Chapter 26: Chapter 26 What is your relationship with Li Yuan?

Editor: Atlas Studios

“What’s wrong? Are you having trouble at work?”

She looked at him, intending to cheer him up first before asking about the phone.

The next second, Qin Sijue suddenly turned his head and leaned in close to her, catching Gu Qiangwei off guard. She imdiately felt a bit panicked.

“What, what are you doing?” she asked, her face full of wariness.

Qin Sijue moved closer, his deep black eyes staring intensely into hers, “What is your relationship with Li Yuan?”

Gu Qiangwei was baffled.

Li Yuan?

What relationship could she possibly have with Li Yuan? She had only t him a bit later than Qin Sijue.

“No, no relationship at all!”

The man’s breath was on her face, causing her to feel inexplicably nervous. She was breathing rapidly, her heart pounding like a scared deer.

“No relationship and yet you ca here together?”

Gu Qiangwei felt this man was being sowhat unreasonable, yet she found herself explaining anyway.

“I don’t have a car, nor money, and my luggage is here with you; he just kindly gave

a ride.”

As she spoke, Gu Qiangwei didn’t even know why she was explaining all this to Qin Sijue.

Qin Sijue stopped his interrogation, seemingly satisfied with her answer.

He sat up straight, no longer speaking.

“That… can I have my phone back?”

Even after he had moved away, the tension in Gu Qiangwei’s chest had not yet subsided.

“You’re in such a hurry to leave?”

He turned his head, his expression still somber.

Gu Qiangwei grumbled internally: This isn’t my ho, why should I stay?

“I need to find a place to live this afternoon.”

With only the afternoon left, what would she do if she couldn’t find a place? Would she end up sleeping on the street?

Of course, staying at a hotel was an option, but it was too expensive given her limited funds.

Plus, she had work to do at night, so finding a place quickly was essential.

Upon hearing this, Qin Sijue slightly knitted his brows.

“Aren’t you from the Gu Family?”

She looked up, eting his eyes. Her expression suddenly darkened.

“Yes, but I ran away from ho.”

“Why did you run away from ho?”

Normally reserved, he didn’t know why he kept following up her statents with questions.

Gu Qiangwei looked up, sowhat puzzled by Qin Sijue.

Then she lowered her gaze, her expression desolate, “That place has been devoid of love for a long ti. There’s no reason to return.”

“You don’t want to go back?”

She shook her head.

“Then stay here!”

She bolted upright, her eyes widened, “What?”

“Isn’t it that you have nowhere to stay?”

“I… can find a place!” she stamred, feeling it unreasonable to stay here as they were not that close.

“Then you can leave!”

Her refusal stirred his emotions once more, which had just cald down.

Gu Qiangwei noticeably sensed his dark mood, truly unpredictable.

But before leaving, she had to retrieve her phone.

“That, my phone…”

Qin Sijue took the phone from beside the couch and placed it on the coffee table.

He had casually thrown it into the couch upon seeing the ssages earlier.

Seeing the phone, Gu Qiangwei imdiately picked it up, expectantly checking the contacts.

Since she left the Gu Mansion, Gu Zhendong had neither called nor texted her.

Indeed, that familial bond was too much to hope for.

Holding the phone and dragging her suitcase, she walked away with a heavy heart.

Just as she reached the door, seeing the vast blue sky, she hesitated.

How was she going to leave?

Turning back, she saw the man sitting in the living room and, after a long silence, Gu Qiangwei walked back.

She asked, “Could you arrange for soone to drive

away? I’ll pay for the ride!”
