Ling Yunshu stabbed soone with a knife. Although the person didn’t die, if taken seriously, he could still be charged with attempted murder, and that’s no light accusation.
Xiao Chen is the eldest son of the Xiao Family, a renowned psychiatrist with a bright and promising future. However, once such a charge is pinned on him, his entire life would be ruined.
"Yes, he admitted to everything, including that night’s events. He confessed to it all, wanting to completely clear Ling Yunshu’s na."
Shi Che was indeed surprised by Xiao Chen’s actions; he knew Xiao Chen loved Ling Yunshu, but he didn’t expect his love to reach such heights, causing his own plan to fall apart due to this unexpected developnt regarding Xiao Chen.
The two of them seed shaken by Xiao Chen’s actions and fell silent.
Until suddenly, Shi Che’s phone rang. He snapped back to reality, reached over to the nightstand to grab his phone, glanced at it, and saw it was a call from the police station.
He swiped the screen with his fingers and answered the call directly.
Ling Chuxia looked up at him, unsure what was being said on the other end. His brow furrowed slightly, then his dark eyes glanced at her briefly before he finally let out a simple "hmm" and hung up the phone.
Ling Chuxia couldn’t help but ask, "Who called?"
"The police station. Xiao Chen wants to see you."
-
That Xiao Chen wanted to see her was sothing Ling Chuxia did not expect. Shi Che originally didn’t want her to see Xiao Chen; after all, there wasn’t really anything to say. But Ling Chuxia still agreed to et Xiao Chen.
She really wanted to ask, even if he loved Ling Yunshu, why he could hurt her like this, hurt an innocent person. In her mory, Xiao Chen really wasn’t such a person.
So the next day, she still went to the police station.
Although Shi Che was sowhat discontented, he couldn’t argue with her and ended up driving her to the police station. He wanted to accompany her to see Xiao Chen, but she refused because Xiao Chen had only requested to see her alone.
-
Ling Chuxia was led by a police officer into a room. The spacious room was empty, with only a long table and a few chairs.
When she walked in, Xiao Chen was already sitting in a chair, quietly waiting for her.
She couldn’t help but fix her gaze on him. In her impression, Xiao Chen had always been elegant and calm, gentle and courteous. But now, he wore prison clothes, his face haggard, though still ntally strong.
For a mont, Ling Chuxia didn’t know what to feel. She walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
Xiao Chen lifted his gaze, looking at Ling Chuxia, sizing her up and down. Seeing that she was unhard, he exhaled slightly, then subtly adjusted his expression. Opening his mouth, he directly spoke to Ling Chuxia: "Xiaxia, as long as you’re okay."
His first words caught Ling Chuxia off guard, just like when he said he wanted to see her; it was unexpected.
But soon, she coldly curled her lips, "Brother Xiao, I didn’t expect you to care about either."
The words "Brother Xiao" pierced Xiao Chen’s heart slightly, so much so that he couldn’t et Ling Chuxia’s eyes.
He clenched his hands tightly on the table, took a deep breath, and his voice was soaked in extre bitterness, "Xiaxia, I’m sorry."
"Brother Xiao, I don’t understand what your apology ans. Does saying sorry make it all better after hurting soone?"
Ling Chuxia stared straight at Xiao Chen, her gaze icy, her voice equally cold, "I didn’t co here today to hear your apology. I want to know why."
