Shi Che’s thin lips parted and closed as his words, one by one, reached Ling Chuxia’s ears with such urgency and certainty. Ling Chuxia’s icy expression faltered slightly, her large eyes brimming with disbelief.

What was Shi Che saying? He said he didn’t want to get rid of her child? Had she heard wrong? How could that be possible?

"What...what are you talking about?" Ling Chuxia stared at him blankly, her voice slow, "That’s impossible, just impossible."

Her last few words were almost a murmur.

Shi Che kept his gaze on Ling Chuxia, and seeing her expression, he beca even more anxious as he said, "Chuxia, why would you think it’s impossible? In your eyes, am I really the kind of person who could cruelly force his wife to abort our child? That’s my child too!"

Shi Che’s words deeply shocked Ling Chuxia; a flicker of light flashed in the depths of her eyes, leaving her mind montarily blank.

He said he didn’t want to get rid of her child, he said he wasn’t that heartless, he said it was his child too.

But...if that was the case, then why did he send that text ssage? That text ssage was clearly sent by him.

The content of the text ssage, she rembered word for word so clearly.

You don’t deserve to bear my child...

I don’t want you, and I don’t want the child either, Ling Chuxia, let’s get a divorce.

Those two ssages, adding up to no more than twenty or so words, were sharper than a freshly unsheathed sword, becoming the nightmare she’d continuously had for so long, lingering in her mind, unforgettable.

And now he was saying this?

The confusion in Ling Chuxia’s eyes gradually cleared, her hands slowly clenched tightly, and she stared straight at Shi Che, "You once said that I didn’t deserve to bear your child, didn’t you?"

He asked her, in her eyes, was he really that heartless to make his wife abort the child?

She had never believed Shi Che could be so heartless, but the reality was right before her eyes, and she couldn’t even deceive herself!

Ling Chuxia’s words suddenly triggered Shi Che’s mory. Once, due to Ling Chuxia’s sches, he had been beside himself with rage, and so he had said those words. Thinking she was referring to that ti, he hastily explained, "Yes, I did say that, but I was just too angry then..."

Shi Che’s acknowledgnt made Ling Chuxia laugh coldly, a laugh as chilling as the Arctic snow, instantly stopping Shi Che’s words.

"Too angry? Yes, too angry, so you didn’t want my child. That little, innocent child, yet you were so heartless. So what excuse do you have now, standing here?"

Ling Chuxia grew more and more agitated, nearly screaming by the end. She struggled to pull her hand away from Shi Che’s grasp but couldn’t break free. Eventually, she didn’t know where she found the strength, but she yanked hard, and Shi Che refused to let go, fearing that once he did, she would disappear. After this tug of war, Shi Che’s body suddenly rolled off the bed.

Shi Che, who already had a minor fracture, now fell directly from the bed to the floor, his handso face turning extrely pale as he let out a pained grunt. Ling Chuxia hadn’t expected to pull him down, and seeing him like this, her face turned pale, and she imdiately crouched down, her voice filled with extre panic, "Shi Che, are you alright?"
