"Co, co, I’ve heard about your excellent chess skills. Play a ga with this old man today, and don’t go easy on ."
Old Fang joked from the side, "You really want to play a ga with everyone you et."
Old Jiang laughed heartily, "You know, it’s my only hobby."
"Are you playing with black or white pieces?" Simon Sutton asked.
Simon replied, "White pieces."
And so the ga began. Back and forth, neither giving an inch, both sides evenly matched. The spectators were amazed; everyone knew of Simon Sutton’s exceptional chess skills, but they didn’t expect him to hold his own against Old Jiang.
Ti ticked away, and in the end, Simon Sutton lost to Old Jiang by just one move.
"Refreshing, refreshing, I haven’t had such a satisfying ga in a long ti. Did you let win, young man?"
Simon laughed and said, "No, sir, you were the better player."
In truth, he did hold back a bit; otherwise, it would have been a draw.
Old Fang laughed and said, "The last ti I saw your little girl, she was quite impressive. Truly, like father, like daughter."
Simon raised his eyebrows and asked in a puzzled tone, "Mia?"
This was the second ti today that soone ntioned his daughter, and a thought began to form in his mind.
"Yes, speaking of which, that girl is really smart and well-behaved. If Jensen from the Sterling Family hadn’t gotten there first, I would have liked her as my granddaughter-in-law."
At these words, Simon’s heart skipped a beat, and that thought beca even clearer, though he still didn’t want to believe it. His face remained neutral as he smiled and said, "The Sterling Family?"
Old Fang replied, "Yes, Jensen Sterling. Don’t be fooled by his young age; he’s quite formidable."
The others chid in, "He truly is."
"Next ti, bring them along. We old folks really like those two young ones."
Though they didn’t have a good impression of Gavin Sterling, they had quite a favorable opinion of Jensen Sterling.
And Mia Sutton, after they saw her last ti, they genuinely thought she was a good girl.
...
Simon Sutton could no longer pretend he didn’t know; his daughter was married, and to Jensen Sterling!
But in front of the older n, he still smiled and replied, "I will."
Once the others left, Simon’s face turned icy, and his expression was stern.
He stood up, grabbed his coat, and said in a heavy tone, "Sorry, sothing’s co up at ho. I must leave."
He said this and then strode out of the venue.
As soon as he left, the last encounter with Jensen Sterling replayed in his mind.
His expression turned cold, and he exuded a chilling aura.
Very well!
He realized why the person in Jensen Sterling’s arms looked so much like his daughter; he thought it was because he missed her too much.
It wasn’t just a resemblance; it was her!
The two of them acted really well back then.
Very well, indeed!
He even ntioned having a new boyfriend. New boyfriend? They were already married!
Fuming all the way ho, Ashley Vance noticed his off deanor and slowly asked, "Did sothing happen at the party today? Why do you look so upset?"
Simon Sutton snorted heavily, "Nothing happened at the party, but our precious daughter is sothing else!"
