Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Looking for the Adulterer?

That night, Qin Sijue spent the whole night in his study.

Fearing the fierce fire that had just subsided might reignite the mont he returned to bed, he resigned himself to an uncomfortable night in the study.

The next day, early morning.

Gu Qiangwei also seed to have had a restless night, waking up early.

Opening her eyes and getting out of bed, she looked at the familiar bathroom and hesitated for quite so ti before entering. After freshening up, she ca out.

After organizing a few items of clothing, she left the master bedroom, intending to leave this place for good.

Just as she was pulling her suitcase out, a figure appeared in the brightly lit hallway.

Instinctively turning her head, she t a pair of deep and narrow eyes.

Qin Sijue stopped in his tracks, his deep gaze sweeping over the suitcase in her hand.

She felt sowhat uncomfortable under his scrutiny, lowered her brows, and said, “I’m leaving.”

With that, she began pulling her suitcase towards the stairs.

“Off to find your lover?” His deep voice suddenly rose from behind her.

Gu Qiangwei’s steps faltered: “…”

Then she turned sharply, “What lover?”

“That Shen whatever his na is,” he looked at her, like a sovereign who ruled over all.

Gu Qiangwei frowned, replying irritably, “He is not any kind of lover!”

“Then what is he?”

She had wanted to say just a friend, but then she thought that to leave this place she needed a solid reason.

“Boy… friend!”

For so reason, as soon as she uttered those three words, she couldn’t bring herself to et his eyes, feeling like a thief with a guilty conscience.

“Isn’t that the sa as a lover?”

Gu Qiangwei looked up sharply, frowning, “How does that make him a lover?”

He boldly stated, “A married woman finds herself a pretty boy, if not a lover, what is he then?”

“…” Gu Qiangwei was at a loss for words.

She glared at the man before her, feeling that conversation with him was impossible! She simply stopped discussing it and, luggage in tow, turned to leave!

Reaching the ground floor, she headed straight for the main door, only to be blocked by two n in black as she approached the exit.

Frowning at the formidable n before her, she then turned to look at the man descending the stairs with deliberate slowness.

Her eyes seed to question his intentions.

However, Qin Sijue simply walked directly to the dining room, blatantly ignoring her questioning gaze.

The butler approached Gu Qiangwei and said, “Young Madam, breakfast is ready.”

Looking at Butler Qin, Gu Qiangwei felt a sense of gratitude in her heart.

After coming here, he had provided her with much care.

“Butler Qin, I’m truly not your Young Madam.”

Butler Qin paused for a mont, thinking she was concerned about the master and Miss Nangong.

“Is the Young Madam worried about the master?”

“No, Qin Sijue and I were only in a sham marriage from the start—”

Before she could finish her sentence, she was yanked by a force and dragged towards the dining room.

“Qin Sijue, let go of !”

She tried to break free from his grasp, but he firmly caught her in the crook of his arm.

“Be good and finish this al, then you can do whatever you want,” he said, seating her at the dining table.

Hearing his words, Gu Qiangwei was sowhat skeptical, “Really?”

“Of course,” he said, eyebrow cocked as he looked at her.

Gu Qiangwei glanced at the lavish breakfast before her, her stomach indeed feeling a bit hungry.

Not wanting to struggle in vain, she took a seat at the dining table.

But she didn’t say a word from beginning to end, instead rapidly finishing a bowl of porridge and a bun, then stood up, “I’m leaving!”

Saying so, she turned and walked away.
