He hurriedly scooped her into his arms, his brow deeply furrowed.

Cold and sharp eyes lifted to scan the entire living room, taking in Gu Zhendong and Chen Peifang, as well as Gu Shijie.

Seeing strangers arriving, even barging in, Chen Peifang couldn’t help but assu the posture of the lady of the house from her position on the staircase.

“Who are you? How did you get in?”

Qin Sijue’s chilly gaze swept over them, and as it made contact with his intimidating eyes, Chen Peifang subconsciously felt oppressed, her speech instantly ceasing as her eyes flickered uncertainly.

Who exactly was this man who gave her the impression of an emperor making his entrance?

Or was it just her imagination?

Seeing his daughter being held by a strange man left Gu Zhendong sowhat bewildered for a mont, and he asked, “Who are you?”

Qin Sijue glanced at him but didn’t speak; instead, he turned with Gu Qiangwei in his arms and headed for the main entrance.

“Woof woof woof!” ngqi promptly followed.

“Where are you taking Qiangwei!?”

Gu Zhendong chased after them, his daughter injured, and although he felt Qin Sijue looked sowhat familiar, he didn’t really know him, nor could he recall who he was.

Hearing Gu Zhendong’s voice, Qin Sijue’s steps halted and he sharply turned his head to fix Gu Zhendong with a gaze that held a glint of cold light.

“From now on, her affairs are none of your business.”

Gu Zhendong was taken aback.

“Who on earth are you?”

He didn’t rember his daughter having a boyfriend or knowing any distinguished figures.

From the man’s clothing and the inherent noble air about him, it was clear he was no ordinary person.

Qin Sijue was silent for a few seconds before suddenly uttering a few words, “Her man.”

“…”

Her man?

Gu Zhendong’s brow furrowed, and even Luo Chen standing quietly to one side felt extrely surprised.

But upon hearing this, Chen Peifang couldn’t help laughing out loud with a sarcastic tone, “So you’re saying you’re that wild man she’s been with? No wonder she didn’t co ho all night!”

As she spoke, Chen Peifang glanced disdainfully at Gu Qiangwei in his arms.

It was the first ti that Qin Sijue had been referred to as a ‘wild man’, and a chill flashed in his dark eyes.

Luo Chen standing by was also stunned.

It was the first ti soone had dared to disparage the young master Qin in such a manner.

Holding Gu Qiangwei, Qin Sijue approached Chen Peifang and pressed her, “Do you have an objection?”

Chen Peifang was taken aback by the chill emanating from the man, sending a shiver through her as if she were in an ice cellar.

“She’s, she’s from our Gu Family, I…”

Chen Peifang lifted her gaze, trying to show her strength, but upon eting the man’s cold eyes, she found herself unable to utter another word.

Qin Sijue gave her one last look and ultimately left with Gu Qiangwei, exiting Gu Mansion.

Gu Shijie’s gaze fell on Qin Sijue’s tall and upright silhouette, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.

Where exactly had he seen this man before? He found himself montarily unable to recall.

And as for Gu Qiangwei’s departure, no one could have been more pleased than Chen Peifang.

She had long wanted to drive her out of the Gu Family! It seed that even the heavens were helping her, without any effort needed on her part.

“Mr. Qin, where to now?”

“Jueyuan. Call Li Yuan over.”

“Yes!”

The black Lincoln slowly departed and after half an hour arrived at Jueyuan.

No sooner had they gotten out of the car than Li Yuan also arrived.

Seeing the woman in Qin Sijue’s arms, Li Yuan couldn’t resist teasing him.

“I say, Young Master Qin, with your influence so great in Jingcheng, how co you still can’t protect your own woman?”

Qin Sijue shot him a glance, not yet speaking when Li Yuan added, “Oh, right, you’ve only just returned to the country; it makes sense that you couldn’t protect her.”
