Chapter 60 - Dilemma

Xiu i resud working at the office a week after the news died down for a little bit. Even though there were still so reporters taking every opportunity everyti they see her or Lu Chen, it was still manageable when compared to the first few days.

"Congratulations!"

"Ms.Xiu, we wish you a happy marriage!"

"Congratulations and we wish you all the best!"

Xiu i stared flabbergasted at the sprawled out letters on her desk. In the morning, this was what the reception had handed over to her in all smiles. At first, Xiu i felt that the smile of the receptionist looked quite creepy and suspicious, but she still accepted the bundle of tied up envelopes she gave to her.

And she was really right. She really shouldn’t have accepted the letters. Because right now, she didn’t know what to feel anymore. Embarrassed? Dood? Desperation?

Xiu i slapped her hands onto the desk in frustration. Damn it! Did Lu Chen not even clear the issue even to the employees in the building?!

Now what? Is she really now bound to be married to Lu Chen one way or another?!

Looking at the letters on the desk that were filled with the goodwill of the employees, she stopped herself from throwing them onto her trashbin to burn it all to ashes.

Shit, what the hell is she going to do now?

Xiu i pulled on her hair in frustration, almost burying her face on her working station.

While she worried about the problem of explaining the truth to her coworkers, Lu Chen and Lu Shao arrived at the office.

Hearing the sound of the elevator, Xiu i automatically shifted her eyes towards to elevator and saw the two n exit the elevator. Upon seeing the man in a navy blue business suit at the front, she narrowed her eyes and fiercely glared at him.

Such a manipulative emperor CEO! He told her he would court her properly, but he was not even giving her any way out! She really was too rash in accepting his proposal, damn it!

But no matter how much she wants to lash out to him right at this very mont, she still have to hold back all her anger now. At this ti, she must be a professional as Mr.Lu’s secretary. For now, she should draw the line of work and personal issues she have with him.

See how she’ll beat him up later.

"Good morning, Mr.Lu." Flashing a smile that wasn’t exactly a smile, she greeted him.

"Good morning." Quickly glancing over at her, Lu Chen greeted her back as he nonchalantly placed a small pack of milk on her table. He continued striding towards his office like he didn’t notice the look that Xiu i was throwing at him.

Xiu i stopped herself from rolling her eyes and composed herself. Let’s confront him after work which is... 11 hours away from now. Workaholic, yes she is.

Her vision shifted on the small pack of milk Lu Chen gave her and contemplated for awhile.

Is this a bribe?

Biting her lower lip, she shrugged and grabbed it off the table. Gulping it down, she thought to herself that a simple pack of milk would not be enough for her to let him off so easily.

Xiu i quickly dived herself into her work especially that she had a lot of things to catch up after missing work for more than a week. Even though she had split the work with Lu Shao and her assistant, there is still a lot of work that only she can work on. Despite doing so of the work at ho, she still needed to et with a bunch of people to finalize so of the work.

"Tell about the updates on the Mango Collection." Xiu i stated as she flipped through the pages of designs submitted to her by the famous writer and designer they recently partnered with.

"These are the designs Ms.Mango submitted for review. We’ve already reviewed most of it with the team. Ms.Mango also wanted to keep the fashion line as close to the original designs as possible."

Xiu i contemplated on the designs and did the calculations on her head.

"What about the procured material for the clothes?"

"It’s already being tested. The chief designer seems optimistic about it."

"How about the production? Is there gonna be a problem in reproducing the designs in a shorter ti?"

Her assistant placed another paper in front of her as she replied, "We won’t have any problem reproducing most of the designs however, these two have a more complicated technique hence we won’t be able to produce a lot of pieces until the release date."

After inputting all the data in her head, Xiu i formulated the best strategy for the upcoming release of the clothing line.

"Since the Mango Collection is our newest line for partnering with a famous writer, we can have these two designs as the limited edition pieces for this season. I believe these are the designs of the main characters, yes?"

"Yes, I also confird it with Ms.Mango. I’ll inform her about your decision for the two designs as soon as possible."

"Another thing, arrange for a eting with her next week. For the Project Als and Key, get the project heads for a quick briefing with them later after lunch."

"I’ll take note of that." Her assistant jotted down the instructions on her notebook. After finishing all the briefing stuff, Xiu i was busy compiling all the folders into one stack when her assistant almost gave her a heart attack with what she said.

"Ms.Xiu, congratulations on your wedding by the way."

Xiu i automatically froze on her seat. She looked at her assistant with disbelief as if she was trying to read her expression whether she was pretending to be aware of the truth or not.

Did Lu Shao didn’t even debriefed her assistant on the truth of the matter?

If her assistant wasn’t even aware of how untrue the news was... hah... so this must be why the employees must’ve thought that everything they saw on the news was true.
