Capítulo 1284: Chapter 1285: Endless Darkness

Curled up on the edge of the bed, Feng Jinglei looked at the pitch-dark room where she couldn’t see her own hand, her fear growing thicker and thicker as she desperately sought light, a glimr of brightness, yet no matter how she searched, all that pursued her was endless darkness, as if it was about to completely swallow her!

“No…” She didn’t want darkness, didn’t want loneliness, didn’t want her parents’ death, didn’t want to be all alone in this world.

Due to the rainy weather, there wasn’t a shred of moonlight outside, only darkness.

Feng Jinglei curled up, trembling incessantly, her fear of darkness developing into a psychological disorder gradually after her parents passed away.

That was the third day after her parents’ deaths, the empty house leaving only her behind. Since the family business was taken, all the servants and housekeepers left, in the 20-million-yuan villa, she was left isolated and alone.

That night, because of a sudden power outage, the pitch-black rainy night left the villa in utter darkness aside from the sound of wind and rain outside. It made her instantly feel as if sothing was in the dark room, yet she couldn’t see it, but she could clearly feel the endless darkness approaching her, seemingly about to drag her into that bottomless, never-ending dark vortex.

“Dad… Mom… don’t leave … don’t leave …” That year, she was nineteen, enduring the loneliness and pain of losing both parents.

Initially, Feng Jinglei didn’t know she had developed this psychological disorder. It was by chance, one ti she turned off the lights to sleep, that the fear in the dark room suddenly arose. After that, every night, as soon as the lights were off, she would feel like this, though she initially managed to restrain it.

In the past two years, she felt the symptoms growing increasingly strong, and afterward, she would often leave a small light on to calm her anxious heart.

As long as there was light, she could control it, but what she couldn’t handle was the complete darkness, with not a trace of light, as if she was about to be engulfed by that bottomless black hole in an instant!

“No… don’t leave …”

Due to the sudden power outage, Qin Feimo also stepped out of the room, descending the stairs slowly with the help of ergency light.

“What happened?”

There was ergency light in the living room too. Zhuang Yanyan turned her head and saw her grandson coming down the stairs, “I don’t know what happened. Your grandpa has already sent soone to deal with it.”

Qin Feimo frowned. Not knowing why, his gaze involuntarily scanned the living room, and he didn’t see Feng Jinglei.

Still upstairs?

“Oh, right, Feimo, Jinglei is still on the third floor, and the hallway doesn’t have ergency lights installed. Go get Jinglei, she’s a girl, she must be afraid of the dark.”

Reminded by Zhuang Yanyan, Qin Feimo suddenly rembered sothing, his brows furrowed.

That was the second year after Feng Jinglei moved to the Commander Residence, on Christmas Eve. The whole family went out for dinner, and the restaurant had a sudden power outage, plunging the private room into darkness.

At that mont, sitting next to Feng Jinglei, he suddenly felt a force gripping his arm fiercely! Initially, Qin Feimo thought it was soone else, until he later realized it was a hand, and… it was trembling as it grasped him.

Later, he took out his phone and illuminated the room, only to discover that the hand was Feng Jinglei’s, and with the faint light from the phone casting on her face, he saw her panic-stricken expression.
