The words weren’t anything excessively sweet, yet as Shi Che’s husky voice lingered in Ling Chuxia’s ear, that phrase, "Having is enough for you," sohow touched Ling Chuxia’s heart even more than an "I love you" would.
Her throat suddenly constricted with emotion, and she was unable to speak, only able to hold him more tightly.
Their bodies were pressed close together, and Shi Che could feel Ling Chuxia’s soft curves flush against him. The warmth of her body surged, igniting twin flas in his dark eyes so quickly; heaven knows how he’d managed to restrain himself from deepening that kiss.
He sighed softly, his thin lips unconsciously kissing the shell of her ear, his breath growing hotter, "Chuxia, just now you were so passionate, how I wished to continue..."
Alas, his body was too weak to allow him to carry on, leaving Shi Che unavoidably frustrated.
Ling Chuxia paused, finally grasping the aning behind his words, her cheeks imdiately turning a deep red. She buried her face in his chest, not wanting him to see her embarrassnt.
Shi Che really hadn’t seen Ling Chuxia this shy before; a glint of amusent flickered in his eyes as his voice teased further, "But it’s okay, once my body recovers, we can take our ti!"
He deliberately drew out the words "take our ti," enunciating each one slowly and clearly, with a slight upward lilt at the end, casting a spell of allure in the quiet night. It was like a gentle pluck on the heartstrings, causing Ling Chuxia to shiver uncontrollably, feeling her face grow hotter.
Her lips pouted slightly, and her small hand couldn’t help but form into a fist, lightly pounding on him as if to chide, "What are you saying? Who’s taking their ti with you?"
Shi Che’s lips curved slightly, not minding Ling Chuxia’s denial. He just held her tightly, his heart peaceful and calm.
Ling Chuxia had been running around all night and had cried for such a long ti that she fell asleep unknowingly in Shi Che’s arms.
Shi Che looked down slightly at Ling Chuxia in his embrace, his eyelids drooping, thick lashes casting shadows as his breathing beca gradually steady and even. He watched her for a long while before slowly moving his arms to lay Ling Chuxia down on the bed. Then he took off her shoes and moved her legs onto the bed as well.
Afterwards, he lay down slowly, one hand behind Ling Chuxia’s neck, the other hand wrapped around her, gently drawing her into his embrace, holding her tight against his body.
Strangely, before Ling Chuxia had arrived, he hadn’t felt the slightest hint of sleepiness, but now, with Ling Chuxia lying beside him, drowsiness irresistibly overwheld him.
But... he dared not sleep.
He feared that if he closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, everything that had happened would turn into nothingness, another beautiful dream.
His arm subconsciously tightened its grip around Ling Chuxia, their bodies pressed closely together. He could feel her softness, her warmth, and that was what assured him that everything was real, not a dream.
Ling Chuxia was deeply asleep, but as if sensing Shi Che’s unease, her head unconsciously nuzzled his chest, then her small hand reached out, draping over Shi Che’s waist.
This unconscious gesture slowly soothed Shi Che’s restless heart, a faint glow flickering in the depths of his eyes. At last, his thin lips softly kissed Ling Chuxia’s forehead, his voice low and tender, "Chuxia, good night."
