In the bedroom, Mia Sutton sat cross-legged on the bed, holding her phone, and asked tentatively, "Brother, are you still mad?"

Holly Sutton sneered, "What do you think!"

"You’ve got so nerve, don’t you? In another man’s house in the middle of the night, tell , where are you?"

As Holly questioned, his hands didn’t stop moving. He stepped on the gas pedal, the car traced an arc, and disappeared from its original spot.

Listening to the sounds on the other end, Mia paused and asked, "Brother, what are you doing?"

"Of course, I’m coming to pick up my dear sister," the person on the other end said coldly, emphasizing the words "dear sister" heavily.

The night outside was already very dark, and a car swiftly weaved through the road.

Seeing that the other side was silent, Holly spoke again, his voice agitated, "Where are you, the address."

He’s coming to kill that bastard man!

Mia: "Brother, calm down first, let tell you..."

Mia’s words were interrupted by Holly: "Cut the crap."

Mia: "..."

Cut the crap?! Oh, now she understood...

The next second, Holly slamd on the brakes, stopping the car by the roadside, three words buzzing in his mind, making him feel for a mont as if he was hallucinating.

His fingers tightened on the steering wheel, and he asked in a sowhat drifting and light voice, "What did you just say..."

Mia felt a chill down her spine upon hearing this. Having lived with him for over twenty years, Mia knew that her brother was now in a state where he could easily snap ten of her necks.

But the words were out, and she could only brace herself and continue, "I said, I got married." The last few words were spoken so softly they were almost inaudible.

After speaking, there was no response from the other side. The silence was terrifying. Mia swallowed a couple of tis and asked timidly, "Brother, what are you doing, why aren’t you speaking."

Holly sneered, "Driving back to the hospital to grab a few surgical knives."

Mia: "..."

"Today, he goes to ER, I go to jail."

Mia: !!!

Even though Mia knew Holly was just speaking offhand, she could still sense his anger.

At the beginning, her brother’s tone was very aggressive, but to be honest, Mia wasn’t that scared. He was just a paper tiger, always like that since they were kids. But like now, he seed calm, as if nothing major had happened, and that was the scariest part.

Mia swallowed her saliva: "Well... it hasn’t gotten to that point, right."

On the other side, Holly chuckled in rage: "What do you think."

Mia: "Well... brother, dear brother, listen to , things really haven’t gotten to that point."

At this mont, Holly wasn’t in a rush either, leaning back in his seat, his voice faint, sending a chill down one’s spine, "Alright, go ahead."

He wanted to see what kind of story she could co up with!

Mia opened her lips, her brain spinning wildly, wondering what reason she could give to explain such a spur-of-the-mont marriage.

As she was troubled, the half-opened door was gently knocked on, and Mia turned her head to look.

Jensen Sterling stood at the door, tall and with a gentle expression on his face. Seeing her look over, he walked in.

Looking at the girl sitting on the bed, frustrated and ssing up her half-dry hair, he slowly said, "Mia, give the phone."

Perhaps because the man’s voice was so gentle, perfectly soothing her inner irritation, giving a sense of reassurance, it felt like he could handle everything.

Mia, almost instinctively, handed over the phone. Jensen took the phone, flashed her a reassuring smile, and said, "It’s okay, go blow-dry your hair first, don’t catch a cold."

Saying this, he took the phone and walked out of the room.

......

"Hello, is this Mia’s brother? I’m her husband."
