“You are my wife, don’t you mind those won?” He looked up, his smile faint at the corners of his mouth, but his dark eyes were downcast, showing no trace of jest.
Gu Qiangwei frowned, staring at him in confusion.
What was with this man? He knew they were a pretend couple, so what did the won around him have to do with her?
Yet, at this mont, he spoke with such seriousness that it seed as if she were his legitimate wife.
The man’s eyes, as if possessing endless magic, could ensnare one with the slightest carelessness. Gu Qiangwei quickly averted her gaze.
“I don’t mind!”
Qin Sijue’s gaze darkened as he stared at her deliberately evasive face.
Two seconds later, he changed the topic, focusing on her now less swollen ankle, “Does it still hurt?”
Gu Qiangwei looked down at her foot, “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
As she finished speaking, she withdrew her foot from his leg.
Then, she was about to head upstairs.
However, as soon as her feet touched the ground and she stood up, the piercing pain returned!
“Hiss!”
The montary pain turned her face pale, and she fell right into his arms, perfectly balanced.
Seeing her pale face, Qin Sijue’s dark eyes slightly hardened, and he stared at her, “Don’t ever lie to
again!”
With that said, he stood up and lifted her in one motion, “Where do you want to go?”
Gu Qiangwei was still imrsed in his statent, “Don’t ever lie to
again.” What did he an by that?
“When did I lie?” She looked up at his perfect features, asking blankly.
He looked down, his narrow eyes unreadable.
“It hurts, so why say it doesn’t?”
Gu Qiangwei paused.
So, that was what he had been referring to.
“It didn’t hurt when I wasn’t standing just now!” she retorted, yet sowhat guiltily avoided his gaze.
“Where to?”
“I want to go upstairs.”
“Young Master, dinner is ready.” Just then, Qin Si approached and inford them.
Ignoring Gu Qiangwei’s words, Qin Sijue turned and carried her towards the dining hall.
He gently placed her in front of the dining table and arranged the napkin for her; tonight’s al was Western style.
His thoughtful care left Gu Qiangwei montarily stunned.
Having prepared everything for her, Qin Sijue returned to the head of the table and began to eat.
His slow and elegant dining motions were majestic, and Gu Qiangwei found herself staring.
“Not eating?” Qin Sijue had already taken a bite but noticed she hadn’t yet started, curiously lifting his gaze to her.
Gu Qiangwei then realized and hurriedly began to eat.
After a few bites, as if a thought struck her, she raised her beautiful eyes, staring at the quietly dining man across from her.
“You…” As the word left her lips, she suddenly paused, seemingly unsure how to continue.
Qin Sijue looked up, staring at her, apparently curious about what she was going to say next.
But his expression remained serene, revealing no emotions.
Pursing her lips, Gu Qiangwei finally spoke, “Are you going to get engaged to that Nangong Feifei?”
Qin Sijue’s eyes flickered, his lips curving into an almost imperceptible smile.
“Didn’t you say you didn’t mind?”
“…” Realizing what she had just asked, Gu Qiangwei hurriedly lowered her head, devouring her steak voraciously!
Really, she had indeed said she didn’t care about any of the other won around him before, so why suddenly ask if he was going to get engaged to soone else? It sounded just like she cared about that woman!
“Never mind!”
She quickly added, then continued eating her dinner silently, deciding not to speak again.
