Capítulo 1339: Chapter 1340: Xiang Jinnan’s Invitation

Seeing a taxi approaching in the distance, she raised her hand intending to flag one down.

“Beep! Beep—”

Suddenly, two honks interrupted Feng Jinglei’s attempt to hail a cab.

As she turned her gaze, the dazzling lights from the passing cars made it difficult to see the white Jaguar that had suddenly stopped not far from her.

“Jinglei.”

Was it Xiang Jinnan?

As the window of the white Jaguar slowly rolled down, revealing Xiang Jinnan’s handso and calm face, Feng Jinglei was a bit surprised.

After pausing for a few seconds, she stepped toward the car, “Jinnan?”

Seeing her at this ti and place, Xiang Jinnan was also quite surprised. He glanced at the ti displayed on the car’s screen; it was already past 7 o’clock.

“Shouldn’t you have already finished work? Why haven’t you gone ho?” He noticed that this place was still quite far from M Group. Why was she here alone?

Faced with Xiang Jinnan’s question, Feng Jinglei was montarily stunned, lowered her eyes, then lifted them again, “Just wandering around.”

Xiang Jinnan frowned slightly, noticing a trace of lancholy on her delicate face, as if sothing was bothering her.

“Have you eaten yet?”

“Not yet,” she replied.

“Great, I just got off work too. Join ?”

Looking at the man’s sincere face and thinking she really wasn’t keen on returning to the Commander Residence just yet, Feng Jinglei agreed.

She nodded, “Okay.”

Her agreent made Xiang Jinnan quite pleased. He got out of the car, walked around the front, and opened the passenger door for her.

Feng Jinglei hesitated for a few seconds, but with his gentlemanly gesture, she got into the passenger seat.

The two entered a local restaurant, ordered so signature dishes, and started chatting and eating.

Xiang Jinnan was very warm, as if he knew sothing was bothering her, and deliberately brought up so fun stories during the al. Feng Jinglei’s originally gloomy mood indeed improved significantly, and she even couldn’t help but laugh at tis.

“By the way, Jinglei.”

“Hmm?”

“I… have a favor to ask you.”

Feng Jinglei paused for two seconds, looking up at Xiang Jinnan, “What is it?”

“Well… at M Group’s 30th anniversary banquet, I want to invite you to be my date.”

Upon hearing this, Feng Jinglei was taken aback.

“M Group’s 30th anniversary banquet?”

Seeing her puzzled look, Xiang Jinnan was a little surprised, “You didn’t know?”

He thought she should have known about the banquet that was happening in three days since she was, after all, an employee of M Group now.

Feng Jinglei generally was not very concerned about these things, and she was just a small employee. Invitations to such banquets were usually ant for people in leadership positions, right?

She shook her head without making a sound, but her answer was clear.

Xiang Jinnan wasn’t surprised either, and smiled, “So, can you agree to this favor of mine?”

“I don’t really like such occasions, sorry.” She declined.

Being just a date might not an anything significant.

But it was M Group’s 30th anniversary banquet, and Qin Feimo would certainly be there, so she didn’t want to go.

Xiang Jinnan felt a bit down, gently sighed.

She’s still the sa as before, straightforward and decisive, which was precisely due to this personality that he never dared to confess back then.

Back then, her family conditions were very favorable, while he was just soone from an ordinary family, who got into a prestigious school through stellar academic performance, but all of this was still worlds apart from Feng Jinglei at that ti.
