aback.
Facing her amiable tone, even though she wanted to keep her distance, it seed difficult to do.
“As you wish.”
“I don’t understand, why did you seem to not want to beco too close to
when you found out last ti that I am Feifei’s mother?” She seed to overlook the fact that Qin Sijue and Nangong Feifei were engaged, and she forgot that the woman with Qin Sijue was Gu Qiangwei.
“You are Nangong Feifei’s mother, and I… I suppose am considered her rival in love.”
She lowered her head, idly stirring the congee in her spoon, without any appetite to eat.
“Is that really all there is?” Tang Yuyan asked.
