"Shi Che, Shi Che? Are you still there?" Ling Chuxia called out several tis, but there was no response before her, and she unconsciously opened her eyes.
It was still dark in front of her, and the man who had just stood before her had now disappeared without a trace; there was nothing in front of her.
Ling Chuxia’s gaze suddenly sharpened, and she didn’t know how to deal with the situation at hand. After being stunned for several seconds, she ca back to her senses. Where was Shi Che? Why had he disappeared? Where had he gone?
Ling Chuxia looked around hastily and called out loudly, "Shi Che! Shi Che? Where are you?"
When the two of them were together just now, she hadn’t noticed how dark or empty the place was, but now that she was alone, she realized how terrifyingly dark it was. The patch of Lavender behind her rustled with the breeze, sending a chilling sound that reached the bottom of her heart.
Ling Chuxia’s body involuntarily shrank as she looked around in the dark, her voice becoming increasingly frantic, "Shi Che, co out, please don’t scare !"
Shi Che said he would give her an answer, was this his answer? Leaving her alone in such darkness?
No, Shi Che had said he would never leave her again, but... he really wasn’t here now.
So... he still couldn’t accept the fact that she couldn’t get pregnant, could he?
Even though she was ntally prepared, at this mont, her heart contracted fiercely, and a sorrow overca her, drowning out the fear deep within. She stood frozen, her legs weak and unable to support her any longer, so she squatted down, her hands involuntarily covering her face, her nose tingling and eyes gradually welling up with tears.
"Shi Che, do you really not want anymore?" Her voice was hoarse and dry, thick with despair.
The wind blew silently, bringing a chill to her body, but still, no one answered her question. A tear slowly escaped the corner of her eye, trickled down between her fingers, and fell to the ground.
Suddenly, Ling Chuxia noticed a faint light appearing before her; with her hands covering her tearful eyes, she could not see it clearly, so she moved her hands away slowly.
The originally calm and dark surface of the lake now held many delicate little boats, each one bearing a small, heart-shaped candle. They began to float and drift slowly across the lake’s surface.
Ling Chuxia was stunned, her gaze unconsciously falling on the lake as she watched hundreds of little boats slowly form a line of words in their movent.
"Would you marry ?"
Those simple words nearly filled the entire lake, and the dim light from the candles on the boats suddenly illuminated the surrounding area, as well as Ling Chuxia’s astonished face.
Her dark eyes widened unconsciously as her hands instinctively covered her lips.
Amidst the candlelight, the faint sound of music began to play, such a beautiful and familiar lody. As soon as it reached Ling Chuxia’s ears, she looked up abruptly and followed the source of the sound.
Not far to her left, a cluster of lights shone, and what first caught Ling Chuxia’s eyes were the pure white piano and then... a man in a white tailcoat.
He sat in front of the piano, his handso face glowing in the light, his eyes warm with tenderness and deep with affection.
