Chapter 30 - Abuse of power
The incident that night easily made the headlines the next day. Xiu i quickly coordinated with the PR team that night expecting such results thus they were able to quickly lessen the damage on their side.
Linda Yang’s na was all red for the whole week. The next ti Xiu i t her was a few months after that. She t her again in so collaboration project with so clothing line company. It was completely out of her expectations when the Head of the Design departnt from X Company revealed to her in one of their formal dinners that they contracted Linda Yang for the designs.
Xiu i imdiately wondered how Linda Yang survived after that scandal a few months ago.
Lu Corporation does not discriminate for people with talents, however, Xiu i had investigated this Linda Yang during the scandal period. It was revealed that a lot of Linda Yang’s most famous designs were plagiarized and stolen by her from other designers.
This kind of people, she disdain them the most. People who steal other people’s hardwork and claim that they own them, why are they the one successful when compared to those people who are really talented?
However, Xiu i could not exactly pry on this matter. After all, Linda Yang was like the previous girls who had tried to climb the bed of Lu Chen so they had easily brushed off this small issue.
But now, knowing that the other party was the one responsible for providing the designs and clothing line, she imdiately demanded that they end their contract with Linda Yang. Stealing designs is definitely not a simple issue, and she won’t gamble Lu Corporation’s na with that.
The X Company easily made their decision hearing Xiu i’s demand. Lu Corporation’s na is still bigger when compared to the na of Linda Yang in the industry, especially that she already had a stain on her na.
"What the hell?" Xiu i held her urge to smash the screen of her laptop after reading the headline.
Xiu i didn’t know what happened but one day, she saw her na in the headlines a few days after that.
Basically, what she had sumd up from the article was that she was abusing her power as the secretary of the president of Lu Corporation to oppress other people, for example, person A(unnad) who is a fashion designer.
Xiu i scoffed.
Instantly, she knew who was the one responsible behind all of this. Linda Yang was the person they recently had issue with, and it seems like she was acting like a white lotus acting all so pitiful in the short interview she had provided as Person A.
The matter was left with the PR team to resolve. After all, it wasn’t sothing big that she really had to worry about. Her attitude as Lu Chen’s secretary is already known to a lot of people. She was mostly in contact with high profile people and other employees.
If the reporters really want to investigate her, they would easily find this information. Even her identity as a Xiu daughter wasn’t exactly a secret either.
After that incident was resolved, she completely disdained Linda Yang not only as a person, but her whole being. How dare she try to taint her na like that? Even pulling in the na of the Lu Corporation?
If it were the old Xiu i, she’d make sure that Linda Yang won’t even have a place anywhere in the fashion industry may it be in China or abroad.
"Hoho," That laugh full of egoism by Linda Yang could be completely felt by Xiu i. Ah, she just really want to get out of here or else she might do sothing so scandalous in front of her. Probably like pouring the tea she was drinking on her?
Petty, but damn. She was tempted to really do it.
"It’s nothing big. It’s just an award." Linda Yang said, trying to sound humble yet she couldn’t hide that tone of pride when she spoke.
"Yeah, just a simple award. After all, who knows who’ll be the winner next year." Xiu i sipped her tea after saying that. She clearly felt that dagger like stare when the other party heard her words but she easily ignored them.
"Or maybe, sothing might even happen and you’d be quickly dethroned, right?"
Her tea cup made a noise after she placed it back on the saucer. While speaking, Xiu i looked straight to Linda Yang’s eyes. Her lips slightly curled up seeing Linda Yang’s gaze shake.
Xiu i picked up a napkin and made a gesture of rubbing her hands on it as she continued.
"Maybe next year, the committee would decide a stricter criteria in choosing the winners I guess? For example, originality?"
BLAG!
Xiu i stood up from her seat with the folders sandwiched between her elbows and body while her other hand held the hand bag she was previously carrying.
She glanced again at Linda Yang who was seething with anger as she looked at her with intense glare like she was ready to attack and pull her hair at any mont. She flashed a smile of triumph before walking out. She took quite a big step, to avoid the pieces of the broken tea cup scattered on the floor.
After leaving the VIP lounge, Xiu i walked a little bit more distance before stopping in so corner. Her left arm reached out and leaned on the wall as Xiu i almost cried.
She was covering her mouth with her her other hand as she finally let loose the laugh she was holding back ever since she exited the VIP lounge.
"Pfft!! Hahahahahaha!"
Xiu i laughed herself to tears, her mood was completely lifted up.
She almost laughed again, rembering that fear stricken face of the person she was conversing with awhile ago. Really, if she had not held back, she would’ve easily got that woman chased away completely from her life.
After laughing for awhile, Xiu i tried to compose into her calm self again.
Aah, the old Xiu i is resurfacing after so many years. Should she be concerned?
